Video: “Shooting Michael Moore” trailer

posted at 12:42 pm on July 30, 2007 by Bryan

That’s the name of the documentary made by Kevin Leffler, who grew up with Moore in Flint, MI. Leffler used his own money to fund the film. It looks like a devastating takedown of the leftwing agitprop crockumentarian.

Here’s a Q&A with Leffler on CSPAN yesterday. Leffler spares Moore no mercy.

If you missed it, here’s our takedown of Moore’s Sicko.

So I am watching “Ice Road Truckers” on the History channel last night and one of the truckers gets hurt see and they have to take him to the Canadian hospital and he is Canadian see and then he says well I am out of pocket 12K for the medical bills see. I thought health care in Canada was free????

LakeRuins on July 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM

I listened to a replay on C-Span radio on the way into work this morning. I found it amazing that Mikey would stop at nothing to silence his critics. Mr. Leffler recounted the story of his daughter covering the film’s opening for a local NBC affiliate in Michigan. He knew from seeing her on TV who her dad was and told her flat out not to help her dad. Then he apperantly had some goons threaten her again. Also, Mr. Leffler is expecting some sort of legal action now that this program aired.

Mikey has no class. It is evident in the way he has treated the people covering him and in the way he has treated the people he has “used” in his crockumentaries. What scum Micheal Moore is.

Pardon me…I must now wash my hands after typing his name.

I am shocked!!!!

Consider the wool pulled back from over my eyes.

He puts the “bastard” in “Fat bastard”!
Oh wait, he puts the “Fat” in that too.

Do you think a proper introduction could help Mr. Moore?

No need to thank me. Just bein’ neighborly.

The most profound statement I’ve heard in a long time…

Those lefties who “Love America” if we can only change this and this and this…. try that with your wife and see how far you get….

LOL!!!!

GREAT POINT!

It took everyone this long to figure this out?

Kini on July 30, 2007 at 1:17 PM

Frankly, I think anybody that doesn’t call for their pitbull when a Hollywood documentary filmmaker tells them he wants to use their personal tragedy to make the world a better place is probably dumb enough to deserve the exploitation they get. Assuming that there are genuine journalists or filmmakers in the world, it is their responsibility to expose Moore for his self-feeding chicanery. It should be authentic journalists who should make Moore persona non grata in the Hollywood system (don’t hold your breath). You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. You thought a committed socialist with a long track record of hysterical editing practices is going to treat your case with integrity and candor?! You must be a candidate for the Darwin Awards!

I loved the peace symbol on the kitchen cabinet door knobs!

Great video!

Pam on July 30, 2007 at 1:23 PM

When has the truth got into the way when the left is trying to enrich their on positions. If it wasn’t for the little man being exploited, the dimos would not have a base to build on. A perfect example of exploiting the poor every election year is Edwards. Just another lying hypocrite dressed in dimo clothing. The difference between Edwards and Moore is one smells like hair spray and the other one smells like urine.

volsense on July 30, 2007 at 1:29 PM

The Hitchens review of Fahrenheit 9-11 published in Slate was devastating, and opened a lot of eyes to the real Michael Moore, but there was another, previous expose that was even worse. I can’t find it, but I’ll keep trying.

It was directed more to the personal shortcomings of Moore as an author and director, an employer, and a person. He’s a lying pig, and this guy — his former partner — knew it better than anyone else.

Hey guys, I grew up in Flint at the same time as our Mike. I could tell you some stories that would make your head spin.

As a tease, his old high school has a hall of fame for famous grads. They refuse to induct Mike.

swami on July 30, 2007 at 1:42 PM

According to O’Reilly a couple weeks ago, Moore negotiated a deal so that 50% of all Sicko profits went to HIM, an unheard-of sum for a filmmaker. Hey, more power to him if he can get that money, but it certainly shows his true colors.

