Borrowing from Harry Potter, this video parody titled “Rovemort And The Sorcerer’s Stonewall” and starring Jason Alexander was released today by the Campaign For America’s Future. I wish I could say it was clever or fun, but it’s so heavy-handed about Rush Limbaugh, Brit Hume, Trent Lott, Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and Dubya that even a liberal like me finds it off-putting.

(Surely Hollywood can help progressives put together more subtle and arresting footage than this!) The video is part of a national campaign to “expose the right’s strategy of obstructing reform while attacking the ‘do-nothing [Democrat-controlled] Congress’”, timed to the YearlyKos conference in Chicago, and legislators on Capitol Hill preparing to return to their districts for the summer recess.

The first I became aware of Alexander’s politics was on Real Time one night. When I see there’s going to be a “celebrity” on, I put myself through the misery of watching Maher to see if they get added to my list. This guy passed with flying colors.

Shoulda seen Alexander suck up to Dan Rather on that show.

Was puke-worthy.

Maher used to be somewhat reasonable when he did Politically Incorrect. But now. Anyone see his new stand-up act? It’s about as funny as Rovemort.

Why, this was so good that I think they must have as-Sahab doing their video production work for them….. Not sure what kindergarten they got to write the script for them though.

This is why Jerry did most of the writing. And acting.

Ordinarily, I’d say rabid leftist politics should be left out of show business. But reciting the Communist Manifesto over and over again for thirty minutes each week would have been a decided improvement over what those losers came up with.

BTW O/T a bit, but related to Rove. Roseanne Barr has a blog. On it she suggest that Rove is working for Mitt Romney. And electing Mitt will get you more Rove. I couldn’t sleep one night and found that. I just figured, we were talking about lib celebs.

Unclever, unfunny. Michael Richards, Jason Alexander…will Julia be next to flame out?

Of course I can understand if somebody has no talent and spoils a joke. But I can’t for the life of me see what it is here that somebody even thought was supposed to be funny in the first place.

So, how long before lefties start referring to us as mudbloods?

I’ll warn you that I’m biased, before I answer the question.
Yes, it’s a very enjoyable series. Easy to read, never slow. And the movies are as enjoyable as the books. Again, just my opinion (but I guess I share it with millions, eh?)

Not a cape…it’s a cloak. As in a wizard’s cloak. He’s Rovemort – like the villain in HARRY POTTER, Voldemort.
