Open thread: Michelle hosts the Factor Video Added

posted at 7:50 pm on August 6, 2007 by Bryan

Some good topics up tonight, including the Kos convention and “diversity,” a debate about the South Korean hostages (which Michelle has covered almost single-handedly), and the madrassa in Brooklyn. Opine away — highlights to come after the show.

Update: Here’s the highlight reel, with blogger Rick Moran, a knock on Obama’s “hey, let’s invade Pakistan” comment, and some details about the Brooklyn madrassa.

Prom King and Queen at the Nutroot convention.

ROFLMAO! Go Michelle!

TheBigOldDog on August 6, 2007 at 8:03 PM

Kos bans truthers, so they wouldn’t be allowed at YearlyKos. No uniforms and no truther shirts allowed.

rw on August 6, 2007 at 8:04 PM

Juan Williams is a tool

Kowboy on August 6, 2007 at 8:06 PM

Oh man. Juan Williams is equating Kos with right wing talk radio. Here we go again…

nailinmyeye on August 6, 2007 at 8:06 PM

She looks just lovely, as usual.

Juan is trying to equate the Koskids with the right side. Sorry just no comparison.

Rightwingsparkle on August 6, 2007 at 8:07 PM

Nobody’s going to a Michael Savage convention Juan you tool!

TheBigOldDog on August 6, 2007 at 8:07 PM

Williams’ only answer is: the right does it too. No denouncing of what actually is said – just “well you started it.” What an a$$.

nailinmyeye on August 6, 2007 at 8:08 PM

Michael Savage??? Who thinks of him representing us?

My gosh. He HATES Bush as much as the Koskids.

Rightwingsparkle on August 6, 2007 at 8:08 PM

Kowboy…Correction: Juan Williams is a tool BAG.

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:08 PM

Kowboy…Correction: Juan Williams is a tool BAG.

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:08 PM

Well then he’s an empty tool bag. There are certainly no ball bearings in it.

Kowboy on August 6, 2007 at 8:10 PM

Yes, I am now EXTREME SPARKLE!

Let me get my cape.

Rightwingsparkle on August 6, 2007 at 8:11 PM

So THAT is Rick Moran, eh? It’s a family show tonight.

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:13 PM

Thank you James Na. That was the way to open, ask from prayers, the pastor? It is the US’s fault, not the taliban.

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:14 PM

Yes, I am now EXTREME SPARKLE!

Rightwingsparkle on August 6, 2007 at 8:11 PM

Grabbing my sunglasses due to the extra sparkle. :)

F15Mech on August 6, 2007 at 8:15 PM

I love how the Korean hostage crisis is seriously viewed by some as America’s fault. Why is it so hard to place the rightful blame on their -terrorist captors-?

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:15 PM

A “true religion of peace”! Go Michelle!

nailinmyeye on August 6, 2007 at 8:17 PM

Pboilermaker….you forgot, everything is our fault…

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:17 PM

Sorry if this has come up already but is Bill O’Reilly planning on retiring soon? It seems we’ve been seeing alot more of MM as guest host of the Factor lately (A good thing to be sure).

Yakko77 on August 6, 2007 at 8:17 PM

Pboilermaker….you forgot, everything is our fault…

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:17 PM

how can ANYONE defend vick in this manner?

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:23 PM

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:08 PM

That’s an insult to well equipped tool bags everywhere! (LOL!)

TheBigOldDog on August 6, 2007 at 8:24 PM

Lynching?? The NAACP is equating Vicks’ prosecution with a lynching???

Have they NO shame?

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:24 PM

Surprise surprise, R.L. White pulls the race card to defend Vick.

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:24 PM

Like the Duke boys Mr White? Don’t convict them before the trial?

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:25 PM

Didn’t the NAACP “convict” the Duke LAX players prior to their day in court?

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:25 PM

Michelle has got to get her own show. Her interviews are to the point and she has got her act together.

Good girl Michelle.

BobK on August 6, 2007 at 8:26 PM

Can anyone else envision MLK turning over in his grave on that one???

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 8:26 PM

Next thing you know the NAACP is going to try to have the prosecutors charged with hate crimes for even thinking about filing charges against Vick.

Kowboy on August 6, 2007 at 8:26 PM

nailinmyeye on August 6, 2007 at 8:30 PM

LOL go Vermont!!!

Skiing and Ben and Jerrys (and maybe some trees that will not be able to be cut down).

F15Mech on August 6, 2007 at 8:30 PM

I’ve never been to Vermont, but I will never go.

