Video: Keith Ellison on the 9/11 “Reichstag fire”
posted at 5:43 pm on July 16, 2007 by Allahpundit
We had this a week ago but for some reason it’s (re-)breaking today, so fine. At the very least, it’s worth watching for the spectacle of a CAIR crony lecturing non-Muslims on the definition of authoritarianism and dictatorship. The clip cuts out right before his ipse dixit that “I’m not saying [Sept. 11] was a [U.S.] plan, or anything like that because, you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-ball box — dismiss you,” even though he clearly is suggesting that very thing. The Reichstag fire is a favorite Truther analogy and is recognized instantly here by most of the audience, as you’ll see; mentioning it and then disavowing its connotations is sort of like asserting that the Pentagon was hit by a missile but that it might have been Al Qaeda who fired it. That’s transparent CYA aimed squarely — and unsuccessfully — at avoiding “the nut-ball box.” Read Hassan Butt; he’d recognize this “logic” instantly.
He made sure to tell someone from the Strib last week that he thinks Osama’s responsible for 9/11 so this is already on its way down the memory hole. Whew.

I wonder if Ellison knows that the foreword of that Koran that he used to swear in called Mohammed a “monster”?
TunaTalon on July 16, 2007 at 5:55 PM
Keith Ellison is in my state, but anytime I talk about him I’m a right wing jerk, a Zionist, and a Conservative..to which I plead guilty to the last.. His district is inclusive of the University of Minnesota and its environs…. does that surprise you?

MNDavenotPC … sounds like that magical wahibbi dust has been sprinkled over the folks there.

USA, all the way!

1) I don’t see how Bush “benefitted” from 911
2) Which political parties were outlawed after 911
3) Give me the names of the political leaders who were arrested (it doesn’t have to be 4000, five is enough).
4) If you think Mohammad Atta is a political leader remember that Psychiatrist starts with that pesky “p” when you get out your yellow pages to seek help.
5) What is a good Moslem like Ellison doing talking to people the Koran considers only slightly better than the Jews?

Robert Spencer’s latest is on this subject: The Muslim Congressman and the Constitution. Definately worth reading, and monumentally maddening.

Just proves that polticians are fake whores who will sell their souls to whatever audience they are in front of.
SouthernGent on July 16, 2007 at 6:08 PM
I just love hearing him talk about how religions are being persecuted when he’s sitting there as the first elected Muslim.
Esthier on July 16, 2007 at 6:08 PM
Contunue to read Robert Spencer’s work on Sura 2 in this blog…Ellison is very afraid of anyone who knows the Quran as I am learning.

A fine example of the synergy of 9/11 Denial and taqiya. (What does either have to do with Atheism, incidentally?)

You can contact Ellison here. The link on his official House page didn’t work, so I had to fix the URL. This one works.

I just left a message on his voicemail in DC and requested him to denounce all Islamic violence throughout the world in general….. and the philosophy of dhimminitude and taxation of Jews and Christians in particular….. any bets on the response?
MNDavenotPC on July 16, 2007 at 6:35 PM
And of course the fact that Keith Ellison has not been imprisoned or tortured or berated (or even asked a tough question by the media) for saying this is proof that Mr. Keith Ellison is a bold faced liar.
But then lying is permissible in the religion of death isn’t it?
CrazyFool on July 16, 2007 at 6:36 PM
Congress has now achieved a new low. This vile piece of garbage is an affront to everything the Constitution stands for and a blight upon the right to vote. I can hardly wait to hear his BS when we endure another terrorist attack.
Hopefully, it will be in his district.

Atheists for Human Rights Presents {Muslim} Congressman Kieth Ellison.
That alone is so twisted in logic that the shrinks were lined up outside ready with business cards.
I mean isn’t that just a mouth full of marbles trying to spit out oxymoron’s and polar opposites?
All that’s missing is the bi-polar whitewater rafting and artificial CPR club.

A crackpot can always find an audience. The left wing atheists are the perfect stooges for this sort of thing.
And atheists laugh at Christians for believing what they believe in.

Keith, you ignorant slut.
Two things
One- who created the 9/11 tragedies? Muslims.
Two- What governments are the most backward totalitarian in the world? Islam.
I rest my case. Case closed.

Really? I would like to read more about that. I know Jefferson was studying his enemy at the time by having that book. Got any links to that foreward?
CrimsonFisted on July 16, 2007 at 6:59 PM
Shortly after this address Mr. Ellison was removed from congress, sent to Gitmo, tortured to give up the name of his accomplices in bringing down America, made to give a public confession of guilt (which he gave ‘of his free will’ with bruises still visible) along with the name of said accomplices and then was ‘rehabilitated’ (gulag, death or an actual insane asylum, whichever Bush felt like) for the betterment of society.
That is……if Bush WAS a dictator.
Defector01 on July 16, 2007 at 7:14 PM
The very fact that this animal holds a seat in the U.S. Congress is, in itself puke inducing. The popular vote should be challenged and challenged again. Each and every name on any petition should be checked and re-checked. This man belongs in congress as much as my dog does!
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on July 16, 2007 at 7:22 PM
I am so sick and tired of people blaming the invasion of Iraq on 9/11. Has everyone forgoten what Hussien was doing? He was violating many of the rules set upon him after the first gulf war. Not only that what about his crimes against humanity? Why in the world don’t these people applaud that he is gone? All we hear is “this is an illegal war, we had no right to invade…”. Well pardon me but, we had every right. Do you think that if Japan had started to violate the treaty after WWII we would have just sat on our thumbs? I don’t think so! Besides, even the Clinton administration, when they were in power, thought something needed to be done about the situation in Iraq.
Oh wait…that’s right, it’s politics. The truth does not matter.

