Video: O’Reilly tangles with Sen. Dodd; Dennis Miller rips Dodd limb from limb

posted at 10:42 pm on August 2, 2007 by Bryan

O’Reilly really couldn’t have stacked these two Factor segments any better. First he has Sen. Chris Dodd on to talk about the DailyKos and the YearlyKos and that Photoshop he keeps showing that came from Kos. If you haven’t seen it, you’ll see it in this segment, don’t worry. Once he and Dodd go a few rounds shouting at each other, O’Reilly brings Dennis Miller on to deliver the coup de grace. Or, several of them.

Since neither segment works as well alone, I’ve given you the entire Dodd segment and the choice cuts from Miller Time.

Does Dodd really believe he stands any chance of being President?

He’s delusional in more ways than one.

BacaDog on August 2, 2007 at 10:48 PM

Yeah, that was a good exchange. Minimal cross talk, points got made, and when Dodd danced away from the question it was obvious.

see-dubya on August 2, 2007 at 10:56 PM

Haha, Miller was great.

Miller so rocks.

JustTruth101 on August 2, 2007 at 10:57 PM

Sorry…but frankly, I think O’R is a tool. Listening to him argue with Dodd was excruciatingly hard to do…but I knew there was a payoff, so I kept listening.

Now…Dennis Miller? THAT’S a payoff!! I like this guy more and more and more each time he opens his mouth.

Let’s replace O’Really with Michelle or Dennis!

tickleddragon on August 2, 2007 at 10:58 PM

Dennis’ rapier strikes again! His chiding of Bill was keen and unexpected.

Sen. Dudd, er, Dodd was shown as the charlatan he wanted to expose Bill to be.

You know what I think the real reason you hate Kos is, Allah? You’re jealous of the sublime photoshop work they do over there. You look at the stunning way Lieberman’s head slips into the photo body, the perfect proportions, the high wit, and you’re like Salieri, burning inside, despondent, murderous.

Alex K on August 2, 2007 at 11:14 PM

frankj on August 2, 2007 at 11:14 PM

Can I please finish, can I finish a thought here?

You finished it, Dodd, you finished it five times, and then kept repeating it over and over, just redundantly reiterating a repetition of a point you already made before–like a freakin broken record as we used to say. Now wonder you’re looking at Kusinich’s backside. Boy between O’Reilly and Hannity–they are lousy in the clinches, because they don’t have really solid command of their facts. One of my faves in these kinds of confrontations is Mark Belling from Milwaukee. He just chops clowns like Dodd off at the knees. Too bad Miller didn’t have a chance at him.

smellthecoffee on August 2, 2007 at 11:15 PM

I think there are more than seven or eight hateful commentators at Daily Kos.

Christoph on August 2, 2007 at 11:15 PM

If you haven’t seen it, you’ll see it in this segment, don’t worry.

Remember when he said “I’m only going to show this once”!

he could speak at his dinning room table and only 50% of the family would show up.

that is classic

Can I please finish, can I finish a thought here?

CaptainObvious on August 2, 2007 at 11:19 PM

Dennis’ quote about O’Reilly getting Senator Dodd on Dennis’ radio show:

“If I wanted someone who drones on like that, I’d put on a test pattern my friend.”

That was priceless!!

Montana on August 2, 2007 at 11:19 PM

I’ve been looking for these. I watched this earlier. Miller was spot on here. Dodd should never have had the time on-air. And in the segment after Miller, Bernard Goldberg agreed with Miller. BillO’, didn’t have a great night. But it was a good show.

PowWow on August 2, 2007 at 11:21 PM

I have a huge smile on my face and am laughing out loud at my desk so hard the cat is looking at me strangely.

I can live with that.

And Miller has it exactly right…Dodd can now go to Kos as a huge hero who put O’Reilly in his place. Big ego boost there.

Sheesh.

Yeah. They are definitely aligned with the Loser mentality all the way around. Mediocrity at it’s most average level. Commies have a thing about winners. They hate them. Ya see, the Left suffers from a Loser’s Complex. Like Ol’; Gorby Here

“Americans have a severe disease — worse than AIDS. It’s called the winner’s complex,”

You want proof he IS the man for the White House?

