ZRyan Yes, Green Arrow has been changed into a liberal during the 1970’s “Hard Travelling Heroes” series with Green Lantern. This decision was made to rejuvenate the GL series and to give new life to GA by tapping on the the issues of the times. Indeed, the first instance of GA changing took place in an old Justice League comic book while he had his old costume on where he complained that the JLA should not just be concerned with the intergalatic threats, that the average person should be able to count on JLA help (as I remember the story). But, his origin has been constantly changed a bit over the years from being a straight laced millionare to a hardcore womanizer to a man who lost his fortune forced to live and fight as a poor man does, to more recently a champaign socialist. But, I must confess I have not seen anything of his advocating redistribution of wealth and kissing the ass of Stalin, Che, and Mao (but, I have not seen recent issues of GA either, so I cannot speak with certainty). But, I would not be surprised if Green Arrow would launch a Che Guevarra arrow someday considering how DC tends to rewrite his character. For those few of you who know me, you know that I am not as conservative as the rest of you. But, for me, there is a difference between social justice and SOCIALIST INJUSTICE of the hardcore leftists of the once great DNP. I think GA is Ok the way he is…for now. When he cuts loose that Che Guevarra arrow, then I will definitely agree with you. Oh, yes, for the record, I don’t smoke weed (I value my brain synapses and I don’t want Michelle to come after me). But, there is a nice evergreen tree outside, so if you have any Bambu Rolling Papers…

Given the cast and the timing of release, I still have difficulty believing it won’t be an anti-US, anti-capitalist, anti-war, anti-Republican propaganda piece, with a good dose of Islamist moral equivalency thrown in, too, just in case.

But I’ll admit the trailer looks good.

DoD approval and AF help. Let’s calm down on this whole “anti-Republican” film bashing until we actually see the movie. Same people here claimed 28 Weeks Later was fanactially anti-American, yet the film completely validates the US Military firebombing of London.

Also don’t forget Stark was in Afghanistan when he was wounded and captured, probably by the Taliban (updated from the “Vietnamese Warlord”). The Mark I suite battle is against a bunch of islamofascists cave-dwellers, or as the Brit media says, “asian gunmen”.

Downey’s performance really reminded me of somebody, and it took a while for me to pin it down. He’s imitating Dennis Miller. Weird. It totally works, but weird.

Incidentally, if they haven’t taken it down yet, expect them to shortly. Paramount is apparently cracking down on sites hosting the video.

Iron man was one of my favs.
