Video: The 10 dumbest submissions to CNN’s YouTube debate

posted at 11:10 am on July 20, 2007 by Allahpundit

Monday night in South Carolina: for the first time, instead of having journalists ask the questions, you’ll ask the questions … after your submission is vetted by journalists, of course, to ensure it asks something they would have asked themselves. CNN’s sister company at Time sifted through the wreckage to assemble this quick and easy promo. It’s all downhill after the first one, but number four, five, and six are worth a watch too.

By special request of the boss, here’s CNN’s own latest promo for the debate. She thinks it’s Cooper and crew being goofy. I think it’s revenge.

Horrifying.

This is all just so stupid. Watching the old media trying to regain relevancy is painful enough, but how many more months election ridiculousness to we have to endure?

I’ve always defended the American people against charges of stupidity.

No longer.

They just don’t make FUNNY the way they used to.

Sigh!

Making politics and presidential campaigns simple shallow entertainment, degrading the importance of the entire process.

Would love to see a re-enactment of the Lincoln-Douglass Debates instead.

Would love to see a re-enactment of the Lincoln-Douglass Debates instead.

Heh. A re-enactment is probably as close to substance as we can get these days.

“whoever put that in there will be dealt with very firmly”

Better watch out Coop’, maybe the culprit was Chuck Norris.

The second one is funny. Why? Because I live in that town! HA!

“…whoever put that in there will be dealt with very firmly”

Soon to be heard out of CNN – “Thank you sir, may I have another!”

Seriously – that was just creepy. Who thought this was a good idea?

nailinmyeye on July 20, 2007 at 12:39 PM

I bet you he did it to drum up a fake fight. Kinda like Trump going after Rosie, I mean, like he really cares what she says/thinks.

If they do this well enough, maybe O’Reilly will talk about them and people will remember that still CNN exists. Trying to get viewers to substitute the ones they lost when Al Jazera English came online.

“My name’s John Darden. And I’m not wearing a shirt.”

That’s all I need to hear. Men were not meant to be topless. It is freakish and perverse and wrong. Begone!

I guess it’s possible LK looks like that. Smoking too much can give you man boobs.

judging by the “write in” questions from the politico.com debate that video might have more substance than anything they pick for the debate.

CaptainObvious on July 20, 2007 at 2:29 PM

AP, you’re so right about the way the questions will be picked for this debate. Wait until the Republican debate. That’ll be a smorgasboard of stupidity. They probably won’t even go through them. Just pick ‘em at random. Or pick the ones that make the candidates look like neanderthals. Either way it’s win-win for CNN-Dims.
