Video: Amnesty shills offer calm, rational objections to planned Pete Wilson statue

San Diego’s building a statue to Pete Wilson? Why, no — a foundation started by a friend of his commissioned it and is installing it on its own land. But they’re building the statue to commemorate Wilson’s role in passing Prop 187, right? Why, no — they’re building it to commemorate Wilson’s achievements as mayor of San Diego, before he was elected governor.

No matter. If the city won’t take it down, it’s coming down one way or another. Quote: “Remember the Hussein statue in Iraq.” Note how evidently important Morones thinks it is, too, that San Diego used to be a Mexican city.

He claims he’s not equating Wilson with Hitler. Really? Watch this.

Ah…1994. I remember Prop187 vividly. Just out of high school, first time I could vote, voted for 187, it passed with like 60% of the vote.

Then, on a sunny day in Berkeley some hippie and I almost threw down over the issue, after he verbally assaulted my girlfriend because she wouldn’t take his pamphlets.

What a great year…

nailinmyeye on August 2, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Think they’re feeling the pressure?

DfDeportation on August 2, 2007 at 4:46 PM

In that second video there was the not so subtle threat of violence if the statue goes up.

nailinmyeye on August 2, 2007 at 4:46 PM

John & Ken asked Pete Wilson on their radio show yesterday if he’s afraid of his statue being mutilated by such crazies and he said “nay, I’m more afraid of the pigeons”.

Since the passage of Proposition 209, higher graduation rates have been posted at University of California schools, which led opponents of affirmative action to suggest a causal link between Proposition 209 and a better-prepared student body. The African American graduation rate at the University of California, Berkeley increased by 6.5 percent, and rose even more dramatically, from 26 percent to 52 percent, at the University of California, San Diego

Darn Pete Wilson, educating those minorities, next thing you know they will not be so dumb as to vote Dem.
We have got to stop the education of minorities…it must stop.

I had always wondered what Al Sharpton would have been like had he been born Latino. Now, I know.

JayHaw Phrenzie on August 2, 2007 at 5:02 PM

I’m proud to say I voted for Prop 187. The racism that came into play was by the court that struck it down. Morones and the Border Angels can kiss my American ass. Things have been going downhill in this state ever since Wilson left office.

The irony is that if San Diego still was a mexican city then none of the illegal immigrants that this guy is ‘defending’ would be there, because they didn’t want to go to another mexican city, they wanted to go to an american city.

Aylios on August 2, 2007 at 5:17 PM

Typical nutroot leftists attempting to use politics of intimidation to achieve their socialist goals. Tell them to stick it in their collective ear or the orifice of their choice.

rplat on August 2, 2007 at 5:20 PM

“I’m asking you to put an end to this peacefully.

Was that a subtle threat of violence? nice… “we are peaceful mexicans who are just here to better our lives… now don’t enforce the law or offend us, otherwise we’ll get violent.”

“Sure now that you put it that way… welcome to California.”

Prop 187 being overturned was California’s suicide.

They should have thrown the judges out and over-ridden the ruling.

Bowing to it killed their future.

Rest in P.C.

JayHaw Phrenzie on August 2, 2007 at 5:02 PM

Enrique the moron is a douchebag. Hopefully, the police will be smart enough to deny their request for a protest permit, and then come out in force to crack heads and arrest illegals on Saturday.

Jaibones on August 2, 2007 at 5:35 PM

Morones is obviously a shining example of the teachers unions desired result of our public school system.

Andy in Agoura Hills on August 2, 2007 at 5:00 PM

I don’t think going that extreme is going to help anyone.
Just enforce the existing laws and stop pandering to illegals and the racist that promote illegal entry into the country.

Kini on August 2, 2007 at 5:36 PM

Hey, Enrique – we stole it fair and square. If you bums want it back, then come and take it.

But that didn’t work out so well the last time.

Hell, California alone could probably whip your asses with one hand behind it’s back, and annex Baja to boot.

liquidflorian on August 2, 2007 at 5:44 PM

That last video is self-parodying XD

I knew something about Prop 187, but I didn’t know anything about Prop 209, so I looked it up:

The passage of proposition 209 amended the California Constitution to include a new section (Section 31 of Article I), which reads:

(a) The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.

My god. What horrible racist legislation. I can’t believe Pete Wilson could be such a racist, that he would personally … err let the legislation..err, force people to propose a ballot initiative. Uh…wait. These guys know how a California ballot proposition works right?

Anyway, ending descrimination based on race is obviously racist. Cuz then … then you can’t, you know, you can’t give my race advantages and disadvantage other races. And that’s RACISM!

These guys are great XD

liquidflorian on August 2, 2007 at 5:44 PM

That seems to be the mantra these days. It’s Racism is you take a anti-illegal position on immigration.

But I suppose you were referencing your hiny-perpendicular, right?

Kini on August 2, 2007 at 5:50 PM

Obviously, I have a grammar problem also.

It’s Racism is if you take a anti-illegal position on immigration.

Kini on August 2, 2007 at 5:53 PM

If they’re screaming, we’re winning.

If illegal aliens aren’t allowed to break the law, they get real mad.

