Entirely too little time paid here to the Mustache of Righteousness but I guess you’ve got to leaven the mockery with substance. The first third deals with DTN and Newark, whose mayor is sticking with his sanctuary city policy notwithstanding the fact that it now has a body count, then comes the Geraldo segment, and then finally a phone call from a Hispanic citizen who urges Laura and MM to dial down the incendiary rhetoric without identifying which parts he considers incendiary. He claims it’s going to alienate the Latino vote irreversibly, but note the results of the sidebar poll here at the otherwise left-leaning Chicago Sun-Times. Not data, just an anecdote, but worth noting.
I’m trying to get this uploaded to Sevenload to embed it but having no luck thus far. I’ll add it as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, the mp3 is here. If you’re looking for something to read while you listen, read this.
Update: Here you go.

Of course illegals are trying to get to the U.S.
Look at the gorgeous women we have.

Yeah, thanks for the reading…I’m getting real sick of arguments like the one from Mel Martinez, “Well, if we aren’t doing blanket amnesty and a wink/nudge on security, what’s YOUR plan?” You’ve been given plenty of good plans to deal with the issue, just not the one you want, you dishonest prick!
Bad Candy on August 16, 2007 at 12:28 PM
Yeah, like, ENFORCE THE LAWS WE ALREADY HAVE!
Ordinary1 on August 16, 2007 at 12:34 PM
I am sick to death of Mel Martinez. He is SO wrong on this issue! NOW he looks to be trying to torpedo the very people he is SUPPOSED to be trying to elect!
Way to go MM and LI! Keep up the GREAT work!
labwrs on August 16, 2007 at 12:40 PM
Sounds like a plan to me…

There are much better pics of Laura out there.
She looks like a mannequin here.

Earth to Martinez: We implimented YOUR plan back in 1986. Didn’t work too well, did it?
Was that a raggae version of The Beatles’ “Michelle”?
Bigfoot on August 16, 2007 at 1:14 PM
Can’t stand to hear or see Whorealdo any longer…he has come up with a new word…”immigrationism” does not register in either Dictionary.com or Merriam-Webster.com. what an #$$%&(+@#.
oldernslower on August 16, 2007 at 1:26 PM
Yeah, but it’s in the HotAir dictionairy:
(From the original Geraldo thread)
Immigrationism: The widely held belief that nations have a fundamental right and duty to control immigration through the creation and enforcement of immigration laws.
Immigrationist: A person who supports enforcement of immigration laws.

My son hit an illegal alien when he was entering the freeway. Yes, it was his fault, but who would he have hit had the illegal alien not been in the United States – no one, what is it they don’t get. The illegal alien tried to get my son to lie (he didn’t have a license) and say that his friend was driving the car since he had a license. The police officer came, gave my son the riot act. I speak fluent Spanish and the officer wouldn’t even let me translate since my son was over 18. The officer didn’t turn the illegal in. He just said, “you can’t drive this vehicle home” to the illegal alien. The officer then left, and the illegal got in the car (without a license) and drove off. This is getting so frustrating. Why can’t the government do it’s job?

mark24609 on August 16, 2007 at 1:39 PM
the question neither is nor should be why cant the government, but why wont the government do its job. And the answer is…To do so would not fit in with their socialist agenda.
doriangrey on August 16, 2007 at 1:52 PM
I rather like my Panamanian import.
jdkchem on August 16, 2007 at 2:43 PM
It’s pretty obvious that except for certain areas where local enforcement is practiced (e.g. Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County, AZ), we can’t expect help from the police in these situations. For instance in L.A. you have Special Order 40, which prohibits an officer from inquiring about a criminal suspect’s residency or citizenship. The police are willingly following orders passed down from their Socialist Overlords: Illegals enjoy a protected status, and they are to be treated as such, no matter how it may affect law-abiding Americans.
Kinda lends a whole new meaning to “To Protect and to Serve”
infidel4life on August 16, 2007 at 2:43 PM
doriangrey,
Your comment is not appropriate.

terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 2:48 PM
Maybe you ought to read Michelle Malkin’s “Invasion” before commenting again. Oh yea, wait you wouldnt want to do that, she’s just the Boss around here, so commenting on her view’s especially when those comments happen to agree with her well published views can not possible be appropriate.
Quoting Michelle Malkin…deport them now…
doriangrey on August 16, 2007 at 3:04 PM
doriangrey,
Michelle never used the derogatory term from what I see in the clip you posted.
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 3:09 PM
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 3:09 PM
What derogatory term? Or are you just totally ignorant of history?
Operation Wetback
doriangrey on August 16, 2007 at 3:31 PM
doriangrey,
Yes the government used it in the 1950s!!!
Not really a good time racially sensitivity on part of the our government.
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 3:35 PM
How about “Operation Non-Registered Immigrant”? Would that make everyone feel warm and fuzzy?
jdkchem on August 16, 2007 at 3:50 PM
Look if the pro-immigration enforcement people (I know anti-immigration wouldn’t cut it here) want to make the point that it has nothing to do with ethnicity then why use such words that have such a negative connotations?
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 4:01 PM
Now we aren’t even supposed to call these law breakers “Illegal Aliens”. That “deragatory” conotation might hurt their little feelings too.
SouthernPride on August 16, 2007 at 4:05 PM
SouthernPride,
You must not have been reading the comments my complaint was not about him using the word “illegal aliens.” Re-read the thread please.
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 4:08 PM
No offense intended, but are you the new HotAir thread cop or something?
infidel4life on August 16, 2007 at 4:18 PM
And furthermore, when writing e-mail to BillOReilly.com,
please do not be an “immigrationist.”
CyberCipher on August 16, 2007 at 4:21 PM
I understood very well what the comments/complaints were.
(I’m not quite as dumb as I make out to be sometimes)
I’m saying that one of these daya soon, you’ll be telling us that Illegal “Alien” shouldn’t be used either because its “deragotory” and hurts their feelings.
BTW….People are always calling us white Southerners “Red Necks”. I think I’ll start throwing a hissy fit because it also has definitely has negative ethnicity connotations.
Most Liberal Yankees use the term “Red Neck” in a derogatory manner.
Do I really give a Sh!t? Nope.
SouthernPride on August 16, 2007 at 4:21 PM

SouthernPride,
If a white Northerner is calling you a “red neck” how is that about ethnicity???
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 4:26 PM
But you should give one to the fact, as Allah has said many many many times before, what is said on HotAir reflects Directly on Michelle. So doriangrey use of racial epithet, no matter how historically accurate in the context that it was used, is the wrong way to go.
I mean seriously, how is this going to help Michelle in her next debate with Geraldo if he starts pulling out these comments on Bill O just like Bill O does to KOS?

P.S. Think of all angles before commenting.
MirCat on August 16, 2007 at 4:28 PM
ETHNICITY:
“A sense of being different than other groups because of cultural tradition, ancestry, national origin, history, or religion.”
SouthernPride on August 16, 2007 at 4:28 PM
Look I’m just saying the word has been used to demean people of my ethnicity and I don’t think it is appropriate to say it.
terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 4:38 PM
I understand very well what reflects on M.M. and H.A., thank you very much.
I would not use the term on this site but I understood what doriangrey was trying to convey and I don’t believe he used it in a derogatory manner.
My point is, this Politically Correct climate has gone way overboard in trying to protect everyone’s little feelings.
Thank You so much for the reminder to think about my angles before commenting. But, do I have too? They depress me so.
SouthernPride on August 16, 2007 at 4:40 PM
Good discussion. I have to go bake cookies now and think about my angles some more. (Smile everyone!)

Amen. Like I said yesterday, we are all being forced into being 10 year old girls. I happen to be a little more case hardened. something about sticks and stones.
saiga on August 16, 2007 at 4:52 PM
You know, I’m not one to call for legal action, but considering how often the ACLU gets involved in situations like the constitutionality of sanctuary cities and such, it would be interesting to have someone sue one of these sanctuary cities for violating the rights of some of these murder and rape victims.
eclark1849 on August 16, 2007 at 5:23 PM
Laura..how dumb is the business community in this nation. It’s only cheap labor until they (the illegals) and the dims gain complete control of congress & oval office. At which time they now will tell busiess how it’s going to be. Do they really believe they are going to keep these people under control for ever. Fat chance.
Legions on August 16, 2007 at 5:42 PM
I agree completely with Laura. That said, if you do not attribute this behavior of the business community to stupidity, then most likely, your next best choice is to attribute this behavior to greed.

