Drove to Tulsa from Chicago last year on a beer run disgused as a truck buying trip.
Stopped in the first place that had a sign, and bought it all.
And half the Shiner Blonde as well……

Haven’t had a beer since 1980, but I recall Carlsberg Elephant Malt as a tasty brew. Can’t speak for their pilsner.

Whoever mentioned Tusker needs a CAT scan. Horrible swill. Of course, it was the only beer available in Kenya in those days.

Sort of related, and more hip if you want to be on the cutting edge of Third World trendy: (more useful in African political circuits than any mentos dufy stuff)
Sudan is one of the leading sources of Gum Arabica and Khartoum in a huff about the usual Darfur complaints recently threatened to cut off supplies to the West – it’s in soft drinks – i.e. No Coke! (certainly America will collapse!)
Southern Sudan, interested in autonomy from Khartoum, quickly countered with the offer that America need not ever worry about shortages of what they prefer to call, Gum AFRICA.*
Forget Carlsberg (okay not completely to support Danish enterprise) but when will we see the East African brews:
Kenyan Breweries Tusker, White Cap and the current cool: Uganda Breweries ESB (Extra Strong Brew), locally known in the region as Equatorial Strong Boy.
This Mentos is so wussy.
In Africa, the game is this: the chloroquin face-off. Two opponents place anti-malaria tablets on the table, with a beer each. At the signal, each takes his pill and chews it. The loser is the first person to lunge for his beer.

*(World magazine had a very good article on the Sudan press conference held in Washington recently- that the MSM media, soooo concerned about Darfur, hardly bothered to send anyone to report on).
