Illegal immigrant — the video game

It drops next month. Level one: evade the jackbooted ICE pigs in New York City. (Not kidding about the jackboots — see the last screenshot here.) Level two: escape from the San Antonio-Birkenau immigration detention center. Level three: commit a felony so unspeakable that even Geraldo Rivera calls for your deportation. Rumor has it that this level is unbeatable. Level four: win the game by playing as John McCain and convincing even one conservative that you give a wet shinola about securing the border.
I’ve got a hunch that among the many Teachable Moments of which the gameplay is comprised, not one involves refusing to commit a crime by entering the U.S. illegally.

The graphics remind me of the original Rainbow Six game.

“Boisvert said they didn’t talk to immigration authorities, but they did speak to immigration experts, attorneys and advocacy groups, as well as their target audience of voting-age teens.”
Let me guess: vehicular homicide not’s included.

I wonder if there will be a level where you hang out at the Home Depot and hope for day labor.
Or perhaps, a level where you get in a contest to see who can pick the most lettuce.
conservnut on August 5, 2007 at 6:41 PM
Whoops! Wrong possessive.
Make that “Let me guess, vehicular homicide’s not included.”
Nichevo on August 5, 2007 at 6:42 PM
Got it, a level where you go to a pro-immigration rally and see if you can hoist the Mexican flag the highest.
conservnut on August 5, 2007 at 6:43 PM
Wow.
I was talking to my mom today who likes to follow both Canadian and U.S. politics.
Somehow, John McCain has even managed to alienate my mom… way-to-go!

Oh, better yet, get shot in the butt by “jackbooted” border agents while smuggling dope across the border, then get amnesty to come back and testify against them and get them thrown in jail. That will have to be the bonus level.

Slated for November 2008: Utopian Paradise!
Our Socialist Leader Hillary Klintoon has won the presidency, but evil Mitt Romney has, like Bush from Gore and Kerry, “won” by “getting the popular vote and the electoral college.” Your job is to silence the dissidents and the evil vast right wing conspiracy that is preventing your dream from coming true! You will need all your Stalinist tactics and propaganda to ensure victory for the people! Hillary is stuck in the massive recount war, and your job is to infiltrate the voting centers and change the votes, and that’s just level 1!

How many points do you get if you immediately turn yourself in as soon as the game starts?
KSgop on August 5, 2007 at 7:05 PM
If you’re going to go all “political” in a game, at least have the common decency to add some decent graphics. That thing looks like something out of the late 90’s.
madne0 on August 5, 2007 at 7:15 PM
can i play the game as one of the fine ICE officers who are just doing their jobs????
and your kidding about the Geraldo Rivera calling for deportation.
Mojack420 on August 5, 2007 at 7:19 PM
Who the hell did the graphics? Awful…
This is absolutely sickening. Only in America can you make a game slandering brave people who have to root out criminals that snuck in by the back door.
Dark-Star on August 5, 2007 at 7:21 PM
Amazing how so many of our people spit on the very freedoms they are given.
You know, we should create this game, only located in Mexico. I imagine the difficulty would be a lot higher, namely by getting killed on the first level every time.
BKennedy on August 5, 2007 at 7:29 PM
How many points for each stolen SS#?
DfDeportation on August 5, 2007 at 7:38 PM
0 points as you are now labeled as a race traitor and are banned from playing the game again.
Mojack420 on August 5, 2007 at 8:05 PM
How about gunfights with the black gangs? Maybe they won’t cover that particular part of life as an illegal immigrant because that would be too un-PC.
Of course, “questioning the establishment” is real brave anyway, especially in America where all we request is that if you act like a stupid, self-righteous douchebag we get to call you out on it.
Dissent is easy. You wanna be patriotic? Try supporting the mission our troops are on instead of just giving us platitudes about “Bush’s War.” Try defending the values that actually made America great. The First Amendment was created to allow a free exchange of ideas unfettered by government intrusion, not to be a black check for a bitchfest regarding your personal, irrational grievances.

“Boisvert said they didn’t talk to immigration authorities, but they did speak to immigration experts, attorneys and advocacy groups, as well as their target audience of voting-age teens.”
So, funny story: I was looking for an answer to a question I had about something I was researching….so I went to an authority on the matter, and got an actual, by regulation, answer. I know, it’s crazy. True story, no BS, I talked to an authority on the matter!

It is getting more and more difficult to retain hope for America’s survival. Very sad.

My thoughts, exactly!
Buzzy on August 5, 2007 at 8:46 PM
I know how to beat that level. If you can drive a car in the game that is…
Just consume a whole lotta cerveza, get mucho borracho, jump in a car and run down Geraldo’s family, killing them all. Of course, you should get bonus points for having been arrested numerous times for various crimes and DUI previously, without ever having been deported after your previous drunk driving and other criminal cases were adjuticated.
Or, you can just shoot and kill a police officer during a routine traffic stop. The bonus points scenerio mentioned above still applies.
SilverStar830 on August 5, 2007 at 9:02 PM
The X-rated hack level is where you create your own little “citizen”, so that deporting you would cause the moral dilemma of family separation.
Kerplophel on August 5, 2007 at 9:23 PM
Funny, I thought the “Create Anchor Baby” option was neccesary if you wanted to go anywhere in the game. It probably has a 99% chance of stopping ICE capture, especially after you cast “Invoke: El Senador Kennedy”.

I don’t suppose there’s any chance this is all a tongue-in-cheek parody …….. is there?
Because I really don’t think I could mock liberals much more effectively that this does:
“This 3D downloadable game, teaches players about the unjust nature of U.S immigration policy.”
Seriously?
And if I assume this is for real …. what kind of complete tool is going to play this? Picture it: “Hey, dudes, wanna come over to my crib and play a little Iced?”
This game is gonna get some teenager’s ass kicked on the playground. A lot.
Professor Blather on August 6, 2007 at 7:03 AM
Yeah, I don’t see this being a big hit with the gaming voting-age teens.
Keli on August 6, 2007 at 7:45 AM
On which level do you get to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate of your choice?
Also, if the game uses a single word of English, doesn’t it undermine its own cause?
TexasDan on August 6, 2007 at 10:20 AM
Go to the Breakthrough website and you’ll see that their main mission is to change American laws. They have a program they’re pushing called “Value Families,” which the organization received a certificate of commitment from Bill Clinton last year. They do leave out the word “illegal” when talking about er…illegals and call them “long-term U.S. residents.”
This is a supposedly a human-rights organization from India. That old saying about “clean your own house first before you think about cleaning mine” comes to mind.
