Robert Spencer unleashes on CAIR

posted at 6:21 pm on August 2, 2007 by Michelle

Hey, everyone — Bryan and I attended Robert Spencer’s speech that CAIR tried to stop. We’ll have vid tomorrow. I liveblogged here. Multiple standing ovations. I’d say Spencer was the hit of the YAF conference, hands-down.

Blowback

Can’t WAIT!

Looking forward to the vid! Great job Robert Spencer, keep up the good work and keep on fighting the good fight!

commonsensehoosier on August 2, 2007 at 6:26 PM

Damn right! No grievance lobby, you can’t silence Robert Spencer. Not Yours.

Bad Candy on August 2, 2007 at 6:27 PM

Spencer money quote: “I’m not going to submit!”

csdeven on August 2, 2007 at 6:30 PM

I hope he reminded his audience that he is blogging the Koran here at hotair! Wouldn’t that get hooper’s panty’s in a bunch.

Thank you, Mr Spencer, for all you do.

CrimsonFisted on August 2, 2007 at 6:33 PM

I don’t care about cair.

Mr. Spencer is the man.

right2bright on August 2, 2007 at 6:38 PM

Brit Hume just now reported on this. Spoke about CAIR’s threatening letter and read the graphic of YAF’s full response–including the 72 virgins! Mentioned Mr. Spencer’s excellent credentials too.

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 6:38 PM

From now on I shall inevitably think of Mr. Spencer when I hear Tom Petty’s song “I Won’t Back Down.”

radjah shelduck on August 2, 2007 at 6:40 PM

we need to get RS’s closing comment for a t-shirt
“Come and kill me if you want, but I’m not going to submit.”

wonder if cox and forkum would do a graphic for it.

Wyrd on August 2, 2007 at 6:47 PM

sorry, not a fan, and the last bit “come and kill me if you want, i will never submit”..was he talking about CAIR or Al Qaida? I dont think CAIR want to kill robert spencer, and the other lot want to kill everybody so it was playing to the gallery.

zane on August 2, 2007 at 6:47 PM

F THEM. F THEM ALL TO HELL.

thareb on August 2, 2007 at 6:49 PM

It doesn’t matter who he’s playing to, the T-shirt is a great idea! Well done, well said!

zane on August 2, 2007 at 6:47 PM

It has been established that CAIR has ties to terrorist organizations, and this is not the first time they have threatened Mr. Spencer.

One thing RS doesn’t do is “play to the gallery.” If anything, he IS the gallery–and in sitting ducks. Thank God for men like Robert Spencer.

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 6:52 PM

and in sitting ducks ——> as in sitting ducks.

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 6:54 PM

It’s awesome to see you made it out for Robert’s speech.

You keep good company. ‘Xcept for that Bryan, rogue.

OT

Shep just reported: US gov’t wants all states/municipalities to check ALL bridges…

More to come.

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 7:01 PM

US gov’t wants all states/municipalities to check ALL bridges…

The states should tell them to go to hell. It’s their responsibility and they have time schedules for these things in place.

Yes, they should review their plans to see where improvements can be made and SOME states like Rhode Island and Michigan are way behind others… but to throw those schedules out and “inspect” 600,000 bridges on a federal government edict does not strike me as the best use of engineering talent.

Christoph on August 2, 2007 at 7:05 PM

Great read will be looking forward to the video.

I am going to take a Wild guess right here “CAIR doesn’t have the balls stones to answer the challenge to debate Mr. Spencer.”

Yes I called you all {all 12 members of CAIR} cowards. So sue me, John Doe an American.

Mojack420 on August 2, 2007 at 7:06 PM

Spencer’s last word: “Come and kill me if you want, but I’m not going to submit.”

That should be the rallying cry for Americans across the land.

Nice job Robert … kudos to the YAF for telling CAIR to shove their intimidation tactics.

darwin on August 2, 2007 at 7:08 PM

Robert Spencer just mentioned HotAir.com on the Mark Levin show, (with a guest host).

FloatingRock on August 2, 2007 at 7:16 PM

Thanks Spencer, and thanks Michelle for bringing it to us.

ThackerAgency on August 2, 2007 at 7:17 PM

“This is America, not Saudi Arabia. And in America, we have something called the Bill of Rights.”

With knowledgeable and courageous people like Mr. Spencer we will keep this America.

Thank you Mr. Spencer and The Young America’s Foundation for standing up to this obvious intimidation.

NORBZ1 on August 2, 2007 at 7:18 PM

Come and kill me if you want, I will never submit. Oh and by the way, go to Hell and take your 72 virgins with you.

There. I like that.

