Newsflash: Silky’s a hypocrite and a phony

I’d like to think this was team Clinton’s handiwork but the Post is one of Murdoch’s papers so they’re probably just exacting a little revenge for the boss. It won’t hurt his nutroots standing, either, any more than David Brock’s history hurt him before his moment on the road to Damascus, but insofar as it gives people on the left’s cable news outfit cause to mock him openly, it was worth running.
Not to beat a dead pony, but Scarborough’s right. This is old news.

No way, a lying lawyer? Who would have gussed it.
Silky (one trick) Pony reveals his true character.
TunaTalon on August 3, 2007 at 10:07 AM
Almost seemed a couple of times like he had to slow down and remember to talk about what the president is doing wrong.
Whoa there, Silky!
MadisonConservative on August 3, 2007 at 10:08 AM
hahahahahahaha
That is great.
conservnut on August 3, 2007 at 10:10 AM
You’d think Silky would have had his arse covered on the book deal from newscorp long before he fired across the bow at Hill & Obama.
He’s not just grasping at straws, he’s gasping for air.
commonsensehoosier on August 3, 2007 at 10:11 AM
There is SO much irony in this quote, is there not?

Not so fast. Edwards has just learned of this ovesight, the campaign is complex and he can’t handle every little detail. YOu are all jumping the gun…rush to judgement. Give him time and he will sort this out and returnt the $800,000. He has already said he has donatated $300,000 to charities from Murdoch. This is a man with a heart of gold, a man whos wife has cancer, a man who understands the two sides of America, the haves and the have nots. This is a man who cares, who is forthright, whos wife has cancer, a man of compassion, whos wife has cancer.
Sheesh, you guys are too sensitive and too mean.
HAHAHA, I crack myself up.

un huh
yo on August 3, 2007 at 10:19 AM
It’s riveting to me to watch him on this video on Fox, pandering hard to the center, and compare it to his recent campaign appearances in the Nutroots community. Can this possibly be the same guy?
This guy is Sybil.
Jaibones on August 3, 2007 at 10:20 AM
The Empty Suit gets even emptier?! At some point he’ll impode and the vast comic void where his personality should be will suck everything around him into sweet, sweet oblivion.
Thomas the Wraith on August 3, 2007 at 10:23 AM
Maybe he can invext the 800 large in hypocrisy offsets.
Or finance a few haircuts.
JammieWearingFool on August 3, 2007 at 10:25 AM
O ye generation of VIPERS, Oh ye Hippocrates!
mountainmanbob on August 3, 2007 at 10:25 AM
I can’t take it.
When a guy uses the phrase “Baby Steps” you can bet he is a flaming edwards.
TheSitRep on August 3, 2007 at 10:26 AM
Didn’t his Silkiness receive a big advance for a book published by a News Corp. outfit? Is that part of the $$ right2bright talked about a couple of comments up?
PS r2b, you’re cracking me up too.
KelliD on August 3, 2007 at 10:28 AM
Phony Pony? Silky phony pony? Phony Silky Pony?
Tom Blogical on August 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM
Fixed that for you, Silky.
Mallard T. Drake on August 3, 2007 at 10:39 AM
Just like all rich democrats who complain that the upper income levels are taxed too lightly: how much of his tax breaks has he given back or donated the the government to bring his share of the tax burden up to the level he thinks it should be?
The answer is Silky is a hypocrite.
Mallard T. Drake on August 3, 2007 at 10:43 AM
So is he saying that he has too much money that he shouldn’t have or is he saying that no one else deserves to have as much money as he has? Why doesn’t he just give his away and stay out of my wallet? It would be a start.
bloggless on August 3, 2007 at 10:44 AM
This is Finish The Thought Time (as per P.J. O’Rourke);
Which probably strained his capacity for same.
You mean, like him? (And how does that explain our unemployment being the lowest since the middle of World War II?)
Yes, mostly created by trial lawyers- like Silky.
Not nearly as seriously as the lack of tort reform at the behest of trial lawyers and the dogmas of the deep-ecology movement- both of which are bedrock constituencies of your party’s leadership, Silky.
Actually, we owe Mr. Edwards a vote of thanks. For showing us that, even after several decades of failures, the “progressive” crowd is as clueless today as they were at Woodstock.
cheers

