I’ve spent 20+ years mastering the guitar and I still have a long, long way to go.

Being good at Guitar Hero doesn’t make you a real guitar player any more than being good at Madden makes you Peyton Manning.

As an avid Guitar Hero player, the advice I would give for this song is to not slap or flick the strum switch. Instead, watch Deliverance, and notice the fingerpicking. Imitate the fingerpicking rhythm and you will hit every note.

PS: if someone knows how to add songs to Guitar Hero, please direct me there. I want to play it with some serious Dick Dale guitar thrashing.

That finger dancing thing linked above…wow – just, wow. All I learned in college (extracurricularly) was how to flick bottle caps with EVIL precision. But then…we had no game consoles, and PCs were still not in every dormroom yet. (87-88)

I used to be addicted to Fighter Ace, I joined a squandron and all that, great fun, but man next thing you know 12 hours have gone by!

I second the motion that if your fingers are that good, you ought to be playing an actual instrument.

Does that mean I should stop nagging my 18 year old to get off the couch and get a job?? Cus he can get through Freebird without a mistake. Is there a job market for that?

Yeah, if he can inject some life back into the sissyfied so-called “rock” we’ve had to endure ever since those whiny Seattle losers first mumbled into a mic while staring at their shoes. Now, THERE’S a market.

I understand the first-person shooter games, the racing games and all that. They allow someone to pretend to do something most people would never be able to do in reality.

OK, old guitar player (and obvious techno-magnon) here. I’ll slink off into my outdated world now.

Ha, seriously though. Is this the PS3 version? I’ve got the Xbox 360 one, and Deliverance mostly definitely isn’t on there.

Need to check that out, maybe it’s a downloadable song.

My kids play Guitar Hero. I stink, big time.

However, I can do a pretty impressive finger song of Row, Row, Row Your Boat—but it’s nothing compared to this girl.
