WaPo hit piece on Jeri a complete bore

She’s a demanding boss and she used to have a boyfriend and she was in a car accident once and zzzzzzzzzzz. The one interesting bit in the whole piece:
Despite the unglamorous nature of her first job [as a spokesman for the RNC] in Washington, Jeri Thompson’s supporters today describe her as a powerful political operative. Whether that label fits her roughly five years of full-time work here is hard to determine, given the relatively low profile she kept at her various jobs. An exception was a 1999 appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” to criticize a skit that President Bill Clinton did the night before at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. “I’m certain that I’m not the only American that was incredibly appalled at the fact that Bill Clinton is more credible as a clown than he is as a president,” she told O’Reilly.
We must see the tape, Bill. We must.
Newsweek had a mini-hit piece on her yesterday, too. Money: “People are starting to wonder if she’s more into this than he is.” Old CW: Jeri as brainless arm candy. New CW: Jeri as Angela Lansbury in “The Manchurian Candidate.”
According to Tim Russert, September 5th is the day.
Update: Tangentially related, “my big testosteronefactor husband”?

Well, it would coincide with the new NBC Fall Schedule. If he runs, the Equal Time provision would have seriously messed NBC up for every rerun of Law & Order with Fred!!!!!! in it. Actually, I hereby change Fred! to Fred~, because tildas rule.
So Fred~ was very nice and made sure he didn’t declare and totally screw his old network. And for that, I’m sure they’re going to write nice checks to his campaign.
So don’t be surprised if he pushes back to around Sept 24th, the official start of the new NBC season. But he may get away with Sept. 5th, so long as Sunday Night Football preempts Law & Order.

Well lets see…
So far according to the MSM Fred! is a Pro-Choice RINO who cow-tows to his scheming bitch of a wife because he’s otherwise too old to get a woman that good looking without all the fame and fortune he has.
Hmmm….
Nawp. Ain’t buyin’ it.
PAIN TRAIN’S COMIN’ BAY-BEE!!!!

So,
if Hillary was good looking she would be a trophy-wife, power hungry biaatch?
hmmm

Yeah! and I can remember the day back in the nineties when Tim came on TV with a bulletin that BJ Clinton was going to name his new dog after his (Tim’s) son Luke.
Tim ain’t the best prognosticator around.

I can’t remember an election cycle where the MSM has gone after a candidate’s spouse this early. I think it’s a mistake by the left.
The conservative media should be doing their research now, but holding off on the disclosures and opinions until after the primaries. The disclosures will then have more effect on the general outcome. The left wing media are doing this because they expect Clinton to be the Democtrat nominee, and they know that if that’s the case, Bill is going to get spanked. Apparently, they also think Fred’s going to be the Republican nominee. I thought the Left didn’t believe in preemptive strikes.

“The Advocacy Media – you know, that tiny 90% minority of the press corps that always votes for and gives its money to the Democrats.”
Damn fetid meatbags.
Merovign on August 5, 2007 at 4:00 PM
The number of articles about Fred! and Fred!’s spouse is like wearing mirrored sunglasses when you are playing poker.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm….I wonder what they are up too????
Seriously, either the left knows it has a big problem with a Fred! candidacy or Fred! is pulling the best dodge and fake against the opposition while the other candidates gather steam.
Limerick on August 5, 2007 at 4:10 PM
From now on Sept. 4 will be known as “Fred Thompson Eve”
I think getting out all his dirty laundry now will be better in the end. People have very short memories by the time the primaries come all the scandals will be behind him.

You know, when she appeared briefly in that video he sent to the pro life group, she had her two young children in tow. Ok, ’splain to me how she can raise those two small children and be the power hungry beeyotch that the MSM is portraying her as? Would Fred! allow his kids to be neglected like that? I doubt it. I have no evidence, just speculating. And if she were power mad this way, we would have seen Fred! much more often over the years, to achieve that goal.
I am not buying it. She comes across as a happily married wife and mother. And, from what I read, successful at her own career too. I think she will make a fine First Lady.
Here’s hoping!

