What we see in the reactions of the billys of the world is the terror that we keep hearing about-he is unable to face the reality of the danger to our civilization from radical jihadist Islam, so he tries to convince himself that it’s not so bad. Some believe that Man is too noble a creature to be barbaric, when in truth man shows himself to be more barbarian than noble.

Coming late to the game here, but re the issue of the same God being worshiped by Christians and Muslims, the best argument is to go out and interview some Muslims who have converted to Christianity. Ask them, since they will know the two belief systems better than anyone who hasn’t been directly involved with both systems. The answer you will get is that Allah and the God of the Christian bible are not alike at all.
