I hope Beauchamp gets what is coming to him for lying and pushing his disingenuous agenda. I just also hope that the commenters here remember the contributions of Matt Sanchez and other homosexuals to our nation's security & prosperity rather than disparage and damn them to hell as they have here here and here.
Sinner, while I haven't been reading Hot Air or any other blog for that matter for about 6 weeks while being in FL because my mother had surgery on her knees and then a heart attack, I honestly never have seen more than one or two creeps who say anything about gays negatively and when they do either Michelle, Bryan or Allah and the rest of us for that matter say something to those people. As for Matt Sanchez, he's a very attractive man regardless of his orientation. I have a friend who is still an Air Force pilot who is also gay and a hottie to boot and no one really says anything or cares for that matter. It just annoys me to no end though how some people always have to play the victim.
As for Beauchamp, he's a first class idiot and while I met a few like him in the military, fortunately he's a rare breed. No one I know believed any of that garbage he wrote and he probably should be scared right now because I would imagine there are a lot of people who would like to see something happen to him but they know better. I think Silver Star has hit the nail on the head. This guy must be a poor excuse for a Soldier to have been in for 2 1/2 years and only be a Private. I believe he is a man on a mission to make the military look bad for his TNR wife and her little liberal friends.

Gay conservatives like myself are constantly demeaned on this site, if you haven’t noticed.

The Sinner on August 1, 2007 at 12:15 AM

The quote you used doesn't show someone demeaning you as a gay conservative but rather stating the obvious.

Gay people, in general, do not vote Republican. There's nothing to argue with there.

Besides, you're not even the only gay conservative here.

Conservatives don’t think homosexuality is a sin.
However many Christians do, be they lib or con.

And yeah, I have to agree on that one. Conservatives in general aren't always Christians. Homosexuality isn't really a conservative issue except that, by definition, conservatives would conserve tradition by not changing the way marriage is defined.

The Sinner-

Homosexuality is most likely Nature's way of contolling overpopulation through a recessive gene expressed whenever the organism senses overcrowding.

People should be glad that it occurs.

It self-regulates over overuse of resources.

The problem, now, is that technology has done an end-run around Mother N. with in vitro, etc.

The water tables of the world are being overtaxed by local runaway population growth, expecially in areas where they cannot afford desalinization to counterbalance the loss.

Nature's ways of checkmating our follies are as harsh as we are arrogant.

I'm sure Scott T. Beauchamp would agree.

Trust me on this one “The Sinner”
Conservatives don’t think homosexuality is a sin.
However many Christians do, be they lib or con.

I am an ultra-conservative and not a Christian but rather a deist.
I don’t think it is a sin so much as it is just plain disgusting.
Hey, to each his own I say.
Just don’t come crying for my tax money to cure some disease that you go out of your way to get.

Take a look at the vitriol towards homosexuals in other Hot Air threads Bryan, and you’ll know what I mean.

Now your talkin' talk about gay people, talk more about gay people. We need more dialogue about Gay issues.

I'm more interested in your vitriol toward the readers here, in this thread. If you're hijacking this thread for your liberal pals to distract from the facts that Matt is reporting re Beauchamp, it won't last long.

The Sinner

You make a great point. But, I think conservatives aspire for a perfect world. We dont always live up to the standards we wish to aspire America to be. We all fall short. I look at port almost daily, but I would want to elect someone in office that aspires to rid the world of porn, that is not hypocrisy, that is in search of a perfect world.

Conservatives think Homosexuality is a sin, we aspire for all to be heterosexuals, to replenish the Earth, but most of us dont hate homosexuals, we may be disgusted by the act, but we dont hate them. We all know that there are some honorable games that may be less sinful than ourselves, but that does not mean we cant aspire for this to be a world without homosexuality, sorry, it is just not a normal act. Everyone knows it, though some want to deny it.

This is not a perfect world, and too your point, we need to get along, hate the sin, love the sinner. As I said, I sin almost daily, so do homosexuals, God does not tell a difference in the sins, they are both sins. As far as we know, he may never even look at porn now, he may of been able to break that sin, and good for him.

I think the whole point is, Conservatives elect Conservatives to office to better the world, to get us as close to sinless as it can get. Liberals want more sin, more homosexuals, more dead babies, more sex, more lust, more greed, you name it, they are for it. Conservatives ar against it, but get caught up in the sins. That does not make them a hypocrite, it makes them a sinner.

Does anyone else hear the "Twilight Zone" theme in the background?

The Sinner likes to call other people names, but any critique of his poorly-worded hyper-prose is DEMEANING !!

Scott Thomas Beauchamp is married to a STAFFer at The New Republic.

He has also been enlisted in the military for a scant two and a half years, and he still hasn't promoted past the rank of Private. I wonder why... maybe he just isn't the least bit interested in advancing his job/career, because it isn't a job/carrer, it's an OPPORTUNITY with a lot more at stake than a simple military enlistment.

Does anyone else think it's even a remote possiblilty that since Beauchamp's married to a New Republic staffer, that he joined up in the military solely to have this opportunity and this whole thing's a fix?

""The enemy doesn't exist. We are here only to create more terrorists. I pursed my lips. A distant IED rocked the skyline.
Like this comment in the current YouTube/CNN debate thread:

AllahPundit, I think that we’ve FINALLY found someone that wants to talk about gay RIGHTS.

Mr. Sinner, maybe the nice Mr. AllahPundit can get you and audience with the Secretary General of the United Nations now...... OF COURSE, we ALL need to be talking about gay RIGHTS. After all, there are more gays than YouTubers anyhow, right? And most of those gays vote Republican, after all, don’t they?

Gay conservatives like myself are constantly demeaned on this site, if you haven't noticed.

Update On The Beauchamp Story....

Matt Sanchez, a Marine Reservist, is currently in Iraq interviewing soldiers and visited the camp that was made famous not for heroic deeds, which I'm sure there are many such examples, but made famous due to one douchebag making stories......

and for being a C-grade fiction writer

Yeah, but in the desert, he's considered a solid A- grade fiction writer. Any female that has deployed knows what I am talking about.

At The Source...

The soldiers at the base aren't happy campers with what has transpired thus far, and Matt captures the situation objectively and fairly - a far cry from what TNR did....

OOPS - I meant to blockquote this

that the New Republic has sent “one or two emails” to the PAO at FOB Falcon to ask what were called “lukewarm” questions as part of their effort to “re-report” the stories.

and not blockquote:

Sounds like TNR is intentionally not “re-reporting” and just sort of pretending the shoe isn’t going to drop.

I read were the “TNR Whistleblower” told Ace that the TNR staff are putting up a lot of bravado publicly, but privately they are very nervous…