“According to Tim Russert, September 5th is the day.”
Probably wanted to wait until everyone was home from Burning Man.
When is General P supposed to give his report to Congress?
crosspatch on August 5, 2007 at 4:30 PM
If the MSM isn’t bashing Israel, stealth-editing dubious articles, or doing stories on Paris Hilton, they’re writing hit pieces on the wives of candidates they don’t like.
Can’t go much lower, or can they?
forest on August 5, 2007 at 4:51 PM
Apparently both the left is very afraid of Fred and Jeri and apparently they can’t come up with much on either of them.
Buzzy on August 5, 2007 at 5:11 PM
These lame hitpieces on this babe are really pathetic. Honestly, I’ve never even heard a word from her mouth and I can say I’d take seeing her or nearly any other woman in the White House before I have to look at Chavez in a Pantsuit much longer.
That photo off Drudge last nigth has left me in desperate search of eyebleach.

Thanks, but you don’t have to give me credit. ;)
Spirit of 1776 on August 5, 2007 at 6:21 PM
Yes, well… the question for me at this point is “Will President Fred Thompson run for a second term in 2012, or will Jeri Thompson run for the 2012 term?” lol
Franklin Hill on August 5, 2007 at 6:24 PM
Spouses of candidates, be they male or female should be seen and not heard. They should be irrelevant.
I reckon it’s fair game to attack a candidate’s spouse if they open themselves up for scrutiny by running their mouth..
TheSitRep on August 5, 2007 at 6:25 PM
Yes, but what kind of announcement?
For all we know, Fred is announcing the postponement of his announcement.
BKennedy on August 5, 2007 at 6:31 PM
In September, people will be paying attention. It is vacation time in the real world.
Russert, who I like to call Mr. FBI, should be run out of town on a rail for his behavior in the Plame Affair. He spilled his guts then lied about it. Not credible, much like his network.

Somewhere csdeven is polishing his snipers rifle that he got from ex-army man Stoltz, as sweat beads off his forehead through his saturated red bandana as he stares out his fifth floor office window overlooking the state building.
I’ll teach you, Freddie boy, to own a red pickup and not drive it, he thinks to himself.
jihadwatcher on August 5, 2007 at 10:05 PM
They’re worried because, should Thompson become President, Jeri will overthrow Jackie O as the “prettiest” First Lady.
I put quotes around it because, truth be told, I never did find Jackie O to be all that pretty, even in her heyday. Jeri Thompson, on the other hand, is legitimately attractive.

thebrokenchair on August 5, 2007 at 10:53 PM
It’s becoming clearer by the day that these two are nothing but a couple of Washington insiders who aren’t satisfied with their limited status in that arena.
I believe the final chapter in this non-campaign will be freddie boy dropping out, taking all the contributions, starting another PAC, hiring his family to run it, and paying them the lions share of the coffers while doing little to nothing for conservative causes.
He’s done it before. I wonder if that is why he delayed so long to decide if he was going to run for senate this last time? Was he padding the coffers of his senate war chest, knowing full well that he wouldn’t run and could get it all into his sons pocket?
I wonder how a person could go about finding out when and how much money fred? collected just previous to his senate non-run?

If you beat me to the punch I’ll buy you a Hotair t shirt.

Fawning over Jeri Thompson is like fawning over Michele Malkin.
She’s a happily married woman people, get over yourselves already. (Note: I also say this because both of them are too old for me [Not a sleight, I just graduated college, don't ban me Michelle!])
BKennedy on August 6, 2007 at 12:49 AM
ya know Bill Clinton is wantin’ some Jeri
jediwebdude on August 6, 2007 at 1:01 AM
Seems like the MSM is doing everything they can to stop Fred’s candidacy before it starts. Methinks they doth protest too much.
Texas Nick 77 on August 6, 2007 at 1:47 AM
This is the best they can do? This is it? This is what the “don’t vote for Fred” group comes up with?
After the “No on Fred” group run out of Media Matters propaganda, this is what they are left (get it, left) with.
Well, they can always go back to the old “he drove a red pick-up truck” line.
right2bright on August 6, 2007 at 9:57 AM
She is fair game as she has injected herself into the political process and become less a wife than a ball busting campaign Czar.
But clearly, this minor compared to freddie boys history of lies, lobbying, and involvement as a Washington insider.
csdeven on August 6, 2007 at 10:22 AM
Damn, cs, no mention of the breasts. Off your game a bit this morning.
KelliD on August 6, 2007 at 10:42 AM
I’m waiting for the groupies to use her “hotness” as a qualification for fred? to be president. At that point, her breasts are fair game.
csdeven on August 6, 2007 at 10:44 AM
Fred Thomspon ‘08: “Because my trophy wife still has perky breasts.”
Believe it!
