Video: Silky’s campaign HQ becoming nuisance to neighbors
posted at 9:56 am on July 13, 2007 by Allahpundit
Five different people have sent this to me but I’m not sure what you want me to do with it. They occasionally get mysterious packages, the bomb squad has to be called, and the security cordon forces nearby businesses to close. It’s a shame but it could have happened to any candidate. Especially a candidate who’s so desperately concerned about Americans’ economic hardships that he doesn’t have time to move his campaign’s mail center off site so that these scares don’t put his neighbors in the poorhouse.
How about sending out one of those fundraising e-mails he’s famous for and handing the proceeds to the businesses that had to shut down? “By donating now, you’re striking a blow against the evil conservative who threatened me with that package. Or who would have threatened me with that package had anything dangerous been found in it.” Etc.

I think you should restrict your blogposts to 1st tier candidates. :)

The Breck Girl can’t keep making the “Two Americas” argument without first proving it to be true. Nothing new under the sun.

Ah, how ’bout what you did with it… Was that an entrance versus an exit question?
No iPhone for AP yet I guess.

Those complaining Business Owners are obviously just more of those selfish Haves trying to squelch the success of the only candidate willing to fight for The Little People.

THERE IS NO TERRORIST THREAT!!!
He’s playing on our fears.
We need to understand why they hate him.
He needs to pull his office out of that neighborhood NOW.

Things I’d like to hear about today:
The John Doe Protection issue.
Border Enforcement.
Fairness Doctrine (which desperately needs rebranding because drive-by readers will think we’re against something good).
Silky Pony? nope.

I think Edwards should start a Fundraising campaign about this issue.

Why does John Edwards hate black people? Or at least the black person pictured from the Town Hall Grill. He is black, right?

Guess it sucks to be a distant third for your party’s nomination…I wonder if his supporter’s are as obnoxious as Mitt$?

I hadn’t heard anyone mention the OBVIOUS solution in the news coverage.
I think Edwards was hoping to be the #2 candidate before Obama started sucking all the oxygen out. Now he’s pulling these publicity stunts to get attention. I suspect it’s starting to piss off the big H.
Did you see the clip where the mike caught Edwards begging Hillary to kick the “2nd-tier” candidates out of the debates? She said her staff was “working on it.” Yeah, right.
Hillary wants as many fruitcakes as possible (including Edwards) on the stage to make herself look like the least crazy Democrat – to bolster her “moderate” image.

Be thankful there isn’t a barber shop next door.

Good call. He is probably begging Coulter to diss him. This is the extent of his marketing and promotion.
right2bright on July 13, 2007 at 10:49 AM
It was just a couple of cases of hairspray for cryin’ out loud. Aerosol cans hardly a bomb do make. Don’t you know it’s all just a ploy by Rove to derail the Silky Express?

Curious. At the end of the story, the news guy said the FBI doesn’t know who sent the package.
Earlier, the story said it was a couple of watches and literature. Is sending a watch thru the mail illegal?

I wonder why Silky Pony can’t move his HQ to his 100 acre plantation, just south of Chapel Hill. With over 27,000 sq.ft. of space, should be plenty of room. Just rent a few tailors and but on the back 40 for the staff and Silky Pony will be good to go.

Watch it turn out to be that the package was from Revlon sending a few free samples of hair spray.
Least we forget:

Is that Julie Andrews singing?

I was 1 of the 5…yay! Edwards is a loser in every way possible. If he really cared about the little guy, he’d have moved at least the mail room. It would not surprise me in the slightest if he or Lizzy were sending themselves the packages just for the headlines! They really are that trashy!

Gift Bags from Breck, I think.

I’d sue the landlord. Obviously, a campaign office is going to be disruptive compared to other tenants. Lots of people coming and going, working all hours, and presumably Secret Service protection should Edwards be there.

Is it just me, or is that Ken Smith reporter guy sending secret messages to Pelosi with his rapid eye-blinking?
StaticElectricityMan on July 13, 2007 at 3:39 PM
Supposedly the packages were beeping. I bet it was actually the forklift carrying Edward’s weekly supply grooming products that was beeping as it backed into the room.
