As a Fredhead I would like to point out that Republicans can expect this and worse to come out between now and the election. We should just brush it off and keep our debate to the issues, stop talking this trash at face value and definitely stop using the vitriolic attacks of the left to attack our fellow Republicans.

Graydon Carter is an elitist Bush hater, and many (if not most) of VF’s stories are skewed to the Left, but every once in awhile a fair and balanced story breaks through the BDS vitriol and fatuous Left coast gossip.

Obviously this was not one of them.

I do think Mrs. Romney makes a better candidate as First Lady than Mrs. Guiliani or Mrs. Thompson, so if this election comes down to the MEOW factor, I think Romney has the edge.

I just love the way that the A-list obsessed Vanity Fair goes into details like this as if it doesn't describe nearly everyone they write about, and which could easily describe the Clintons: Today she and ~~Giuliani~~Clinton, when they are not boarding private Gulfstream IV jets to Europe or trying to woo voters, shuttle between a $4 million ~~Hamptons house~~ Westchester House and a $5 million nine-room ~~Upper East Side apartment near Madison Avenue~~ Georgetown mansion, its dining room walnut-paneled and crammed with crystal, china, and linen ~~from Scully & Scully~~ pilfered from The White House. Her annual salary has also improved: $125,000, evidently for helping to write some of the speeches ~~Giuliani~~Clinton likes to give (for which he received ~~$11.7~~$10 million (in 2006). And so forth.

I want to point out that this article was written by a woman. A woman named Judy no less. The article about Hillary’s cleavage was written by a woman fashion reporter. The committed feminist Andrea Mitchell was on meet the Press saying that women need to see “how they trivialize us” in referring to the Jeri Thompson and Hillary stories. I ask, who exactly is “they” ?

Well, well. I've only read a few paragraphs of this VF story and what do we have, but a cat fight between Mrs. Guiliani and Hillbilly Rodham Clinton! Inside the tent were Secretary of State Colin Powell, New York governor George Pataki, Richard Grasso, who was then head of the New York Stock Exchange, and New York mayor Michael Bloomberg. Senator Hillary Clinton stood in the aisle—until she was unceremoniously pushed by a phalanx of four burly cops entering the tent, these guarding Judith Nathan, Giuliani's girlfriend. No apologies were offered, one observer noted. "The nerve of that woman!" Hillary exploded, recalling that her own daughter's Secret Service detail evaporated soon after Bill Clinton left office. Why should an ex-mayor's girlfriend get such royal treatment? "Who does she think she is?" Hillary said to an observer, who later recounted the story. Gosh, I wonder what side VF is taking in this.
