Opine away.
Michelle led off with the Talking Points Memo, which spelled out why we need the John Doe protection that the Democrats unwisely scuttled. If the GOP is smart (work with me here, ok?) they’ll get major mileage out of that issue next year.
I’m leaving the Memo out to focus on the first two segments, because they are important in shedding light on what we’re up against. Notice in the first segment how the Arab American Institutes’s advocate, Rebecca Abou-Chedid, has no problem with the flying imams’ lawsuit, and attempts to draw our attention away from the suit’s intent, which is to frighten future John Does out of speaking up. That enables terrorists to attack. Michelle called her on it repeatedly, but keep in mind: The AAI advocate is one of the so-called “moderates,” but here she is on national TV running interference for a lawsuit designed to have a chilling effect on anti-terror vigilance. She even tried to trap Michelle by suggesting that the John Doe legislation is really aimed at Muslims alone. A basic question arises from this: Whose side is the advocate and her Institute really on?
In the second segment, we get another “tell.” Rev. Gregory Livingstone repeatedly blurs the distinction between US citizens and illegal aliens and never directly answers Michelle’s basic question, whether he favors deporting illegal alien criminals or not. Of course he doesn’t favor that. He’s a police-basher who says he’s not on any criminal’s side even while he’s marching to protest common sense measures like allowing local police to assist the feds in enforcing immigration law against criminal aliens who are already in jail.
In both cases, the guests tried jedi mind tricks to take over the issue and frame it more favorably to their side. In both cases, they failed.

Addressing the Waukegan,Ill situation since I live in the area. Let me say this its about damn time Waukegan was a nice city but lately has been turning into a hellhole. If the city officials want to clean it up by deporting CRIMINAL ILLEGALS then they have every right. Sadly the frakkers will probably just move to my neighbor guess I better brush up on my espaniol. She needs to have them cut off that loudmouthed Livingston’s mic. He’s a blowhard as well as an idiot.
Kowboy on July 20, 2007 at 8:25 PM
Livingston is a typical liberal hack.
He needs to shut his mouth.
PBoilermaker on July 20, 2007 at 8:25 PM
Michelle interviewed a real nut this evening—Rev. Gregory Livingston. I do not understand how certain people such as Rev. Livingston feels comfortable protecting and speaking up for the “rights” of illegal criminal alients who break in to this country. It’s offensive at best.
Lennie on July 20, 2007 at 8:27 PM
I personally think racial profiling works. After all, most sex offenders are white men.
hinduconservative on July 20, 2007 at 8:28 PM
that Rainbow/Push guy is a real knucklehead! What a motor mouth. “…who’s an immigrant and who’s not…”, what the heck kind of question is that????
Zorro on July 20, 2007 at 8:28 PM
She seems to guest hosting more than the host himself lately.

That’s a good thing. The more Michelle, the better.
PBoilermaker on July 20, 2007 at 8:32 PM
Man alive that “Reverand” frosted my grits. I wish MM had asked him one question in reference to racial profiling. “Exactly what race are illegal aliens?” I’ve never been able to figure that out. I think they’re probably Canadians…are Canadians a race? How would you profile Canadians? Listen for the ehs.
Oldnuke on July 20, 2007 at 8:33 PM
I’m pretty sure we can all be reverands if we want. There is a website. You pay with a CC and you can run around calling yourself Reverand.
That means you can just shout over people when you have no facts to back up your argument.
PBoilermaker on July 20, 2007 at 8:35 PM
I noticed that MM was a little ‘Frosty’ with the Rainbow Push guy too. She had what, in the day, we called “The Look”. If she’d a been lookin at me I’da been cringing down in my seat.

Rev. Livingston, the typical liberal. Just keep on spouting, do not give anybody else a change to say anything and he won the argument.
SIJ6141 on July 20, 2007 at 8:39 PM
Linguistic profiling.
Can we do that? Or would the ACLU smack us?
Oldnuke on July 20, 2007 at 8:39 PM
No he didn’t, he lost big time. He who talks most does not always win. He didn’t make any sense and looked like a fool. It was obvious to the most casual observer.
Oldnuke on July 20, 2007 at 8:41 PM
Michelle could easily fill a show with her own interviews. These Factor Flashbacks are the worst.
PBoilermaker on July 20, 2007 at 8:42 PM
Boy, As much as I love Michelle, I had to turn it off with that loudmouth idiot Livingston. There are few people that can make Al Sharpton look like a classy guy with a brilliant mind. This guy does, and makes even Malik Shabazz seem reasonable.
LegendHasIt on July 20, 2007 at 8:43 PM
You do not understand, only in his own mind.
SIJ6141 on July 20, 2007 at 8:43 PM
I seriously doubt many people could make Malik Shabazz look even remotely reasonable. Shabazz makes Manson look reasonable.
PBoilermaker on July 20, 2007 at 8:44 PM
I wouldn’t go that far, but I’d agree that he makes Sharpton look a little more reasonable. Shabazz not so much.
Oldnuke on July 20, 2007 at 8:45 PM
That I wholeheartedly agree with! He is definitely self delusional.

