Pandering idiot uses official Senate seal on Yearly Kos video

posted at 3:46 pm on August 6, 2007 by Allahpundit

When you have a history of groveling to people who’ve told you to go f*** yourself, you’ve got to find a way to up the ante. He found it.

Seriously, though, this is a stupid rule. He’s a senator, everyone knows he’s a senator, he’ll be referred to as “senator” during his next re-election campaign, and no one thinks he’s “representing” the full Senate when he uses the seal. He’s bound by the regs like everyone else but the regs on this point are stupid.

Proof positive, though, that Sgt. David Aguina wasn’t the only one there this weekend leveraging a symbol of government authority.

Hey, I just timed the timing.

Since I’m just a commenter I don’t have to show respect to that Dick. Since he called the staff at Gitmo Nazis, he has been referred to as Tick Turban in my house.

It you really want to lower my opinion of Tick Turban it will take more than pandering to the loony left.

Dick Durbin is the absolute lousiest senator my state of Illinois has ever had. He is the Official Yes-Man of the Democratic Party, and as a senator, he hasn’t done much except embarrass the state. I can’t say he has embarrassed himself, because the man has absolutely no shame. Everett Dirksen must be spinning in his grave every time this idiot opens his mouth!

If the elite of the GOP collectively have more than two brain cells to rub together, they’re collecting up piles of samples, URLs and screenshots of Kossack brand hate speech, anti-Semitism, 9/11 and other conspiracy theorizing(if it hasn’t all been purged), troop hatred, Dictator cheerleading, Marxist pining and general America hating.

I doubt that they’re doing that though, the GOP leadership is a bunch of vapid braindead morons.

Bad Candy on August 6, 2007 at 4:01 PM

Durbin is a despicable fool and represents everything his country shouldn’t be.

rplat on August 6, 2007 at 4:01 PM

Too bad a more senior Senator wasn’t there to threaten to court marshal him.

“On one occasion, the air conditioning had been turned down so far and the temperature was so cold in the room, that the barefooted detainee was shaking with cold. ….. On another occasion, the [air conditioner] had been turned off, making the temperature in the unventilated room well over 100 degrees. The detainee was almost unconscious on the floor, with a pile of hair next to him. He had apparently been literally pulling his hair out throughout the night. On another occasion, not only was the temperature unbearably hot, but extremely loud rap music was being played in the room, and had been since the day before, with the detainee chained hand and foot in the fetal position on the tile floor.

If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime–Pol Pot or others–that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.”

Let’s see, the Nazi’s slaughtered millions while Mengele performed vivisections and injected chemicals into living peoples’ eyes to try to change them. The Soviets used the gulags to make slave laborers out of political dissidents and killed more than 15 millions people. Pol Pot’s regime’s policies caused the death of around one fifth of the population, 1.7 million people, either from starvation, overwork, disease or murder.

yeah, that’s exactly the same.

Dick.

I disagree. The use of the Senate seal should be limited to OFFICIAL functions of the Senate. Durbin was not speaking/acting in an official capacity. More importantly, this is one of those basic ethical things that the greenest intern knows (like not using the government phones for campaigning or not using your franking privileges to send out a fundraising letter). Durbin or his flunkies clearly knew they were breaking the rules when they put this video together. My theory is that Durbin wanted to make sure the moonbats remembered that he was the one that called to troops genocidal killers and nazis (lest he be confused with Kerry’s troops are morons comment).

I don’t want to be accused of piling on, but.

This weekend when I was relieving myself at a VFW Club here in Florida, I noticed that the Dick Durbin urinal target did indeed include the “Official Senate Seal”.

It kind of makes you long for the simpler days when Hanoi Jane had a monopoly on the Urinal Target biz.

Sorta like regs for soldiers in uniform supporting their fellow grunts at political events.

Stupid is prevalent in our society, at all levels.

pilamaye, do you remember Carol Moseley Braun?

CUS on August 6, 2007 at 5:30 PM

The legitimizing of the KOS by using the official seal of the Senate only encourages where future and new voters can go to be propagandized.

volsense on August 6, 2007 at 5:31 PM

Guys, leave him alone… he can’t keep track of all these rules and regs when he’s busy trying to come up with ways to call the troops Nazis, etc.

Never forget what this evil SOB said about those serving at Gitmo:

If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings. I originally thought you’d have to be lower than whale excrement in order to get lower than Dick Durbin. Unfortunely, I hear understand it floats. What’s lower than what poop? Beuhler? Anyone?

I agree with all above and below criticism of the TurbinDurbin.. this is the Jane Fonda of our times.. Turbin is turning the state of Ill. (Ill like in sick) into a sanctuary state..He’s actually looking forward to other states getting tough on the illegals so they are all dumped here..this way him and the Osama can’t lose..pathetic p.o.s’s these two are..

He reminds me of the dork in school that always had to show off his pocket protector.

oakpack on August 6, 2007 at 10:23 PM

In the Chicago mob tradition, everyone must have a nickname. I have been calling him Dick the Weenie for years, but he has outgrown it.

His new mob name shall be Dickie the Douchebag.

Haha, that’s what I actually think whenever I see Harry Reid… Reid also always seems like he’s half asleep or high or something as well.

We in Springfield know that his position on any thing depends on what will garner votes. When he was running locally, and being from a heavily Catholic neighborhood he was strongly Pro-Life. My wife and his gave Right to life lectures. He was the keynote speaker at the Right to Life annual banquet. When he ran for national office,he suddenly “matured” in his thinking and became Pro Choice in order to get elected state wide. Like all liberal democrats, he will flip flop on moral principles in order to get and hold power. It’s hard to watch to what depths the Land of Lincoln has degenerated. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a Senator of which we can be proud.

driller on August 7, 2007 at 9:42 AM

driller,

that’s amazing. I never knew anything about this douche until he ran for Senator. He has been sickening us up in Chicago ever since. What an embarrassment it must be to Catholics to have such a dishonest, conniving maggot claiming to be a member of God’s One True Church ™.
