A couple Navy ribbons here, an Air Force ribbon or two there, a variety of shiny rating emblems sprayed about, and you have yourself an Onion “general”.

I give them credit, they wouldn’t actually portray an authentic uniform in one of their parodies, but for the kind of people who would get sucked in by their humor, it never pays to look too closely.

I think you only get that one if you’re Active Duty when there’s a war going on. (I joined in 1981 but didn’t the NDSM until the end of Desert Storm.)

That “general’s” uniform was fun. Looked sort of Soviet.