RMCS_USN on July 30, 2007 at 1:42 PM

Not for nothing but the History Channel may have pulled a fast one possibly crashing the notion of Canada’s great socialized healthcare system. On the show Ice Road Truckers, one of the truckers was airlifted out of a rest area during a delivery. He was air ambulanced from the remote rest stop to a hospital due to pain and breathing issues from an on the job injury. The show said he was stuck with a $12,000 medical bill. Where is Michael Moore to investigate this tradgety?

Rich on July 30, 2007 at 1:42 PM

Slightly off-topic, but did anyone ever follow up on the smokinggun report a year or so ago that showed Moore was registered to vote in New York and Michigan at the same time?

Somehow the smokinggun link did not go through. Here it is:

The problem, and why I think this documentary won’t go any farther than most documentaries, is that it’s a real documentary….which means, it’s kind of dry.

One of the greatest powers of Moore’s ‘mockumentaries’ is that he’s not worried about the facts, so, he makes it entertaining. That’s why his films get released to theaters and other documentaries don’t.

Which means, unless someone is able to make a Michael Moore expose documentary that’s at least almost as entertaining to the masses as Moore’s films are, these films are always going to be being watched by the same few people that already think Moore is a jerk and a liar.

I saw the full Q & A on C-Span yesterday and was hoping that you’d feature it. Thank you Bryan.

Now, if only this w/b propagated to all those MM ‘believers’. Chances are not very good.

I’m going over to DKos and watch some heads explode. Gotta love that cognitive dissonance!!

HAHA! Good stuff.

congsan on July 30, 2007 at 2:29 PM

We overestimate the power of facts, reason and logic on the Michael Moore’s of our world (aka Liberals).

Look at all the facts out there about the 2000 and 2004 election–you know, the ones that show Bush won DESPITE the voter fraud practiced by the Left. If those facts haven’t awkened our Liberal friends, this guy’s video will not either.

I hope I am wrong, and kudos the film maker. We need you to try!

Montana on July 30, 2007 at 2:36 PM

Propaganda Fuhrer says, “Do as I say, not as I do”. Must be a Liberal?

His propaganda has done more to embolden the enemies of this country than anything produced by our enemies. Using 9/11, and presenting the lie of his production is a diabolical act of support for Jihad…..which was rewarded by Hollywood.

Hening on July 30, 2007 at 2:37 PM

Although I loved watching the trailer, I highly doubt many of his supporters will be swayed if they ever see it.

Remember, we are to the left what the left is to us. We just have the good sense to use those annoying facts to back up our points.

More on our Mike.

In roger and Me, he shows a process server evicting families from their homes, framed as GM workers losing their homes. In bowling for Columbine, the little girl from Flint that was shot at school (God rest her soul)share some common ground.

The neighborhood were the girl lived and the footage showing the evictions are the same neighborhood. One of the most transient areas and collection of lowlifes in the area. I can guarantee you that if we all met at this neighborhood tomorrow (the last day of the month), we would see the same number of evictions and people being tossed to the street. It happens every month in this neighborhood.

Here’s what roger and me doesn’t tell you. The film was shot in the mid eighties, giving the illusion that what moore was filming was happening in real time, but the number of people evicted from their homes reached it’s apex in the late 70′s when unemployment in Flint reached 37%. I know, I was there. Incidentally, who was POTUS in the late 70′s?

Kowboy on July 30, 2007 at 2:37 PM

True. But everyone has their own set of facts these days. In all seriousness, some of these people are so far gone I don’t know how they’ll ever come back, and the insanity is viral. I often wonder if this was what things were like in 1850-1859 – did it get to the point that there was just no use talking anymore?

Laura on July 30, 2007 at 3:01 PM

I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!

Where do I send the money?

AND MM IS A TAX CHEAT TOO?

MM would be Mr. MOORE, not our BELOVED “MM”.

seejanemom on July 30, 2007 at 3:02 PM

I didn’t get to watch the video clips, above, but in the Q&A, Mr. Kevin Leffler was asked of his political affiliation, and he said to Brian Lamb that he’s a democrat.

Entelechy on July 30, 2007 at 3:19 PM

AND MM IS A TAX CHEAT TOO?