The time has come for Democrats to stop pretending to be friends with the very people who demonize the Democratic Party,” Edwards said.
There is SO much irony in this quote, is there not?
***********Warning! Too much information********
I don’t take exception to that. Democrats, including myself, is blind to their own hypocrisy. Pardon me for being alittle self-absorbed at the moment. Typing from a keyboard into a tagged rectangle, leads to such. Have learned alot about myself at HA. OH! That’s what it means to be a Republican. Oh, I see. I getted sucked into every link, searching for answers, to find, I’m just being disingenuous, or pretending to know what I’m doing. Understand, not necessarily accept, that Dems, Libs, whatever you want to call them, are incapable of introspection. Doing so would crack their facade and crush their image of being a strong, caring and loving person. Crack and crush away. It’s for their own good.
captivated_dem on August 3, 2007 at 10:50 AM
It would all be sooooooo laughable if not for the fact that this loon is actually being put out there by the DNC as a legitimate candidate; not to mention that millions of people will actually vote for him.
ericire12 on August 3, 2007 at 10:54 AM
Edwards a hypocrite? Big surprise. A wonderful representative for the Democratic Party.
katieanne on August 3, 2007 at 11:06 AM
I guess we need to start being nicer to Pony, or else he’s not going to be our friend (or at least pretend to be).
Rick on August 3, 2007 at 11:31 AM
He’s dead and stnking with this flob. No one will even consider him for VP this time. He just proved how unqualified for anything he is but to be a chief ambilance chaser.
apostle53 on August 3, 2007 at 11:36 AM
“The biggest portion of the economic growth is among the highly educated.”
Which explains the low unemployment figures right?
I think it’s time for Silky to spur economic growth and get himself another haircut.
Kowboy on August 3, 2007 at 11:38 AM
He forgot to let Mrs. Edwards speak for him. He advanced his own dumb intiative without consulting her. It would have made an interesting presidency with Elizabeth as his mouthpiece. He couldn’t trust himself.
apostle53 on August 3, 2007 at 11:40 AM
The biggest problem with Silky’s train of thought is that it doesn’t have a caboose.
Kowboy on August 3, 2007 at 11:52 AM
I just fell typing this. Please call John Edwards for me. I want to sue the keyboard manufacturer.
saved on August 3, 2007 at 12:15 PM
It’s a joke a day from Mr. and Mrs. Edwards!
SouthernGent on August 3, 2007 at 12:24 PM
Uh…videos are blocked at work, so this may be correct, but what does Hippocrates (Greek Physician, 460 BC) have to do with this thread? Unless Pony was talking about medical malpractice?
Catseye on August 3, 2007 at 12:29 PM
Ahh, I think you’ve inspired Silky’s campaign slogan:
Two Americas…One Trick.
-Edwards ‘08
James on August 3, 2007 at 12:38 PM
Now that was snarky. When we have a spell check here then you can bag on people like me who misspell when we’re in a hurry.
It was painful listening to Edwards talk with Combs. The guy just drips arrogance. However, I think he’s the least of all evils coming out of the Dhemocrat party.
Fred, deliver us.
Mojave Mark on August 3, 2007 at 12:45 PM
“the rich need to give back”…
Very true, and they should voluntarily give all that they WANT to give back.
nottakingsides on August 3, 2007 at 1:42 PM
I hope we get an opportunity to visit at length, maybe some evening on an appropriate thread that is sliding into the vault.
RushBaby on August 3, 2007 at 2:09 PM
No! I’m crushed!
Entelechy on August 3, 2007 at 2:17 PM
Hope you don’t mind, Mojave Mark.

“John Edwards, who yesterday demanded Democratic candidates return any campaign donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., himself earned at least $800,000 for a book published by one of the media mogul’s companies,” says Charles Hurt in today’s NY Post
Is this ambulance chaser going to return the $800,000?
georgej on August 3, 2007 at 2:25 PM
Hmmm, a hypocritical phony pony – how silky smooth.
Rick on August 3, 2007 at 2:40 PM
Yeah, I wonder if he’ll pony-up.
Rick on August 3, 2007 at 2:42 PM
Is there a difference between earning money for writing a book and taking campaign donations? Just wondering.
And by the way, the use of the term “ambulance chaser” infers an attorney that prosecutes frivilous personal injury lawsuits. Reference one.
sandman on August 3, 2007 at 5:20 PM
I loathe the way this guy talks out of the side of his mouth, he must think he’s a Cagneyesque ganster. Oh, yeah, hes a lawyer - same thing.
I like how he included ‘I’m among the richest.’ I’d like for him, or ANY candidate to define how much one has to make to be in the top 50/30/20/10 % income brackets. That would be an eye opener for us regular folks, no?
TinMan13 on August 3, 2007 at 5:52 PM
I was shocked today when Wolfie actually called him on this today. Silky seemed take aback too. Tried his tryin to shut me up thing again. Wolf said no, they just want to know if you’re giving the money back. Nobody is tryig to shut you up.
I should just look for a clip to put in.
