Video: Matthews on Rove — requiem for a “bum”

posted at 8:51 pm on August 13, 2007 by Allahpundit

Thanks to the ‘Busters for the tip on this. I’d have been disappointed with anything less.

Come on Chris, tell us how you really feel!

conservnut on August 13, 2007 at 8:54 PM

When does he ask one of the guys to lean in closer to the camera?

Kowboy on August 13, 2007 at 8:55 PM

Obtuse doesn’t even begin to describe Matthews. Stupid does.

Mallard T. Drake on August 13, 2007 at 8:56 PM

Is there a metaphor Matthews hasn’t used? I seem to remember him calling Bush “Linconesque.”

Nonfactor on August 13, 2007 at 8:56 PM

Matthews in rare form, indeed! I can only hope Pat Buchanan told him to wipe his mouth and simmer down, but I doubt it…

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 9:02 PM

I’m curious, does Matthews and Olberdouche work in the same building? If so, how can these two gigantic egos possibly fit in it at the same time? This is just another reason that I deleted PMSNBC from my TV.

dawgyear on August 13, 2007 at 9:02 PM

Did he ever let either one of them answer the question?

ctmom on August 13, 2007 at 9:03 PM

Buchanan should have distracted Matthews so he could get a word in. Perhaps if he’d shouted, “Hey, Chris! There goes Erin Burnett in a bikini!” it would have done the trick…

radjah shelduck on August 13, 2007 at 9:09 PM

Iran-Contra. Heh.

nailinmyeye on August 13, 2007 at 9:11 PM

Yes, leading someone to a helicopter is regal. For his next ceremony King Bush will escort Cheney to an airport.

aengus on August 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Iran-Contra thing. Where the hell did that come from?

Allahpundit on August 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

Where’s Zell Miller when you need him?

BobH on August 13, 2007 at 9:16 PM

What an obnoxious a$$hole…i could only watch a few seconds, tell me what is it with you leftists that you like about this clown and others like him. Why would any moderate or to the right of moderate go on his show, there’s only his wife and mother watching? Not to mention you’d never get your answer out.

oldernslower on August 13, 2007 at 9:16 PM

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Iran-Contra thing. Where the hell did that come from?

Allahpundit on August 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

He thought Buchannan winked at him and it got him all flustered.

Kowboy on August 13, 2007 at 9:17 PM

I’m disappointed, the thread title said

requiem for a “bum”

I was hoping that Chris was retiring now that Rove had retired…

doriangrey on August 13, 2007 at 9:17 PM

Okay, these aren’t even partisan debates… the President didn’t “divide the country” over Iraq, the Dems did. That is fact, not opinion. Same goes for the comment about leaving New Orleans to drop in to the sea. First of all, New Orleans was build “dropped” in to the sea, with walls to keep the water out. Secondly, even if you buy the LIE that the feds were the ones who screwed up in New Orleans, what happened to the city wasn’t anything the administration did… Levees broke under weak category 1 to 2 hurricane conditions, and Bush doesn’t have magical powers to stop a flood. So again, even if you believe the lie, and ignore the fact that the fiasco lies almost entirely at the feet of Nagin and Blanco and the citizens of that city, they couldn’t have stopped the city from “dropping in to the sea”…

RightWinged on August 13, 2007 at 9:19 PM

“Iran Contra”… Shows you where this guy’s head is…

More people see Chrissy on Hot Air than on PMSNBC

TheBigOldDog on August 13, 2007 at 9:21 PM

Seriously, where does one begin with this guy! Faulty assumptions, aided my illogical cognitive progressions, culminating in a pitiful performance of intellectual depravity. I never thought I would say it but I would rather watch more uncomfortable sexual harassment episodes of this buffoon. What a joke.

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:26 PM

What a maroon! If it wasn’t for Shepard Smith he would have zero viewers.

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 9:27 PM

Allahpundit on August 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

Obviously He’s still obsessed with the man (Reagan) who beat his boss (Carter). I/C was supposed to be his revenge just like Plame was supposed to finish Bush.

TheBigOldDog on August 13, 2007 at 9:28 PM

If it wasn’t for Shepard Smith he would have zero viewers.

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 9:27 PM

Ouch!

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:28 PM

B.M. Oh, I meant to write “C.M.”….pandering to his only 2 viewers. Joe & Val.

And Silky thinks Fox News is bias? What is it called when airing on A-Mess-NBC?

SouthernPride on August 13, 2007 at 9:28 PM

Faulty assumptions, aided my by illogical cognitive progressions,

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:26 PM

oops! heh

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:29 PM

Chris Matthews and Kieth Olbermann are obviously in a competition to see who can drink the most kool-aid and become the most deranged.

So far, it’s appearing to be a dead heat, but Matthews is gaining momentum.

SilverStar830 on August 13, 2007 at 9:29 PM

All right, ya’ll, which is more repulsive: a wet Rosie, or a Chris Matthews segment?

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:31 PM

And Silky thinks Fox News is bias? What is it called when airing on A-Mess-NBC?

