Video: “They” want you to focus on my hair, says Silky
posted at 5:00 pm on July 27, 2007 by Allahpundit
Via Ben Smith. He doesn’t mention the hair explicitly but it’s clear what he’s talking about. I wonder, does the left’s unusual interest in Giuliani’s ferret rant or Romney’s dog-on-the-roof episode or Fred’s “trophy wife” also indicate a desire to distract? I’m a little hazy on the lines between character insights and “distractions” designed to draw attention away from policy proposals, but I’m pretty sure that all attacks on the left fall into the latter category and all attacks on the right fall into the former.

Never mind, I think it’s hair gell.
FloatingRock on July 27, 2007 at 5:12 PM
What’s with the “they” thing here? You, Mr. Jerky Boy were the one to draw all the attention to your precious hair, with your $400. haircuts and your posing on You-tube. You have no one to blame but your own sorry, very sorry ass!
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on July 27, 2007 at 5:14 PM
Poor Silky…
Wade on July 27, 2007 at 5:15 PM
There is an old Robert Redford movie called The Candidate. It’s about an empty, grasping pretty-boy who wins a senatorial race based on looks and guile. Silky has seen it.
JiangxiDad on July 27, 2007 at 5:17 PM
Teh wont stop meh from talkin about hair care fo all.
Kini on July 27, 2007 at 5:20 PM
And just liek liberals.
They are all for free speech except when it disagrees with them. Then they want it banned

they’reRush Limbaugh is going to continue to control this country.Thye’reHotAir is going to control the media. They’reALLAHPUNDIT IS going to control what’s being said. They do not want to hear us talking abouthealthhair care for everybody. There I fixed that for the Edwards campaign.

I like you better as a ghost writer in the latest book.
I’ll give out the name of the book here, if you mention my editing copyright above.

Sooooooooooo silky!
Alden Pyle on July 27, 2007 at 5:33 PM
Shoot, now we can’t talk about Silky’s beauty care expenses, because that’s the same as censorship. “They” must be the reason no one else is talking about ending the war, health care or poverty. Well, no one except approximately everybody.
And of course there was the obligatory Ron Paul cultist in the Politico thread saying something like “this is another good reason to vote for Ron Paul”.
Yeah, that Silky is a paranoid conspiracy theory nut is a GREAT reason to vote for a paranoid conspiracy theory nut like Paul. gg
Hollowpoint on July 27, 2007 at 5:42 PM
If by “They” he means a large majority of the American public I think he may be on to something. How many families can’t feed their kids? I didn’t realise America was on a par with some of the poorest African countries economically. Should I send you guys aid money?
aengus on July 27, 2007 at 5:48 PM
That’s right. You’re the Sanjayah of the presidential field.
warriorlawyer on July 27, 2007 at 5:58 PM
It aint the hair it’s your effeminate little wrist.
TheSitRep on July 27, 2007 at 5:58 PM
HELLO?!?!?!?! Is anyone in there?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The Dems have majority control in Congress!!!! Who has controlled the media?!?!?!?! Is this thing on?!?!?!?!
Universal health care? Hillary tried and failed. And besides, a man WORTH listening to already spoke to this topic – have you ever heard of Ronald Reagan, Silky?
Sheesh. Hey Silky! You have the right to remain silent. Use it.
CrimsonFisted on July 27, 2007 at 6:00 PM
Let’s call him a waahmbulance…
jdawg on July 27, 2007 at 6:00 PM
Didn’t he lose credibility when, at the debate, he was given a chance to mention a serious policy difference with Hillary…and he mentioned her jacket?
It’s not about his hair! It’s about Hillary’s clothes!
MayBee on July 27, 2007 at 6:02 PM
Like Ron White, he has the right to remain silent but just ain’t got the will or the brains.
bbz123 on July 27, 2007 at 6:03 PM
I’d say give him a galaxy sized wedgie but since he probably got them daily in high school he now loves the feeling so much he probably wears a thong.
Kowboy on July 27, 2007 at 6:14 PM
I’m confused, he says “They will continue to control the media” etc. etc. Is he now aligning himself against the libs?
srhoades on July 27, 2007 at 6:15 PM
If he was really serious, he’d shave his head bald. “There, now you can’t talk about my $400 haircuts any more!”
Nethicus on July 27, 2007 at 6:22 PM
Mousse. Mickey Mousse. C’mon, let’s take Mr. Mousse seriously. No more jokes, OK?
jaime on July 27, 2007 at 6:43 PM
Maybe this is why he sends the pitbull out. Sorry, I can’t take him seriously. Left has the moral authority, yata, yata, yata. They don’t care about you. Same old story, same old song and dance my friend.
PowWow on July 27, 2007 at 6:44 PM
It’s not that we want to “Shut John Edwards Up”, but rather
want John Edwards to “Shut up” with his ridiculous class warfare tactics and whining about how he left a restaurant when he was 4 years old. Everything seemed to turn out ok (28,000 square foot house with millions in the bank).
truthmattersfa on July 27, 2007 at 6:50 PM
Yeah, our continued attempts at humor aren’t helping him comb the tangles out of his campaign.
FloatingRock on July 27, 2007 at 6:53 PM
What a pathetic little man he is.
katieanne on July 27, 2007 at 6:58 PM
What’s with the yellow bracelet on his wrist?

