But using that logic, since my son is of Mexican descent, I should stake my claim to some land somewhere in Texas huh?

The big problem is that your friend is NOT the type of “immigrant” that the American Left Wing establishment wants.

The American Left wants people who do not obey our laws, since the Left hates the foundation of law, the Constitution. The American Left does not want entrepreneurs who believe in using free markets as a better and realistic alternative to Big Government. After all, the Left wants more socialism and more government intrusion into our lives. The American Left does not want married men who are committed to their wives and children, since the Left wants to redefine traditional norms, (rooted in human nature, society, reality, and God) such as “marriage,” into radical, postmodern, relativistic definitions.

The American Left does not want successful, entrepreneur, driven, pro-active people as “immigrants”, like your friend. The American Left depends on its very existence on people who want hand-outs and government checks.

It is sad to talk to college students here. They have trouble finding summer jobs, except the ones reserved for legals: retail big box stores and fast food. I have heard them talk about how few offers they get.

Around here that means part time only, 32 hours or less to keep them from getting benefits, and minimum wage $7.15 an hour in Michigan. They can earn, before taxes $57.20 a day. $228 a week. At Wally world you get health benefits after a year part time, costing $50 biweekly for a single and $170 biweekly for family coverage with $1000 out of pocket. Good thing Jose isn’t allowed to weasel his way into those jobs.

But you go to Wally’s world big store and there are so many adults working there for the same wages, all citizens.

These lucky citizens would hate to become carpenters, bricklayers, painters, butchers, cleaners, landscapers like their ancestors were forced to become. They must thank the Lord every night that the system keeps them in Taco Bell.

It is so much better to earn $228 a week before taxes and social security and health care are taken out, then to make $100 a day being a butcher, not paying taxes, and being forced to use the ER to get totally free health care.

Build a fence? I would build a train to haul these law breakers out of the country.

You’re not afraid to come out of your home. At least, not around here. I live close to a Wal-mart that everyone calls “Little Mexico” for a reason. Even the freaking signage, products, and the ads that play on those flat-panel tv’s they’ve got hanging around are all in Spanish. Which is why I refuse to shop there. I’m still toying with the idea of getting sloshed one night, running in, and shouting INS just to see what happens…

Frankly the only person I like on Al Jazeera English is Riz Khan. He is somewhat fair, and he is actually engaging. Something you can’t even say about O’reilly or Dumb and Dumber (aka Hannity and Colmes). Khan used to work for CNN before this. If only he hadn’t left. Then CNN would be a better channel.

Very good point. And the “hidden costs” incurred by illegal aliens are then transferred to US citizens, who are basically subsidizing (translation: paying for a medical service in full) the free health care of illegal aliens.

Even hospitals are affected by economics. Even “not for profit” hospitals are directly affected by economics. At the end of the day, it is still costs vs. revenues.

And somebody has to pay for these transferred “hidden expenses.” The reason is because a hospital (whether “for profit” or “not-for-profit”) can only reduce and cut costs and expenses up to a point. Hospitals can only reduce staff and cut administrative overhead up to a point. Once they reach that point, then they are in financial dire straits. Then the only recourse is to transfer the “hidden costs” to US citizens.

I have a Hispanic friend who is a USA citizen. She is a nursing supervisor at a local “not for profit” hospital, and she is very mad at Bush, Graham-amnesty, Democrats for their bad responses to illegal immigration. She blames illegal immigration for causing hospitals to financially shut down.

Very true and if you or your family are waiting for hours to get treatment for real emergencies it really pisses you off.

You should see the situation here in the Houston area. It is unbelievable.

It’s the same here in Raleigh, NC, so not that unbelievable to be honest. This is the reason I get so mad when the democrats whine about all the people that don’t have health insurance because it’s such a red herring. They will get treated if they show up at the ER, whether or not they can pay. It’s so completely backwards!

Good point. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, 95% of warrants for murder are for illegal aliens. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

Of course we all quickly and readily admit that not all illegal aliens are murderers or rapists. The point is NOT to stigmatize classes of people.

My only point here is to note:

Should we as US citizens be surprised at high levels of crime committed by illegal aliens when the very act of lawlessness—breaking the sovereign laws of the USA—is at the very core of what makes an “illegal alien” an illegal alien? Should we really be surprised that high crime rates (and declining home values) accompany illegal immigration when, by definition, these same people are law-breakers, and yet demand US citizenship as their “penalty” for breaking the laws of the USA?

What about all the murderers, rapists, gang members, thieves, robbers, and disease ridden carriers that sneak here? What about them?

If you’re afraid, go home.
If you want medical care, go home.
If you want to work, go home.
If you feel like you’re treated like a criminal, go home.

Without illegals America would yawn and stretch, and then not miss a beat.

Oh and I have worked as a butcher in GA for min wag {5.25 at that time} so cry me a river Jose. Americans have done and still do every dirty job there is.