Look no further than this video, linked from the front page of Senator Dodd’s website.

CHRIS DODD’S WHITE HAIR

Christoph on August 2, 2007 at 11:31 PM

Great fun. 80% of the viewing audience is still wondering “who the hell is that buffoon with the white hair?” The other 20% are wondering why anyone would put him in front of a camera…

Miller’s ideology is probably still left of center for the larger part, but his 9-11 consciousness and the savaging he must take from his leftist former friends seem to have turned him into a partisan of the right, if only for the purpose of ripping on the Useful Idiots of the Fringe.

I love that.

Miller is so accurate in his assessment of Dodd that it amazed me. Dodd really did leave the impression of an obstanant, rude fool who was more interested in regurtating propaganda from the Left than have any manner of meaningful dialogue.

The more I hear of Dennis Miller the more he impresses me. Dodd really does appear to be a pawn of the far Left, this nation’s biggest weakness.

It would be spectacular to see O’Reilly give Dennis Miller more air time.

omegaram on August 2, 2007 at 11:56 PM

Well that was a big, wet, sloppy kiss from Chris Dodd to the KosKids.

Dodd’s an old school, old money liberal. Deep down it’s gotta annoy him that he has to go do a dog and pony show on O’Reilly just to get a little attention from some people he wouldn’t let in his house for a million dollars.

I hope he enjoyed his little appearance tonight. Given O’Reilly’s ratings it’s likely more people will have seen him tonight then will vote for him in all the primaries next year.

Drew on August 2, 2007 at 11:58 PM

tickleddragon on August 2, 2007 at 10:58 PM

Glad to see I’m not the only one that feels that way.

The first few months I watched him, I thought O’Reilly was pretty good; But for a few years now, I find him so irritating that if I were a giant oyster and you placed him inside my shell, he’d soon be at the center of the hugest pearl ever imagined.

I only watch when MM is on, or when there is an interesting clip posted here at HA.

Miller was OK, but not at ‘the top of his game’ tonight, I thought. Plus that tie situation was distracting. He would have done better to have gone ‘open collar’.

LegendHasIt on August 3, 2007 at 12:07 AM

Dodd is like a minor character in a Frank Capra movie about the weaselocracy in Washington.

Doing more tapdancing than an Mickey Rooney number.

Soft shoe, doubletalk, and out the door.

Uninformed, oblivious, and smiling.

Miller was too mild.

Dodd errs -should be the headline.

profitsbeard on August 3, 2007 at 12:11 AM

O’Reilly is such a tool. It’s so obvious too anyone remotely familiar with the internet that in forums theres always idiots who spew vile stuff. Hotair is no exception. Far from it. Read what it says right above the comments section. Individual posters don’t represent the views of the site. If they did hotair would believe in calling mexicans *etbacks, bombing mecca, starting an armed revolution against the government because the dastardly liberal media is taking over America etc… Dodd is correct in that its ideology thats driving this. Otherwise he could just as easily attack HA. And then Miller comes on and name calls for awhile. Way to gain the high ground from all that ad hominem hate spewed on the Daily Kos!

crr6 on August 3, 2007 at 12:17 AM

Dodd does have a point, but in a way he didn’t intend. What is objectionable about Kos is in fact the ideology – the ideology of Hate. Whether it’s self-hatred, hatred of freedom, hatred of human progress, hatred of God, hatred of America, hatred of W – that’s the irreducible root of everything Left, and everything Kos stands for.

Video: O’Reilly tangles with Sen. Dodd; Dennis Miller rips Dodd limb from limb

IOW….Dodd stomped O’Reilly? (sigh)

Ever since GERALDO started making regular appearances on OHS (o’reilly, hannity, sustern) plus the hyper-nauseating “at large” on the weekends, I’ve been watching LESS AND LESS of FoxNews.

Nothing against anyone on FNC (except the slimey little Jerroldo rodent) but I just won’t watch that pusillanimous pip-squeak.

There was a time….not too long ago, where Dudd Dodd would have been cut to pieces on the Factor.