The story got renewed due to the Telegraph going with the ” Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress title” Then Drudge picked it up.

CrimsonFisted,
It will take some digging to recover my research from last January about the Koran Ellison swore in on.
Please check this thread tomorrow. It should have been a big story.

So typical. If you can’t intellectually make your point, pull out the Hitler card.

I don’t care if Keith Ellison is Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Scientologist, member of the 1st Church of The Holy Frisbee (where they believe that when you die, your soul goes up on top of the roof and you can’t get down), whatever. After seeing him make the jackass comments he made here, on top of his other antics ever since he was sworn into the Senate while placing his hand on a copy of the friggin’ Koran, the man’s photograph belongs in the latest edition of Webster’s Dictionary, right smack dab next to the definition of the word “jerk”!
pilamaye on July 16, 2007 at 7:52 PM
What the hell is the matter with Republicans? Where is the outrage about these comments and ones from Durbin, comparing Bush to Hitler? Every Republican should be screaming in every interview about these haters and the way they are making light of the holocaust. No one, who has actually studied history can make any comparison between the two men. It’s a disgusting display of hate, pure and simple.

I can’t believe he’s totally getting a pass on this. Basically what he says there is that the ONLY reason he doesn’t assert that 9/11 was a “U.S. plan”, is because he doesn’t want to be “dismissed” and put in a “nut-ball box”, but that he does believe the conspiracy theory… am I reading it wrong? So in reality he should have said:
Ass.
I expect nothing less from the first Muslim elected to congress.

I may have found what you’re looking for:
SALE’S PREFACE TO THE PRELIMINARY DISCOURSE AND TRANSLATION
SALE’S PREFACE TO THE PRELIMINARY DISCOURSE AND TRANSLATION.
“I IMAGINE it almost needless either to make an apology for publishing the following translation, or to go about to prove it a work of use as well as curiosity. They must have a mean opinion of the Christian religion, or be but grounded therein, who can apprehend any danger from manifest a forgery: and if the religious and civil institutions of foreign nations are worth our knowledge, those of Muhammad, the lawgiver of the Arabians, and founder of an empire which in less than a century spread itself over a greater part of the world than the Romans were ever masters of, must needs be so; whether we consider their extensive obtaining, or our frequent intercourse with those who are governed thereby. I shall not here inquire into the reasons why the law of Muhammad has met with so unexampled a reception in the world (for they are greatly deceived who imagine it to have been propagated by the sword alone), or by what means it came to be embraced by nations which never felt the force of the Muhammadan arms, and even by those which stripped the Arabians of their conquests, and put an end to the sovereignty and very being of their Khalifahs; yet it seems as if there was something more than what is vulgarly imagined in a religion which has made so surprising a progress. But whatever use an impartial version of the Qura’n may be of in other respects, it is absolutely necessary to undeceive those who, from the ignorant or unfair translations which have appeared, have entertained too favourable an opinion of the original, and also to enable us effectually to expose the imposture; none of those who have hitherto undertaken that province, not excepting Dr. Prideaux himself, having succeeded to the satisfaction of the judicious, for want of being complete masters of the controversy. The writers of the Romish communion, in particular; are so far from having done any service in their refutations of Muhammadanism, that by endeavouring to defend their idolatry and other superstitions, they have rather contributed to the increase of that aversion which the Muhammadans in general have to the Christian religion, and given them great advantages in the dispute. The Protestants alone are able to attack the Qur’an with success; and for them, I trust, Providence has reserved the glory of its overthrow.”

What else would you expect from one who is devoted to Islamic doctrine? When will the majority of Americans learn that deceit and treachery are condoned by the Muslim when dealing with the “Infidel”? How long will it take for most Americans to see the true face of Islam?

Didn’t I read somewhere in the blogosphere that the guy is a Nation of Islam muslim, that of the Louis Farrakhan variety? I imagine he’d do a cut and run if faced with a determined jihadi.

Connie, That’s the right version but not the quote i had in mind.
CrimsonFisted
Here is the link mentioned in a prior post.
When Akbar(AKA Ellison) took the oath of office on Thomas Jefferson’s Koran he had his hand on a George Sale translation of the book.
In 1734, George Sale published a fairly accurate translation of the Qur’an titled The Koran, commonly called the Alcoran of Mohammed…. However, he appended to this translation, a highly vituperative essay titled A Life of Mohammed. In this essay he wrote ” when the character of Mohammed is attentively surveyed—-it is so shocking that it is a wonder that the country of his nativity has not been buried in oblivion. Any country would have blushed to produce such a monster.”
Jefferson the Ambassador to France wanted to stop paying ransom to Muslims, he lost the argument.
Jefferson the Vice President wanted to go to war with the Muslims to stop the deaths and enslavement of Americans but lost the argument.
Jefferson the President sent the U. S. Marines to the shores of Tripoli and ended the Ottoman Empire’s practice of demanding tribute from the U. S.
Maybe the public has forgotten but every Marine remembers.

sabbott I live in Eagan and I’m embarrassed. I’m glad that people have been cracking the history books finally. Islamic culture will always be anathema to our culture and values. Too bad the people of Minnesota never studied Jefferson except to spread lies about his fathering of children but thats another issue of revisionist history…
