He tacked right on civil unions three months ago, to the obvious displeasure of the gay New Yorker who produced this. It’s the video equivalent of a nutroots blackface photoshop, albeit with more humor: Rudy’s guilty of having betrayed the cause and now he must pay by wearing around his neck the gay stereotype which he’s allegedly (but not really) perpetuating by opposing domestic partnerships in New Hampshire. Never mind the fact that he still proclaims his support for civil unions and gay rights knowing that it’ll potentially cost him millions of evangelical votes.
Purely coincidentally, one of the people this guy lists as a “hero” is Kos.

Pretty funny.
Rudy can’t get a break this week, can he?
Rightwingsparkle on August 7, 2007 at 10:35 PM
Hey, was that second guy…. oh, never mind.
TheBigOldDog on August 7, 2007 at 10:39 PM
*sigh*
Why does every loud political gay person have to be, pardon the pun, straight out of a stereotype?
We ain’t all flaming queens who vote on only one issue…and I for one am sick of the vocal minority of gays who make the vast majority of us look silly…
JetBoy on August 7, 2007 at 10:40 PM
In fairness, I think they’re using the stereotype ironically here. This isn’t them being themselves.
Or maybe it is. No idea.
Allahpundit on August 7, 2007 at 10:42 PM
How can we possibly lampoon this stuff?
Don’t politicians get it? Bush was put into the White House TWICE by the evangelical vote. DUH!
Mojave Mark on August 7, 2007 at 10:50 PM
This was also my thought/confusion.
nailinmyeye on August 7, 2007 at 10:53 PM
AP…
I hear ya…after a bit of checking, there is no active site by that name, and there is THIS on a local paper from yesterday about the vid…
Coincidental also is that he claims to be a right-winger, who then campaigned for Howard Dean in VT?
In any event…I agree that it’s probably somewhere in between “serious” and “satire”…but my initial response that the vocal minority makes the rest of us look bad stands. There was a story recently about some San Diego (?) firefighters who, rightly, are suing for “harassment” over being forced to march in a Gay Pride parade…saying that when they previously had, they were constanly mocked with rude gestures, etc…
I hope people realize that is not who the vast majority of gays in this country are…sorry, just venting a little…
JetBoy on August 7, 2007 at 10:55 PM
Wasn’t that sweet. You know that Rudy will appreciate it sooooo very much.

John Edwards’ hairdresser?
My collie says:
Okay, okay. I’m sorry.
So answer me this:
“Why didn’t any of the Democratic candidates talk about gay RIGHTS at the Olbergasm tonight?”
CyberCipher on August 7, 2007 at 10:58 PM
meh…that ain’t no stereotype…find me a straight hairdresser, and eat my hat.
JetBoy on August 7, 2007 at 11:01 PM
oops…”and I’ll eat my hat”
That Dem debate fried my mind…time for sleep
JetBoy on August 7, 2007 at 11:03 PM
Oh, it’s definitely satire. Follow the link I provided (on “displeasure”) and then click on the guy’s profile after you read the post. He’s a lefty.
Allahpundit on August 7, 2007 at 11:05 PM
I did see that….his MySpace page on that link…yeah, he’s a lefty for sure. Or at least a Democrat…maybe not a nutroot leftist…
And plenty of Democrats…and many gays in NYC…did vote for Rudy in the city…
The camera shots definetly look like they came from a film student…good, but “placed” if you know what I mean…Is it complete satire? Still not sure…ya had to post this, eh? *shakes head*
JetBoy on August 7, 2007 at 11:12 PM
The line you quoted about no less than five domestic partners is a dead give away. They are playing on the “They wanna marry but can’t stay committed.”
Without even following the link, this is no less than Silky outting Cheney’s daughter thinking that Conservatives would drop their support.

countable nouns, countable nouns
no fewer than…
and I’m gonna go to sleep, not watch the vid.

I wish I still had a link to the article I read about 2 weeks ago. It had some great statistics on how Homosexual marriage declined very shortly after it was legalized in the few states that had it.
The basic gist of the article was that homosexuals really don’t want to get married, they just want to undermine the institution of marriage.
Irenaeus on August 8, 2007 at 12:38 AM
I totally agree with you, but I think the “acting” here was purposefully over the top to try and scare traditional GOP voters away from Rudy by being the in-your-face-we’re-here-we’re-queer personna so many expect from us gays.
I’ve never understood why democrats pander so hard to us gays anyway. It’s not like we’re a huge voting bloc anyways.
SouthernGent on August 8, 2007 at 1:16 AM
May God help them (and us).
Zorro on August 8, 2007 at 6:56 AM
Doesn’t everyone want a president who was in drag at one time or another?
And, if homosupport isn’t enough for you enlightened hipsters, Rudiani and Judiani can share wardrobe, which means WH savings and lower taxes for a middle-class already under fire.
Why even consider anyone else for the WH?

This is a satire piece designed as an anti-Rudy ad.
jihadwatcher on August 8, 2007 at 7:07 AM
well this gay is for Guiliani, GO RUDY!

Same reason that there were black people in blackface back in the early part of the 20th century. It was apparently funny and unquestionably non-threatening.
I’ve met 1 fa-laming homosexual (to quote Homer) in my life, and that was during my second stint at university. I imagine it was an attempt to be an individual… Other than that, unless someone told me they were gay, I didn’t know.
Krydor on August 8, 2007 at 8:34 AM
This just simply shows how racist and sexist and homophobic the left really is. But we all new that didn’t we.
400lb Gorilla on August 8, 2007 at 9:00 AM
Finally, some talk about GAY PEOPLE and GAY ISSUES.
Thanks Allah I knew you’d come thru.
TheSitRep on August 8, 2007 at 9:26 AM
w……….t……..f?
LOL!
I really have no idea how the hell you get to that conclusion from that ‘evidence’. Could it be that those that wanted to get ‘married’ simply did so asap after the law was put into effect? Of course it went down shortly after it became law. Partners that wanted to make things ‘official’ wanted to jump at the chance as soon as they could.
As far as gays just wanting to ‘undermine’ marriage….you mean just out of spite or some kind of grudge? Seriously? Please tell me you aren’t that vapid.
Now don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with those that want to keep ‘unions’ to just straight people. In my view, it should continue to be up to each individual state. But hey, I’m just a traditionalist that actually believes in state’s rights and the intentions of the Constitution, so whatever. :-P

I’m sure it’s true that you aren’t all like that; clearly people aren’t cookie cutter no matter their similar interests.
However, something’s bothered me. The first gay person I ever met, aside from girls in high school who wanted to be edgy by having a girlfriend, was nothing like the stereotypes. I would never have guessed in a million years that he was gay.
At the store, he acted very much like a straight man, but away from the store, he’d talk and in every way act the stereotype of a gay person. Why? Is it more attractive to gay men if a man speaks in a higher pitch? I thought being a gay man was all about liking men, but the stereotypical gay person doesn’t act like most men do at all.
I never understood why he would do that.
Also, an old roommate who studied speech pathology explained to me that men who talk that way often have to have surgery on their vocal cords, since they weren’t meant to be strained that way for so long.

Incidentally, one of my favorite talk radio hosts is a always-on-target conservative. He has a weekly interview with Ann Coulter and has done so for the past many years. His politics and sexuality do not mix.