No mas. O’reilly’s using Gerataldo in his attempt to find and woo the ephemeral “middle” and looking more and more like Fast Forward Fodder on my super-speedy HDTV DVR. Doesn’t show up on Neilson, I betcha, if I record the program, but FF through most of it!

I’m actually watching Glenn Beck on CNN………and…..(gulp) LOU DOBBS….(but only for anti-immigration…..I SWEAR!) (sounds of profuse sobbing)

Stand With Senator Dodd in Support of the Netroots

Last night, Senator Dodd appeared on “The O’Reilly Factor” to stand up to its host, Bill O’Reilly, for his unfair attacks on progressive bloggers. O’Reilly has spent the last two weeks smearing a Democratic blog, DailyKos.com, as well as Democrats who are attending the Yearly Kos conference. Senator Dodd is going on to defend free speech and make clear that he will be proudly attending Yearly Kos.

Unlike O’Reilly, Chris Dodd knows the difference between representative comments and ones cherry picked with a hostile agenda. He has the conviction to stand with his friends online and stand up to O’Reilly.

Bill O’Reilly isn’t used to someone stepping in to do the right thing. He isn’t used to someone putting their foot down and saying, “Enough is enough.”

Will you stand with Chris Dodd in his defense of the netroots?

Sign up below now!

Lol, somewhere John Edwards is crying as he watches Dodd steal his schtick, and probably some supporters. Freakin’ hilarious! Seriously, is that little call for support with video posted not identical to Edwards various fundraising scams like “Coulter Cash”, etc.

Dodd’ campaign will soon be over, but don’t be surprised if you hear him come out and talk about the evil “They” soon, like Silky has mastered in recent weeks.

Exit… dream: How awesome/hilarious would it be if there was an independent Edwards/Dodd ticket?

Time to pull this out of the files for posterity:

Dodd Waves Off ‘Waitress Sandwich’ Query

Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., nearly got busted Tuesday morning when talk radio host Don Imus queried him about the notorious 1985 “waitress sandwich” incident, in which he and Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., allegedly sexually assaulted a waitress at Washington’s trendy La Brasserie restaurant.

Dodd, who has never commented on the story, was discussing the newfound friendship between President Bush and Kennedy when Imus veered off into uncharted waters.
[snip]

The victim herself detailed the attack for Penthouse magazine in 1989, which was summarized by the Washington Times:

“When she put in an appearance in their private retreat – ‘The Teddy Kennedy Fun Room’ – the Massachusetts senator picked her up and heaved her onto a table. The crystal candlesticks and champagne glasses shattered as he grabbed her again and flung her on top of Dodd.

“Then Kennedy threw himself on top of the woman. The waitress implored Mr. Kennedy to ‘Get off me!’

“Another waitress entered to find ‘things all tipped over and Kennedy was on top, [the waitress] was in the middle and Dodd was on the bottom.’ At that point the sandwich was disassembled.”

No wonder Sen. Dodd doesn’t want to “go there.”

I admit I don’t spend any time at the Daily Kos, but I don’t see how you can equate it to this site in terms of hate. O’Reilly is becoming more and more tedious though, even though I still admire him a lot for his leadership in the culture war among other things.

O’Reilly did make a comment about San Francisco being attacked. It was on his radio show however. He did say it. One need only google “O’Reilly San Francisco” to see the numerous sites that document this.

O’Reilly always just yells over his guests, it becomes very bothersome. His segments turn into him shouting and his guest saying “can I finish?” over and over again.

My father is 81-years-old, he owns a pc, but doesn’t get on it. He wouldn’t have a clue as to what Daily Kos is or how Dodd is agreeing with that hatesite, but he would be completely disgusted and surprised by Dodd standing by their right to show a picture as was shown of Joe Lieberman with Bush.

Dodd has a lot of nerve getting on O’Reilly’s case about sticking to issues. Of COURSE he objects to the ideology. No big surprise. But it’s O’Reilly’s show, and he decides the subject matter, not Dodd. I turned the volume off after hearing Dodd say the same thing five or six times (a sure sign to most people that you aren’t getting through), ‘cuz I wanted to hear Dennis Miller tell him off.