Those people are farking nuts.

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:31 PM

The main differences between the mainstream channels of discourse employed by the left and the right are stark:

1) The right typically welcomes challengers and dissenters.

2) The right is wholly intolerant of blatant racism and anti-semitism. Leftists seem to dismiss their own cultural indiscretions. Often they will use race, gender and/or religion to attack those with whom they disagree.

3) Right thinkers and commentators typically have better résumés.

4) Women on the right are just plain easier on the eyes.

5) The left has a better sense of humor no shame.

Just my opinions.

The Race Card on August 6, 2007 at 8:32 PM

Then only good thing about Vermont is their gun laws.

F15Mech on August 6, 2007 at 8:32 PM

So if Vermont becomes it own country,
can we declare war on it?
I got some new weapons systems that I’d like to test.

CyberCipher on August 6, 2007 at 8:32 PM

Yakko77 on August 6, 2007 at 8:17 PM

Seems to me he has said that he doesn’t want to do this for a long time, and bringing her in to carry the mantle is a great idea.

As always, my obligatory Michelle and Melissa perhaps?

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:35 PM

I will never understand how an American citizen can, with a straight face, smugly state that they hate America yet refuse to leave it.

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:35 PM

Gosh, it’s nice to be able to watch the Factor without the uneasy expectation that Bill will suffer a vein-popping aneurysm before our very eyes.

MM is totally watchable. Having her on with increasing frequency is truly a credit to Fox News.

BJ Phisch on August 6, 2007 at 8:35 PM

Slow news day when BO has a puke like that Dr fron Vermont on the program. Poor MM having to put up with that crap on her show.

Wade on August 6, 2007 at 8:35 PM

If Vermonters leave, at least leave behind the potters for the rest of us, will you?

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:37 PM

Why they showed that as a flashback, I have no idea, the only “natural resources card” Vermont has is trees and dairy.

NH and Maine at least offer waterways to the Atlantic.

F15Mech on August 6, 2007 at 8:38 PM

I’ve never seen Carrie before

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:39 PM

There we go. The war is Bush’s fault. Never mind the fact that Hillary and all her pals who originally voted for the war had access to exactly the same intelligence Bush did.

Kowboy on August 6, 2007 at 8:42 PM

A “teaching moment.” I hate that phrase sooooo much.

nailinmyeye on August 6, 2007 at 8:49 PM

It appears a fundamental precept of Liberalism is to duck responsibility at all costs, no matter how much damage that may cause.

PBoilermaker on August 6, 2007 at 8:49 PM

Great. A madrassa in Brooklyn. Will trees grow there ever again?

CrimsonFisted on August 6, 2007 at 8:50 PM

Well, trees may never grow again, but you can count on animosity towards Americans growing now can’t you?

commonsensehoosier on August 6, 2007 at 9:27 PM

Watching the news was never so enjoyable.

Great job (as usual) Michelle. Thanks.

Zorro on August 6, 2007 at 9:43 PM

Oh man. Juan Williams is equating Kos with right wing talk radio. Here we go again…

Juan Williams is your typical Leftist. He applies double standards whenever his side is challenged. He does not possess the intellectual integrity to look at it fairly.

Gatordoug on August 6, 2007 at 9:53 PM

She looks just lovely, as usual.

Michelle is a truly lovely woman, looks and brains, THAT is true beauty. Fox should give her her own show. She has earned that I think.

Gatordoug on August 6, 2007 at 9:56 PM

Williams’ only answer is: the right does it too. No denouncing of what actually is said – just “well you started it.” What an a$$.

Yep! Once again, Williams typifies the childishness and intellectual bankruptcy of the left. Of course, Williams has a history of saying incredibly hurtful and stupid things. Like comparing Confederate soldiers to Nazis. Historically inaccurate and asinine, but Williams isn’t interested in facts at all, he is an emotionalist, like may on the left are.

Gatordoug on August 6, 2007 at 10:01 PM

Lynching?? The NAACP is equating Vicks’ prosecution with a lynching???

Have they NO shame?

That is all the NAACP has. They have to create a need for their own existence don’t they? This is why their leadership race baits at every turn. Fact is most folks care not about skin color, America has moved past that. But, for the NAACP, it is about keeping racism alive, even if they have to invent it. All about job security with their leaders.

Gatordoug on August 6, 2007 at 10:05 PM

I can’t believe that story about the ‘public school’ in NYC… with Bloomberg hiding under the desk…this should be brought up if this spineless mayor decides to throw his hat in the presidential ring…

DCJeff on August 6, 2007 at 10:40 PM

The Factor has become a sideshow.
Michelle is betting her career on the wrong horse.