SouthernPride on August 13, 2007 at 9:28 PM

Well, at least you know he doesn’t do it for ratings…

TheBigOldDog on August 13, 2007 at 9:31 PM

I am so tired of hearing about how EVERYTHING is Bushes fault! Check the records and see what special interest earmarks sucked up funds that should have gone to repairing levees in New Orleans and bridges in Minneapolis.

ctmom on August 13, 2007 at 9:32 PM

Matthews is plainly and simply stupid. Such a condition is not uncommon for his kind of narcissistic political leeches.

rplat on August 13, 2007 at 9:33 PM

BDS in its final stage. Pathetic… MSNBC is a joke.

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 9:36 PM

Hey Matthews, if you are so concerned about leaking Plames name to reporters, you might want to check in with Armitage.

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 9:36 PM

Now I remember why I stopped watching Mattspews. I get sick…

vulcannomad on August 13, 2007 at 9:37 PM

Kennedy towel boy gone wild.

Hening on August 13, 2007 at 9:40 PM

“…DAAAH, howcome Karl Rove wasn’t marched outta da Whitehouse, frog-walked, as Joe Wilson said he shoulda been (slobber)…”

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 9:47 PM

So, if Pres. Lincoln’s diagnosis was “Cranial Facial Microsomia”, what’s Matthews diagnosis?

Was he hit in the head by a horse when young as well?

Would author Nathaniel Hawthorne write of Matthews as “homely sagacity” and his “sallow, queer, sagacious visage.”

SouthernPride on August 13, 2007 at 9:49 PM

I think I heard a little leakage of some Freudian baggage.

TheSitRep on August 13, 2007 at 9:53 PM

Whos’ he winking at. . . Olberman ?

Texyank on August 13, 2007 at 9:59 PM

Why wasn’t Rove convicted when there was no underlying crime?

Chris, are you that frikkin; stupid?

Are is it a partisan parasite attached to the back of your next making you behave like a shameless, brainless pimping clown?

profitsbeard on August 13, 2007 at 10:04 PM

I guess Bush has his reasons for not defending himself against these douchebags, but I can’t stand Matthews for treating Michelle like dirt.
Chris, do me a favor and leasn closer to the**SLAP!**

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 10:05 PM

OK, that’s a typo, I’m going to bed…if I can sleep after Weight of Glory’s wet Rosie/Chris Matthews imagery from 9:31. Thanks a lot.

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 10:09 PM

With Matthews ratings worse than Olberdouche, he needs to do something to get some of Olberdouche’s viewers(The Kos Kids).

xplodeit on August 13, 2007 at 10:10 PM

Pure jealousy over Rove’s success. I love watching CM getting his panties in a bunch, cause he’s got nutin!

Kini on August 13, 2007 at 10:19 PM

Dork B. on August 13, 2007 at 10:09 PM

You’re right, that was way out of line. I repent. Sleep tight.

Weight of Glory on August 13, 2007 at 10:37 PM

Chris Matthews sure is not rocking the
M.etro S.exual N.uclear B.lithering C.arnival

Chris and Olbermann are competing for blithering awards!

You all have been very funny! Thanks for the laughs!!

Mcguyver on August 13, 2007 at 10:37 PM

Is Chris Matthews still looking for “Bums” ?

Maybe he should read the Koran “Booty oh the Booty !”

William Amos on August 13, 2007 at 10:53 PM

Let’s not forget Chrissy’s tag-team partner,

June 13, 2006, MSNBC

David Shuster: “Well, Karl Rove’s legal team has told me that they expect that a decision will come sometime in the next two weeks. And I am convinced that Karl Rove will, in fact, be indicted.

MSNBC …. where truth takes a backseat to half-@ssed predictions.

fogw on August 13, 2007 at 11:27 PM

Chris Matthews makes me wanna kick puppies :/ I really dislike that guy.

apollyonbob on August 13, 2007 at 11:56 PM

David Shuster… what a moron.

As for Matthews, he’s just pathetic — almost to the point of empathy… I said almost

D2Boston on August 13, 2007 at 11:56 PM

For a good time… shout “Karl Rove” during a party attended by Chris Matthews and watch CM break into an uncontrollable drool-lubricated rant. Credit: Pavlov

T J Green on August 14, 2007 at 12:11 AM

So much for fair journalism. Thanks for playing nutball Chris. Time to come down off that ledge you’re standing on.

thedecider on August 14, 2007 at 12:19 AM

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Iran-Contra thing. Where the hell did that come from?

Allahpundit on August 13, 2007 at 9:13 PM

My guess…

He was just reading from a less than completely updated script written for the resignation of a member of the Reagan Administration.

Or like others here have mentioned a Freudian Slip.
As in, speaking of one Repub. “scandal” is speaking of them all.

soundingboard on August 14, 2007 at 2:32 AM

Capt. Malaise loses ultimate battle with Kryptonite Karl.

Olberboy promises heartbroken Malaise new pair of tights and cape as consolation.

TheSitRep on August 13, 2007 at 9:53 PM

Freudian leakage. LMAO!

In 5 billion years, as the Sun goes supernova, the last living humanoid, just before perishing in flame, will use his or her last breath to scream, “I blame Bush!”
