The thread is over but in the unlikely event you read this, I apologize. In my zeal to put down the extreme behavior of Arabs and Islam, which frankly we’re all getting freaking tired of, I objectified their women.

And there was no reason to include Hillary in my ill conceived diatribe.

BTW, does that mean it didn’t happen? Because no matter who the Arabs are, this is the part that makes the whole thing look like a Flying Imams-ish set-up:

After they were already on the runway? That sounds perfectly timed for maximum disturbance and inconvenience.

….and it’s not like flight schools have been tunring away middle eastern students. There should be plenty of qualified pilots for them to hire.

was incorrect. Not that the event itself was misreported, simply the connection to the Emir wasn’t correct or justified.

The Bader klan are not direct relatives, Qatari yes, Emiri Diwan, no.

At least that was my reading of his comment. But I’ll admit that I don’t have the background to know all the players and names/titles that the comment uses.

Given the wealth of the party and the long delay on the runway, I’ll bet money was offered to the other passengers to get them to move. Verrrrry interesting that it was refused.

If they’re really that wealthy, which, traveling with such an entourage implies, why not buy out the first class seat, or, as others have suggested, fly their own plane?

The Qatari’s are saying it indeed DID NOT HAPPEN and these newspapers have been sued in the past by the Royal Family and lost huge sums of money

look, I travel with them, all the time been doing it for years, they are the most western tolerant group out there as well as the UAE. They ride on school buses, sit in mixed school assemblys, play on soccer, vollyball teams have large international cultural events and are in a serious bid for the olympics

So you are saying nothing like this happened? That the Mail made this up out of whole cloth? Perhaps a slight misunderstanding between the passengers and the flight crew that the Mail has inflated somewhat?

I really want to play this kind of thing down the middle so set me straight here. We’re all a bit quick on the trigger when it comes to this kind of thing.

You’re correct if the flight is to a destination outside of the EU. Within the EU, (they were flying from Italy to London) the seating arrangement for business class would be 2-3. The 2-4-2 sleeper configuration is used only for long-haul flights.

Wouldn’t this have been all the more interesting if one of the pilots/co-pilots had been a woman?

The Emir has his own fleet of planes and western military pilots at his 24/7 disposal, he also owns a complete 5 star airlines approaching the size of American Airlines.

The daughters (princesses) of the Emir are accomplished and highly educated (Duke and Havard or Brown) international diplomats including UN Ambassadors who have spoken out against terrorism at the very risk of their own lives and have sponsored the Prime Minister of Israel and an Israeli Mission to their country much to the anger of their neighbors, they are a brave and resourceful people and our are biggest allies in the Middle East next to Israel.

Britain has had several of its corporations purchased recently by the Emir and this was just an insulting hit piece in retaliation.

This is not the first slanderous article by the Daily Mail they did one in its Arab Language Newspaper against the Emira and she was awarded millions of pounds which she turned around and donated I believe to British Charities

The Royal family of Qatar is a class act

That said, if they have 8 seats, they might not have all been together and thus impossible to seperate the princesses from the riffraff common man.

Anyway, you guys have this all wrong. I would be all about sitting next to some Qatari princesses. Can we say “gravy train”?

How outraged would you be at the suggestion that people step on images of the Crucifix and submerge the Bible in toilet water?

I don’t have anything in common with Fred Phelps or even a family of Menonites. What about those Christians who use the Bible to justify slavery or racism?

Despite our differences, I would be disgusted if people took to desecrating Christian symbols in protest of these extreme interpretations of Christianity.

It’s not OK when they do it to us. Disagree with dignity.

(And yes, I get that the Star of David carpeting was supposed to be used against the flying Arabs.)