Michelle kick butt!! I’ll tell you WHY??? Why the Waukegan illegals don’t want the criminal element sent back to Mexico..The criminal element bogs down police….If you can think like they(illegals) think you can beat them..They want the police chasing them around using all our resources instead of getting some of the 20 million out of here..Same as when they start the fires on the border to distract our agents..

Re: the “John Doe” amendment:
While at work, I have to endure listening to a whole bunch of mind-numbing radio programs that I’m really not at all interested in.
On quite a few of the programs can’t sell advertising, so we’re treated to many Public Service Announcements. One of the regularly occuring spots says, (paraphrasing here) “If you see child abuse or even suspect it, call . . .”
What are we to conclude from this?
I shudder for our nation.

I couldn’t believe it. I saw an ad for Moore’s Sicko during OF! Did the Fairness Doctrine get approved during my nap or is Fox in need of advertisers?
Tuari on July 20, 2007 at 9:11 PM
Oh the best part of the Waukegan terrorist tactic… they demanded all business in the area to hang anti 287G signs in their windows, or the illegals would not buy there.. They say 60% of Waukegan is hispanic..And they were all screaming in the TV reporters faces, that the city council will pay for this at the ballot box..I say if 60% of Waukegan is hispanic, I’ll bet only 10% are legal, and can actually vote so, BRING IT ON.. Better have some excellent forged documents, because they will be checking, come voting time..
Legions on July 20, 2007 at 9:18 PM
Well, look at it this way… FoxNews gets a good bit of money for running the ad with little likelihood of its audience being persuaded to patronize the movie.
Fox makes money, Moore and his comrades lose money. What’s not to love?
LegendHasIt on July 20, 2007 at 9:20 PM
Great show Michelle…except for the “Rev.” Livingston guy…do you not have the authority to shut the filibusters’ off…i’ve seen BOR do that on occasion in order to keep control. The entire point of the segment was wasted on this fool yakking away and no one listening to him or anyone else. The other guest must have the patients of a saint…I was interested in what she had to say.
You can always tell a liberal…they yak away and never really say anything.

Somebody should have flipped that Rev. audio switch to off, what a loon.
The Waukegan Aldermen showed a lot of class this week by voting for principle versus chaos and the opposition to principle showed that they are willing to dodge any law and that there is no level they won’t stoop too, even to the point of allowing the worst to predate with impunity, even at the intolerable cost of sweet little children.
Speakup on July 20, 2007 at 10:56 PM
Just catching the reairring and right off the bat I can see the libs up in arms over Michelle’s use of the word “stewardess” (instead of “flight attendant”)… I have to think she did this deliberately, just to piss off the PC police.
RightWinged on July 20, 2007 at 11:03 PM
She needs to have them cut off that loudmouthed Livingston’s mic.
Exactly. She needed to take control of her own show, even if she had to shut that shouting idiot down completely. Getting into a yelling contest just makes you look weak. The host doesn’t have to yell, because she can make the other person be quiet while she talks in a normal voice and makes the points she wants to make…

Wow, that was irritating. I’ve seen OR threaten to turn off the mike when they won’t shut up. I don’t know the show dynamics, but seems to me that MM ought to be able to have the producer shut the sound off.
Wonderful job, Michelle!

Yeah, I dunno if Michelle could have cut the Rainbow Coalition guy’s mic, but it should have been done. He tried his damndest to derail that segment with his filibustering.