Also the guy that called in..about a kid calling his little girl names because she’s a mexican..Sounded like another deportation sob story..What I’d like to tell this man is me and my family were driven out of our home by illegals. A home I had worked to restore for over 15 years of my life. I put my hand out to them only to have it slapped back at me. I am now paying over $112 per wk. for health ins. and making less than I made 20 years ago..and thats per hour..Yet I have no problem with legal mexicans who respect this country. The only problem I see is,where is all the legal one’s at trying to stop this madness.. Their no where to be found..No,matter of fact their hero is that nut-case fruitbasket Geraldo. And why is every other channel on my TV a spanish program..Do we all really think these channels one miraculous day will ever disappear. Why can’t we see one of those marches they always have (and costing the taxpayers dearly to police and pay the $30 an hour santitaion workers to clean up their mess) instead of marching for open madness lets see how many come out one day to march to secure our borders..You’ll never see it
Legions on August 16, 2007 at 6:11 PM
In short, if we knew most of the legal mexicans where on our side (the right side), most americans would look at ALL mexicans in a different light. I see less than 1% of them being vocal. It reminds me of the Muslim community. And that ain’t good!!!!

malkinmania on August 16, 2007 at 7:02 PM
I have to say, there are a lot of legal hispanic immigrants here that are just as outraged about this problem as the rest of us. I have a friend at work, white guy, married to a mexican girl. They have been trying for years to deal with the immigration system legaly to get her status straight. (and no, just because you are married to an american does not mean you get legal status automatically) Anyway, they are outraged by the sense of entitlement shown by illegals in this country. In fact he has always had a pretty good relationship with the hispanics at work because they know about his wife and he speaks spanish. That is until the other day, when they brought him a petition to sign demanding ammnesty. He refused to sign and now they are openly hostile to him.
So yes, some on onboard and fighting the good fight.
BTW, his wife feels the same way.
conservnut on August 16, 2007 at 7:45 PM
Oh, and dorian,
Don’t sweat it. We can’t rename things in history because the word/term offends us. I understand why we have to be careful on this site about what we say or refer to. But we shouldn’t get revisionist either. That is the way of the left.
conservnut on August 16, 2007 at 7:51 PM
how come everyone fells they have to defend themselves from comments like the callers. Tell him to call the spanish language radio and tell them to stop the racist language.

The school of hard knox..read up a few post, you did see I lost my home what worldly possession is more than that!!!and I also get most of my info from Dr. Micheal Savage, MM and Laura Ingraham. I use to take the Mex.Amer. friend of my son with us on my speed boat to have fun and waterski. And believe me I was the only one in the area who did this..so don’t even think about calling me what you think. However everything became so clear when the illegals showed me no mercy, the police actually told me it was best if I were to move..thats all I got to say, I have to go watch O’Reilly he’s got the shamnesty king himself on and he’s been let out again without his straightjacket.
Legions on August 16, 2007 at 8:27 PM
Don’t you find it odd that both MM and Hot Air have totally ignored the Michael Savage story this week? Hats off to Laura Ingraham for paying attention.
MrC_5150 on August 17, 2007 at 1:29 AM
Ok…so there has been a lot of talk and blah blah blah…has anyone in our stupid government done a damn thing to close down the borders in the last year? Sigh!

Don’t you find it odd that both MM and Hot Air have totally ignored the Michael Savage story this week? Hats off to Laura Ingraham for paying attention.
MrC_5150 on August 17, 2007 at 1:29 AM
What’s odd is your not listening to Laura..On her Wednesday’s show, she not only was talking about Dr. Savage, she was praising him for not buckling in like Imus did. And she stood 100% behind the good Dr.’s view points on the issues. Way to go Laura!!!!!!
Legions on August 17, 2007 at 7:00 AM
Ummm, I said “Hats off to Laura…” I know that she gave the story some attention because I’d read about it at Free Republic, then heard Dr. Savage thank her for it on his show.
Not a peep about it from Hot Air or MM.

terryannonline on August 16, 2007 at 3:35 PM
So what exactly do you propose calling Operation Wetback, I mean obviously you want to either rename it or pretend that it never happened.
While you are busy re-writing history and being politically correct perhaps you can tell us what to call Operation Wetback II. Since referring to a repetition of the 1950’s successful Operation Wetback by it’s historically accurate name is so offensive to your sensibilities what should we call it?
Oh I know, let’s call it…Operation Deport the Undocumented Americans….God forbid we make any reference to any past operations (especially by their historically accurate names) to enforce our national immigration laws.
I mean for crying out loud how dare we arrogant Americans even think to suggest that we should have immigration laws, let alone make any historical references to successful methods of enforcing those immigration laws.
And by god how dare I suggest repeating those historically successful methods or have the audacity to suggest that we call those operations nearly the exact same thing they we call originally.
