This whole idea that getting people who wouldn’t otherwise be interested in politics into watching Youtool videos, I don’t see the point. A better idea would be to not spread the word so much that there is an election, and those people wouldn’t know they were missing anything, and only people who are serious about this country would know when to go and vote. The way things are going now, fan videos will lose novelty and the candidates themselves will be in videos shaking their butts.

This gives handlers/advisors/stylists/etc. the opportunity to review all submissions ahead of time, in addition to the editing by CNN.

No “spontaneity” or “authenticity” as good Glenn said. Questions from a live audience are about the only impromptu method there is to test a candidate’s brain, wit, authenticity, good/bad sense, not to mention his/her reality check or unrehearsed belief system.

I’ve always thought that A. M. Cox “you know” is a gimmick. She seems to favor the word. She does have somewhat of a reality sense since she doesn’t take this too seriously, nor expects others to.

I want someone to ask the f*gg*t how much one of these are.

A YouTube debate is a pretty good idea! I agree with Allahpundit, missed opportunity by CNN since they are choosing the questions. Result: same questions in a more entertaining way. Ultimate result: same ol’ answers.

I’m sure if FOX News were doing this you would have no trouble at all comming to grips with all the moral and ethical dilemmas.