A society that isn’t willing to defend itself doesn’t deserve to survive. We are getting very close to that point in my opinion.
When local police working to deport illegal aliens that commit additional crimes is controversial it’s getting close to being game over.
And why didn’t the shut that idiotic reverend’s mic off?
Drew on July 21, 2007 at 12:42 AM
Waukegan has changed a lot since Benny Kubelsky (Jack Benny) was born there.
Jack’s father came to America as a legal immigrant in 1889, fleeing the pogroms Jews faced in Lithuania. According to Jack Benny’s biography, which I have in front of me, Jack’s grandfather saved money for nearly ten years to have enough to send his son Meyer to America.
When Meyer made it to America, he headed to Chicago, where many of his countrymen had started new lives as Americans.
He worked in sweatshops, 12 to 15 hours a day, and every night after work he went to school to learn how to read and write English. Eventually he went into business for himself, and in later years had a haberdashery shop.
Friends, Meyer Kubelsky EARNED his citizenship. He became an American; he did not demand that the United States become Lithuanian or Jewish.
We are not racist for demanding that our laws be respected, for believing that those who have come here illegally do not deserve to remain.
I have an idea which would go a long ways towards “fixing” the problem of illegal immigration:
Fix Mexico. If the corrupt government were tossed, and the people of Mexico were allowed to create a great nation as our forefathers did here in America, we would have ‘reverse illegal immigration’ as people went back to reclaim their citizenship.
I guess I’m just a dreamer.
Doug on July 21, 2007 at 12:57 AM
Bingo. Doesn’t that show have a producer?
Jaibones on July 21, 2007 at 1:01 AM
Sorry, but Michelle got P8wned by Livingston: The guy may be wrong, but he is a tough street fighter and — like al-Qaeda — he better understands how to use the media than conservatives. Michelle cannot permit herself to be put in that kind of situation again: Either she can cut off an unruly guest’s mike or she cannot do such “interviews.” The other guest only got in like one sentence: Livingston took total control of the interview. It left me very upset and frustrated: He totally derailed Michelle’s valid line of reasoning. Millions of people heard only his side on a putatively “conservative” show. I trust that Michelle has learned her lesson. (I am not saying I could have done any better: Bottom line, pit bulls like Livingston need to be kept on a leash or in a cage: He was permitted to run loose on this segment.)
sanantonian on July 21, 2007 at 1:04 AM
I dunno – it’s great what Michelle’s doing exposing these Islamist/criminal sympathizers, but at some point we are going to have to stop playing this little game about their “views” and intentions, even though by doing so we’ll be demonized as new McCarthyites. The first guest here clearly – clearly – is out to facilitate Islamist mass murder. By what civilized standards can we treat her work then as “freedom of speech”? The second guest here clearly – clearly – is out to undermine the rule of law. By what civilized standards can we treat his words then as merely “an opposing viewpoint”?
Political correctness has taken us to this god-forsaken place where subversion and support for murderers must be treated with respect and 1st Amendment “protection”. I have long said that this is the Bush administration’s biggest mistake: allowing treason to go unprosecuted. When clearly illegal “speech” or actions are given the sanction of legality, the arguments and the battles are already lost. We are afraid to name what is before our eyes.
Halley on July 21, 2007 at 2:13 AM
LOL “lawsuits with no basis get thrown out.” Like that 54 million dollar dry cleaner suit? Like Scooter Libby’s show trial? HA! This woman is clearly not from America.
If it were me I would have asked “is that an acidic Jew behind you?”
And Livingston didn’t win anything except for the “most amount of words for nothing said” award.

I actually had to turn the volume down. The Reverand Windbag was really grating my cheese.

Hey Michelle! Great job!
Doesn’t Bill have a mute button under his desk somewhere for loudmouth blowhard guests who won’t let anyone else talk?
Joshua P. Allem on July 21, 2007 at 5:42 AM
Hijacking the debate is a common tactic of liberals. This what they do on college campuses to conservative speakers. This is what they try to do during President Bush’s state of the union speech.
Fox should have pulled the plug and video on Livingstone. Michelle then should have announced that “because Livingstone was not allowing her other guest to speak, his mic and video feed has been cut off.”
That’s what they do on talk radio when one of these assclowns tries to shout down the host and hijack the program. That what this blog does when people try to hijack a thread.
I once saw Ted Koppel do this on an broadcast of Nightline during the 80’s to a rabid follower (a woman) of some cult leader who would not allow a critic to speak.

I’m glad I didn’t waste any time seeing that live. These “debates” with Gerald or anyone with a “rev” in front of his name are completely predictable at this point. If you need a black guest to provide any input, and his name isn’t Thomas Sowell, this is about all you’re going to get. “The street! Victims! bla bla bla”. They have an on-off switch and that’s that. Michelle is great, we all agree, but that was BS. From now on, the filibustering gets the hook…

Great job Michelle, very professional.
My (military) training in behavior recognition would identify the Rev. as a danger to himself and others. His behavior is why he and his ilk are not provided any respect, because they demand, vice deserve others respect.
Unfortunately, I sense he is interviewing to replace Jessie Jerk(Jack)son, and Al Sharptongue(ton)- no slip of the tongue.
Like Jerkson and Sharptongue, they must remove the title Rev. because they do not act like a persons of the cloth. I suspect they earned their title from the “Ministry of Matchbook Mail-Ins”.