I love how the left says taxes are good and it’s moral to pay them… until it’s time to cut the check.

Laura on July 30, 2007 at 3:31 PM

Michael Moore lies? Takes things out of context? Is out only for himself and really doesn’t care about the little guy?

Damn. I haven’t been caught this off guard since the equally unpredictable occurence of Lindsey Lohan’s latest DUI …

The whole point of a trailer is to give the viewer enough info to make them want to see the movie but not the whole narrative. This vid is four minutes too long and gives way too much info to be a trailer.

Recut and release… you could have a winner there.

ScottMcC on July 30, 2007 at 4:49 PM

Something to savor from Moore’s website:

Wednesday, January 14th, 2004 I’ll Be Voting For Wesley Clark / Good-Bye Mr. Bush
by Michael Moore

Many of you have written to me in the past months asking, “Who are you going to vote for this year?” I have decided to cast my vote in the primary for Wesley Clark. That’s right, a peacenik is voting for a general. What a country! I believe that Wesley Clark will end this war. He will make the rich pay their fair share of taxes.

I live near where that documentary was shot; industrial medevacs like that aren’t free, nor are ambulance rides (over $1000!). However, aboriginals from remote communities get free air medevacs to the local capitol (Yellowknife, NT) for every little tummyache and boo-boo. Or if they just want to go to Walmart…

Poor TJ has a muscle tear and nearly dies, then has to pay for the ‘LifeFlight’?

Canada actually gets a lot of its health care from the Lower 48, as 90 % of Canadians live within 50 miles from the USA and there are no waiting lists

Please, oh expert on “fat” people–tell us HOW people become obese? Is it simply because they “love to eat?” Many people gain weight BECAUSE of medical conditions. Also, studies have shown that many overweight people are MUCH healthier than those chic skinny folks. So by your reasoning, Americans that are fat should pay more for medical services? What about old people? They really suck the system dry! How about those evil people that really screw the system when they’re born with autism?

You’re theses is retarded. According to the government, I’m a fatty. I’m 6’4″, 260. Strange, I don’t look fat. So, should I pay higher premiums? What about those folks that have to take steroids for things like asthma and balloon without eating mega amounts of carbs? Should they pay a higher rate? Or how about people who have had their gall-bladder removed and they suddenly gain weight and can’t keep it off?

Sure, there are some folks out there that should stay away from the Big Mac–but I know more people that are over-weight that eat healthy and exercise and by government standards are considered “obese.”

So what gives? Who’s gonna be the Fat Czar? Elliot Spitzer?

It’s like raising taxes on cigarettes to fund schools. Let’s punish a certain percentage of people to buy kids notebooks and computers. How macabre is that? “Hey kid–don’t smoke, it’s bad for you. BUT–those smelly individuals over there do and guess what? They paid for that shiny new white board!”

You need to think about what you posted a bit more.

robblefarian on July 30, 2007 at 9:27 PM

robblefarian

Obese people have a MUCH higher rate of heart problems. Their hearts have to work harder pumping blood though that much more body mass. And by the way… you never see people who are old AND fat. Fat people don’t live as long. That’s just a fact of life.

Paul the American on July 30, 2007 at 11:09 PM

You’re delusional. First of all, medical professionals know what defines obese. So, if your BMI is over a certain percentage, yeah, you’re fat. And here’s a clue: you’re probably fat too. And yeah, you should pay higher premiums. Your risk is greater. As for old people, no one can stop getting older, but fat people can lose weight. BTW, just so you know what I’m refering to here: OBESE PEOPLE AS CERTIFIED BY A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL THAT HAVE NO OTHER PHYSICAL AILMENT THAT CAUSES OBSESITY. Are we clear?

Andy in Agoura Hills on July 31, 2007 at 12:45 AM

Sorry, I don’t agree. And I’m not delusional. And no–I’m not fat. According to the government, Charles Barkley is obese.

Maybe YOU should be the fat czar, Andy?