CrimsonFisted on August 2, 2007 at 7:18 PM

Good job Robert,

Looking forward to the video Michelle

conservnut on August 2, 2007 at 7:19 PM

Just heard on Mark Levin’s show that the lawyer for CAIR that sent Robert the threatening email may have ties to the DNC. They are going to investigate this allegation more. This would be a big bomb if true.

Egfrow on August 2, 2007 at 7:39 PM

Caught just a part of Robert Spencer on Mark Levine. Usually I just flip the station as Levine just screeches hysterically, but he had a substitute host, so I stayed tuned.

Robert: cool, calm, collected, logical, methodical and persuasive as usual.

MB4 on August 2, 2007 at 7:40 PM

Fun Fact from commenter Dersu: CAIR’s legal counsel, Joseph Sandler, is also the DNC’s counsel…

Egfrow on August 2, 2007 at 7:39 PM

He is! From MM’s site:

Fun Fact from commenter Dersu: CAIR’s legal counsel, Joseph Sandler, is also the DNC’s counsel…

“From February 1993 until May 1998, Mr. Sandler served on the staff of the DNC as general counsel. He continues to serve in that position through his law firm.”

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 7:42 PM

I could just see CAIR trying to sue Robert. A full disclosure of what they are all about. Robert spoke the truth and that is his defense.

Great job in keeping us informed MM and Bryan.

Wow Egfrow – if this guy has ties to the DNC it would be a bombshell. Of course, the MSM would be all over it – defending him.

BobK on August 2, 2007 at 7:44 PM

IrishEi on August 2, 2007 at 6:38 PM

Arrgghh! I was on the phone.I would have given anything to have seen that.

Michelle, thanks so much for blogging the event. We are eagerly awating the video. Sounds like Robert spoke to the smarter half of American youth. No sheeple in the YAF, and if there were, there aren’t any now.

Connie on August 2, 2007 at 7:45 PM

CAIR labeled Robert Spencer as a hateful person based on a comment that was on his site for an hour, while someone at CAIR was looking. Just say it. The hate was posted by CAIR. A detective project is needed here. Do the logs at Spenser’s site keep track of who was on line for that hour? If it can be shown that someone associated with CAIR posted the hate and then used it in a legal proceeding it would be at least revealing.

Connie on August 2, 2007 at 7:48 PM

Anybody that CAIR thinks is an enemy has to be an American with a brain. Thanks for all you do.

volsense on August 2, 2007 at 7:49 PM

CAIR tied to DNC? Why, who would have ever guessed it.

Can you say, “Unholy Alliance”?

petefrt on August 2, 2007 at 7:53 PM

Communism is in power. We have to stop this BS now.

Egfrow on August 2, 2007 at 7:56 PM

RS shows you how much you can stir up an organization like CAIR with nothing more than facts. And when you do that, they have no other recourse than to throw the lawyers at you.

Kowboy on August 2, 2007 at 7:59 PM

American Congress for Truth has a new blog and one of the articles outlines the Muslim Brotherhood’s Project-the ideology and plans for conquering us infidels. I would suggest you check it out. It has CAIR written ALL over it. Most of you may be familiar with it – I was not. It is frightening that many of their tactics written are in full and effective use now. http://blog.americancongressfortruth.com Sorry. not good at doing the link thingy yet.

I can’t wait to see the video!

Dave Shay on August 2, 2007 at 8:11 PM

God Bless Robert Spencer/Jihad Watch for his incredible research and guts in standing up to these extremist fascists.
Can’t wait to see the vid… Should we expect a suit against him/the sponsors now that he didn’t cower to their threats?

nationspatriotcom on August 2, 2007 at 8:50 PM

We’ll have vid tomorrow.

Thank you.

While we wait for the video, Washington Times has the text of the speech:

EXCLUSIVE: Spencer on ‘the wrath of CAIR’

Can’t wait to see the video. Thank you Robert Spencer!

There are few real men in this ideological fight – Mr. Spencer is for sure one of them. Thank you Sir.

Entelechy on August 2, 2007 at 10:34 PM

Courage and strength in the face of sheer unadulterated stupidity by CAIR and Ibrahim? Hooper.

tickleddragon on August 2, 2007 at 10:42 PM

The Robo man makin copies!

sonnyspats1 on August 2, 2007 at 11:42 PM

CAIR expected a Don Diego de la Vega, the bookish and retiring figure.

Instead, they’re getting a Z (or R) slashed across their silly rear ends.

Having only encountered those they could bluff before, they’re disoriented.

En garde.

profitsbeard on August 3, 2007 at 12:31 AM

Slander and threats to the truth Robert realys about Islam only seem to embloden the man, especially with his rational minded people in full support. Kudos to you Robert, and looking forward to the video.

The more CAIR pushes, the worse they look.
