What about those folks that have to take steroids for things like asthma and balloon without eating mega amounts of carbs? Should they pay a higher rate? Or how about people who have had their gall-bladder removed and they suddenly gain weight and can’t keep it off?

You’re delusional. First of all, medical professionals know what defines obese. So, if your BMI is over a certain percentage, yeah, you’re fat. And here’s a clue: you’re probably fat too. And yeah, you should pay higher premiums. Your risk is greater. As for old people, no one can stop getting older, but fat people can lose weight. BTW, just so you know what I’m refering to here: OBESE PEOPLE AS CERTIFIED BY A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL THAT HAVE NO OTHER PHYSICAL AILMENT THAT CAUSES OBSESITY. Are we clear?

Obese people have a MUCH higher rate of heart problems. Their hearts have to work harder pumping blood though that much more body mass. And by the way… you never see people who are old AND fat. Fat people don’t live as long. That’s just a fact of life.

Are you going to deny the fact that obese people like Moore have more ailments, at a higher frequency and severity as normal weight people??? If you are, you should pull your head outta yer arse.

Please, oh expert on “fat” people–tell us HOW people become obese? Is it simply because they “love to eat?” Many people gain weight BECAUSE of medical conditions. Sure, there are some folks out there that should stay away from the Big Mac–but I know more people that are over-weight that eat healthy and exercise and by government standards are considered “obese.”

So what gives? Who’s gonna be the Fat Czar? Elliot Spitzer?

It’s like raising taxes on cigarettes to fund schools. Let’s punish a certain percentage of people to buy kids notebooks and computers. How macabre is that? “Hey kid–don’t smoke, it’s bad for you. BUT–those smelly individuals over there do and guess what? They paid for that shiny new white board!”

So I am watching “Ice Road Truckers” on the History channel last night and one of the truckers gets hurt see and they have to take him to the Canadian hospital and he is Canadian see and then he says well I am out of pocket 12K for the medical bills see. I thought health care in Canada was free????

Canada actually gets a lot of its health care from the Lower 48, as 90 % of Canadians live within 50 miles from the USA and there are no waiting lists

I live near where that documentary was shot; industrial medevacs like that aren’t free, nor are ambulance rides (over $1000!). However, aboriginals from remote communities get free air medevacs to the local capitol (Yellowknife, NT) for every little tummyache and boo-boo. Or if they just want to go to Walmart…