She needs to strike out on her own and calm down. She has the right ideas and arguments, which makes her theatrics all the more unnecessary.

unamused on August 6, 2007 at 11:17 PM

Here’s the question to ask Juan Williams: if Vick were white, would he (Williams) still be among his defenders?

Doug on August 7, 2007 at 1:13 AM

Juan Williams is as dumb as a sack of hammers.

Where was all the “diversity” that the Left annoints themselves with? The Kos audience clip looked like awfully white, middle aged and ugly to me.

Just sayin’.

Jack Deth on August 7, 2007 at 1:44 AM

Obama is a divider! He’s caused us to lose respect in the world! He’s causing us to lose our allies!

MirCat on August 7, 2007 at 2:00 AM

It seems to me as though the moral relativists who are equating rightwing talk radio with KOS haven’t read KOS or the comments made there.

Cao on August 7, 2007 at 6:48 AM

“Let’s not rush to judgment” is the mantra of “responsible” Black leaders in the upcoming Michael Vick case despite overwhelming evidence of guilt. Yet these same “responsible” leaders were advocating a “lynching” in the Tawana Brawley and Duke frauds where there was NEVER any evidence of guilt. Discrimination anyone?

MaiDee on August 7, 2007 at 8:56 AM

“Were those Karl Rove plants, Michael?”

Ha!

Michelle, spot-on as usual.

Malpaso on August 7, 2007 at 9:27 AM

One thing I wish, when someone brings up when Dick Cheney used the F-word, that that was during a “private” conversation. Cheney didn’t go on a blog and make that comment.

Sigh.

moonsbreath on August 7, 2007 at 10:51 AM

Great show, as is par for the course. I’ve been seeing enough of “The Michelle Factor” lately that it’s going to feel like a great big let-down when Bill what’s-his-name comes back for a stretch.

Spurius Ligustinus on August 7, 2007 at 2:27 PM

As much as I enjoy Hot Air and Ms. Malkin, the lousy quality and downloading problems with videos on this site that have occured since your “upgrade” are about to drive me away. Every video has interruptions that can no longer be cured by giving the report time to download. I miss Michelle’s Vents (her work for Fox just is not a substitute) a great deal. Your redesign stinks.

doufree on August 8, 2007 at 8:23 AM

uhhh dude.

he also said it directly to a United States Senator. Which is quite a bit more offensive then mentioning it on some blog.

sigh.

I am going to do everything in my power to convince FOX to give MM her own show. It’s much more interesting when she’s there. She’s a brilliant woman and I pity the fool who ticks her off. I will have everyone I know email FOX. I bet the ratings skyrocket when she’s there too.

PoliticallyIncorrectSandy on August 9, 2007 at 12:04 AM

p.s. douchee needs to quit whining. Your videos are fine.

Not to mention, Michelle’s very existence causes the deep-seated racism of the left to froth forward. So soon as Michelle gets a show on Fox, expect to see all manner of Twinkie, servin’ the white man, and Filipina whore idiocy come back in force all over the irrelevant toilet bowl that is the left-wing blogosphere. They might even put Michelle in blackface or do another poorly made bikini photoshop.

Michelle brings out the very worst qualities in the left, and the very best qualities in everyone else. She’s a godsend and a blessing for the entirety of the critical thinking society. Integrity, brains, guts, and she ain’t bad lookin’ neither. I hope FOX does put her on, her first show could even be screen captures of all the left-wing hate sites balking at the news.

BKennedy on August 9, 2007 at 2:49 AM

KOS kids continue to prove the old* saying:

“An empty barrel makes the most noise”

I really don’t understand why anyone pays them any attention.

Until Michelle has me on as a guest, “the Factor” will remain a low rent vehicle for shopworn talents.

Me, I’d bring the thong.

Edginess, baby.

Jeff G on August 9, 2007 at 2:09 PM

If Juan Williams says 1+1=2…it doesn’t! He’s been wrong about everything he has ever said about everything about everything ever!

sabbott on August 9, 2007 at 5:22 PM

I would love for liberals to go back in history and find Juan Williams quotes and put them on the internet! What a scream! He’s an idiot! Everything he has ever said has proven to be wrong…EVERYTHING!!! Someone prove me wrong! Can’t? Bitches! Didn’t think so! Liberals are NEVER right but nobody makes them pay!