Speakup on August 2, 2007 at 5:54 PM

I remember 187 , I remember voting for 187 , I remember learning if you can’t win you can always sue in the courts.
From that moment on it’s been right down the crapped for California.

Mojack420 on August 2, 2007 at 5:54 PM

It looks like he is calling him Hitler and Charalie Manson all at once. (Just watched “Merry Christmas Charlie Manson” for the fourth time last night)

oh well, looks like you are going to have to move? Perhaps to your “sister city”?

Sounds like he is threatening violence to me. Kind of like, Convert or Die?

Do it, and I will destroy it?

Is that what I am hearing?

CrimsonFisted on August 2, 2007 at 6:13 PM

Are these people so F***ing dumb that they don’t understand the difference between immigrant and ILLEGAL ALIEN?
No their not, they are smart calculating, race baiting anti-Americas.

Don’t hand me this crap….the illegals send more money back to Mexico and South America than you could ever imagine.
All these illegals who fill the “jobs no American” will take send a HUGE chunk of their American money right home to Mexico and South America.

Can we deport him and keep my friend who has been trying to become a citizen for 9 years?

Tim Burton on August 2, 2007 at 6:31 PM

Aahhh, comparing someone to Hitler. The very definition of stupidity and not having an actual, rational argument to put forth. Anytime someone says, “Well, so and so is like Hitler” (usually Pres. Bush), I call them a moron and tell them to come back when they have an actual argument based on, you know, facts and junk. Otherwise, don’t debate politics with me.

Calling someone who happens to disagree with you politically (or otherwise) Hitler shows a real lack of historical knowledge and a decided lack of intellectual curiousity that I cannot fathom.

Back to my Leon Uris book now….

mjk on August 2, 2007 at 6:31 PM

As a legal immigrant (from Canada), I don’t feel much sympathy for illegal ones. If I had to go through all the immigration hoo-hah, so should everyone else.

mjk on August 2, 2007 at 6:32 PM

So if the statue is vandalized … is it a hate crime? Surely supporters of immigration enforcement will view it as intimidation …

darwin on August 2, 2007 at 7:03 PM

They want to end this “peacefully: . . . do they also have another agenda in mind? They must learn that subtle threats of impending violence do not intimidate most of us and we stand ready to respond to whatever may be thrust upon us.

Enrique Morones is closely allied with a latino, transexual, racist, heterophobic hate group called…………………………………………………………GENTE UNIDA!

Is Enrique still……………………unmarried?

That really sucks when a ballot measure is passed by the people only to be overturned by some liberal court.

True statement (1st part), the exodus of businesses and (legal) citizens leaving has been going on ever since then.

But I would really like to know how you think we should have thrown out the judges. You make it sound as easy as taking out the trash.

infidel4life on August 2, 2007 at 8:35 PM

SoulGlo on August 2, 2007 at 7:56 PM

The will of the people is meaningless to liberals, they only use that phrase when they win elections. When the other side wins they go straight to the courts to contest it.

infidel4life on August 2, 2007 at 8:38 PM

Lets check the records, shall we:

Marine Corps officer, 1950’s

State Assemblyman 1960’s-70’s,

Mayor of San Diego, 1970-80’s

Two-term US Senator, who took down Jerry Moonbeam, 82-92

Two-term Governor who took down DiFi and Moonbeam’s sister Kathleen, 91-99

Doomed-to-fail but well-intentioned run for Pres. 96
(Very tuff to govern Cali AND run for the WH at the same time. It cant be done)

Never lost a campaign in California. Not one.

Kind to a fault to the little people who inhabited his admin, as was/is his good lady wife Gayle.

Yes, that sure looks like the “worst of America” to me too.

Uncle Pinky on August 2, 2007 at 10:00 PM

Hitler killed people who said bad things about him, right? He was pretty rough on the non-Aryans, right? What about Pete Wilson is like Hitler except that he isn’t a nutroot lefty? Is that all it takes to be like Hitler in our day and age? All this is making me wonder what to make of those British lefties who marched around last summer during the Lebanon missle-war with signs saying “We are all Hezbollah!” They are obviously flipped out lefties, but who is more like Hitler than Hezbollah? Oy, this Orwellian world is giving me a headache!

You the la raza, mecha, I belong to any hispanic racist group latino moron. You are the face of racism and your words prove this time and time again. There is NO doubt.

$50 BILLION Dollars each and every year. Why do you think the mexican gov’t gives the illegals maps on how to get here. Remittances are the largest or second largest income to that failing nation. More than tourism, even with thousands and thousands of miles of wonderful beaches. Plus oil, gas, and untold additional resources that remain untapped. Just lazy? Maybe so, the mexicans could be a hugely successful nation, but they decided a few maps and exporting 20 million ‘criminals-to-be’ to America, to send American dollars back home, is easier than all those pesky P&L statements and hotel building.
Plus…who would do the jobs mexicans wont do?

shooter on August 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM

Enrique Morones is a racist and a terrorist. His threat to take the statue down through force was clear and unambiguous. Sounds like he ought to be confined in Gitmo.
