Fwiw, the Jamil Hussein reference has been “disappeared” from the Iraqi soccer story.
Noticed the mention last night, but this morning he’s gone.

The facts are wrong. We must examine AP’s motives.

Beckham who?
That soccer team in LA ought to sign this kid. At least he can play unlike that million-dollar pretty English boy they signed recently.

Go Glasgow Celtics!

Reparations!

I think this kid could school most all of MLS right now.
Scary question: What happens when Football Hooligans become Soccer Dads?
Go Celtic, and Mainz 05. Yes, get stationed in Germany, get hooked on the local FC, even if they’re not very good.
Spc Steve on August 3, 2007 at 9:18 AM
Galaxy should dump Becks and get this genius! He looks like another Jaime Moreno in action! Bravo! Golasso!

Man that li’l poofer is great at a girls game.
Let’s see him play a real sport like
cricketdartstennisbadmintonFootball.TheSitRep on August 3, 2007 at 9:37 AM
The kid definitely has skills, but soccer is not about individual talent. It is about the team moving around the ball, and their movement moving the ball around the defense to score a goal.
He may be a great player, but there are tons of great individual players who can’t see the field to improve the team’s chances of winning. That skill foundation with a mindset of team play will go far. But I’m afraid he looks like the type of kid who will make other skilled kids angry and not want to play with him.
Cool video though. Definite talent.

Comments are working? There goes my cyber jihad theory.
sonnyspats1 on August 3, 2007 at 10:08 AM
Soccer is a team sport, and if you’ll notice, the kid passes the ball upfield and sets up others to score. From that short clip, he appears to be a smart, skilled, and unselfish team player.

It’s funny you should use a soccer image.
My kid didn’t make the high school soccer team this year because some of the kids who were selected are illegal immigrants.
Isn’t that great? “Playing sports American kids won’t play?”