Speaking of silencing people, I wonder what Silky’s feelings on the fairness doctrine are?

PowWow on July 27, 2007 at 7:31 PM
I guess that just like Silky says there are “two Americas”, there are also two 1st amendments to the constitution — you know, the right to free speech that applies to Silky, and the one that applies to all of the rest of us little people.
CyberCipher on July 27, 2007 at 7:36 PM
Wow I couldn’t focus at all on the video due to that beautiful man’s hair.
Hey John, if you don’t want people to focus on your hair, get a $15 haircut like the rest of us. Maybe YOU don’t want people to focus on what you’re saying either. They’d realize how vapid and inane it its.
Mojave Mark on July 27, 2007 at 7:57 PM
We have met they and they are us.

Silky knows. He sees “them” every morning when he shaves.
He does shave doesn’t he?
TunaTalon on July 27, 2007 at 8:06 PM
He spent that whole clip talking about how “they” don’t want him to talk about health care et. al. Yet HE didn’t talk about those things….he just complained that “they” don’t want him to talk about those things.
I guess his strategy is “vote for me because ‘they’ are picking on me.”

- They wont ta silence meeee
- They don’t wont ta hear us talkin’ bout health care for evry-boudy
- They hate listening to people liiike me
I beleeve in all dat stuff. I’ll teeell ya dat riiite naow!
nottakingsides on July 27, 2007 at 8:59 PM
“They want to shut me up” and “They have to listen to me”.
Hallelujah that you’re not “shutting up” dear. With that kind of righteousness and lecturing to us ‘children’, and with zero credibility and substance behind that pretty rich face and body of yours, what you spew will shut itself up soon enough. Just keep on going like this. You’re doing faaane!
One thing aaa can tell you – we won’t listen to this for the next 8 years, for sure!
Entelechy on July 27, 2007 at 10:37 PM
Yes, that’s right. WE stay up nights, trying to distract people from health care by talking about some b*lless douche bag’s hair. I keep having this dream that if this feckless turd is elected, the four horseman of the apocalypse will be standing behind during his speech looking at their watches waiting to begin the end of the world. What has this country been reduced too that we can actually consider this clown a serious candidate?
austinnelly on July 27, 2007 at 10:40 PM
Mr. ACORN!
How’s your hair doing? And your nutroot campaign?
Third place? That’s what I thought…
Good Lt on July 27, 2007 at 11:18 PM
Not one word of (Hillary’s)RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY.
canopfor on July 27, 2007 at 11:53 PM
Damn skippy, Silky. I’d love nothing more than to silence you, but that doesn’t mean I can silence you. Fortunately, the first amendment right to free speech does not give one a right to an audience.

Exactly.
Newsflash: if you’re entire message is “I’m for the poor man,” and then you spend more on a haircut then the average “little guy” spends on his 10-year-old used Honda Civic … you’re going to take some shit for it.
What is hard to understand about this?
Professor Blather on July 28, 2007 at 12:55 PM
Maybe the “they” he is talking about is really his wife (she is a chubby, isn’t she). She usually does all the talking for him.
jeffNWV on July 28, 2007 at 2:14 PM
late but ….. where does the 8 years come into play ? did i miss somthing? i thought our President was elected to a term of 4 years. just curious.