Mojack420 on July 21, 2007 at 11:03 AM
MM a little weak on the John Doe debate against the Islamic Association mouthpiece. The issue is whether or not they have the right to sue someone bringing attention to the police or authorities.
Do they have a right to sue the authority taking action? I’d say that they do and the court will decide. But if someone just points out – ‘hey that guy looks like a muslim’, and then the authorities arrest or detain the guy on that evidence, they may have a lawsuit against the authorities in front of a jury (I must point out that I’m not a believer in civil rights. If everyone has human rights they don’t need anything else). BUT the person that said ‘hey that guy looks like a muslim’ shouldn’t be sued because they didn’t do anything wrong but possibly make a statement of fact.
People pointing out suspicious things shouldn’t be held accountable for the action that the authorities take. It gets to the point of the ‘thought police’. If you think something bad about someone, they can sue you for thinking someone might be a terrorist – that is absurd.
ThackerAgency on July 21, 2007 at 11:28 AM
I agree that MM should have cut the mic of the pro illegal alien guy. He was out of bounds.
His premise was that MM and anti-illegal alien people were implying that all illegal aliens were criminals (which is technically true). BUT the point the MM was making that the guy switched around was that CRIMINALS who are also ILLEGAL ALIENS should be deported (not merely incarcerated and released).
The guy was for arresting ‘all criminals’. The question for that guy was are you for DEPORTING criminals who also happen to be ILLEGAL aliens for the safety of all people in America (Illegal and legal).
ThackerAgency on July 21, 2007 at 11:44 AM

I’m an armchair QB so my stuff ain’t worth potato chips, but MM started losing yardage the second time the Rev. Gregory Livingstone started his mouth blitz.

Livingston Was Simply Staking Out As Sharpie’s Heir Apparent
Look, no rocket science; Sweet and simple, Livingston was willfully making a pain of himself hogging air time to be more noticed on the line for Sharpton’s highly “activist popular” lucrative throne. The fame! The recognition! The respect! The bucks! The “cookies”! Who wants to stay some street rev in a Chicago backwater when you’ve a chance at the national brass ring by making a blustery media race hustler/huckster of yourself? Livingston wasn’t pushing a sincere agenda. He was simply staking a media toehold for himself as a new race card Joker– exactly as Sharpton did. The way to prevent creating such monsters is for the media NOT to feel obliged to run to them for comments on any race matters (why, I’ll never understand!); there’re lots of fish in the sea!
DON’T have him back, simple as that!

OT, sorta. We’ve seen clearly in TX that the death penalty does indeed work as a deterrent. If I’m not mistaken, it was just enacted as a penalty for serial rapists here.
What effect on illegal immigration would stricter punishments against illegals convicted of a crime have? That is, if you’re here illegally and you comit anothercrime, the sentences are significantly harsher than they would be for citizens.
I can hear the libs screaming already, but I think this could be another tool in putting the chill on illegal immigration.
TexasDan on July 21, 2007 at 1:41 PM
It might be the resemblance between her and my wife , but Michelle makes beauty look presidential and gives me much to look forward to regarding the future of the media. I sure hope she and Ayaan join forces one day. How could that NOT be a recipe for massive success…? I was glad that MM didn’t let Livingston rile(y) her with his inconsiderate attitude and unwillingness to yield, as required during such appearances… Her hair was too nice for that anyway. Her future’s so bright, WE have to wear shades. I’d ask how God packed so much courage, conscience, and class into such a lovely, gracious and lady…, but that might be seen as looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Rugged Individual on July 21, 2007 at 2:21 PM
OMG was that ‘reverend’ one prime A-hole!
Almost the entire segment served only to highlight that fact. I guess on the positive side segments like this do show that the people that shill for tolerating illegal alien criminals (sorry for the tautology) are nothing but prime A-holes.

A letter was published today (6/22/07) in the Northwest Herald, serving Mchenry County in Northern Illinois by Carlos J. Acosta, Executive Director, McHenry County Latino Coalition.
The title is: Reconcilliation Needed and Mr. Acosta goes to great pains to refer to illegal aliens as “illegal” immigrants.
Note the use of Quote Illegal Unquote and the word immigrants, as if we should be welcoming them with open arms.
In this letter, he included a raw threat:
In otherwords, give illegal aliens amnesty or face decades of RETRIBUTION for “perceived” illegal acts against them.
This is the mindset of the open borders/amnesty advocates.
I suggest you follow the link and read the rest of the letter to get the full flavor.
Also, several comments have already been entered.

Waukegan is one of many in Illinois. Palatine and Rowling Meadows are just as bad.
Livingston is just another left wing tool. He flaps his jaw and won’t let others speak. Yep, that’s the M.O. They could care less about what you have to say. Their tinfoil hat shields them from the truth.

Wow, talk about the epitome of the bleeding heart liberal who is so rude that he would not let anyone else speak. I hope he doesn’t claim to be a Christian as you will know them by their love . . . his acting like a lawn mower over everyone else’s opinion certainly did not indicate love. What a pompous, arrogant person who can’t see the results of his left-wing “giveawayitis” and what it will do and has done to the American Dream. Buy most of all I am embarrassed that he is representing the Christian faith.

Michelle is doing a better job of shutting down the guests who filibuster, but the rude fat man needed to be shut off to allow others to talk. He is a racist and off subject with his loud obnoxious blather.
