Who are these 4%?
Editor on July 13, 2007 at 10:19 PM
Nancy and Harry…are you listening? 70% of the folks out here think you suck.

Canerican on July 13, 2007 at 10:25 PM
Those are the fine folk who are preparing to say that General Petraeus has no credibility if he gives a positive report next September. That 4% who strongly approve of Congress must be family and friends. When they take the position that Petraeus is lying and dingy Harry is credible, the friends will fall off and only their families will still strongly support them. Well at least their mothers.
TunaTalon on July 13, 2007 at 10:26 PM
Yeah,Pilgrim, but so long as Kos still likes them they’re cool with that.
bbz123 on July 13, 2007 at 10:29 PM
Congress Critters, Congressional staff, lobbyists, earmark-ees, trial lawyers and DC area real estate agents (congress churns lots of business)…you get the general idea.
eeyore on July 13, 2007 at 10:31 PM
No idea, but we do know one thing. They ALL work for the government and voted Dhemocrat.
Mojave Mark on July 13, 2007 at 10:39 PM
Family and staff. Still projected a Dem victory next year?
Spirit of 1776 on July 13, 2007 at 10:40 PM
Wow, that’s pretty damning.
Bad Candy on July 13, 2007 at 10:40 PM
For six rugged years A few WOT Democrats, many middle of the road Republicans and every hard core Conservative have stood up and deflected the slings and arrows intended for George Walker Bush and one by one, 170 million, starting with the least stoic and then methodically, earnestly he continued until even the most staunch Conservative left with a knife in their back and a broken heart.
The worse part is after all this he still leaves the blade he placed so ardently and yet he still supports the invasion of America and refuses to retract, apologize and accept that we are not bigots and fulfill his sworn obligation to defend and preserve, us, from threats not just foreign but domestic.
Speakup on July 13, 2007 at 10:43 PM
Fans of gridlock.
Pablo on July 13, 2007 at 10:44 PM
All this says is that the normal 2.5 kid household does not have time or the strength to really notice what is going on and that the MSM is doing a hell of a job with their misinformation campaign. Plus it is only 1004 ppl, from God knows where, out of 300 million ( well, we could reduce that to somewhere in the ballpark of 200 million adults). That is infinitesimal.
You’re doing a GREAT job ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN!
lsutiger on July 13, 2007 at 10:47 PM
Allah, did you see this poll from the AP?
amerpundit on July 13, 2007 at 10:54 PM
I dunno maybe Rosie, Olberdummy, The Daily Kos, Al Sharpton, Commiecrats, Kaiser Solze, The Usual Suspects
William Amos on July 13, 2007 at 10:58 PM

Well, lets put it this way…..the fred? groupies are the other side of that coin.
csdeven on July 13, 2007 at 11:47 PM
Now csd, even I find that offensive.
Buzzy on July 13, 2007 at 11:58 PM
A saying that my dad uses and I’m compelled to repeat, said in context of the coming Democratic Congressional loss:
“Radical change seldom lasts.”

wine glassdrink cup!RushBaby on July 14, 2007 at 12:45 AM
Dude, you’re like a recurring character in a bad sitcom. You’re just going to have to accept that your Flip Romney is going to lose the primaries. Free your inner Fred.
Mojave Mark on July 14, 2007 at 12:59 AM
LOL, csdeven is a one-trick pony.
speed911 on July 14, 2007 at 1:00 AM
Fixed that for ya, speedygirl.
infidel4life on July 14, 2007 at 1:10 AM
Much appreciated. Thank you :-)
speed911 on July 14, 2007 at 1:14 AM
Nah, the folks up here won’t “strongly approve” until communism is fully implemented, religion is outlawed, both population control and bending over for terrorists are enforced at the end of UN guns, and we’re all riding bikes… naked. The 4% are likely just like those “bad kids” in school who deliberately give the opposite of logical answer to every question because they’re so edgy.
RightWinged on July 14, 2007 at 1:54 AM
Yeah? Why? Are you a fred? groupie?
csdeven on July 14, 2007 at 2:09 AM
The real majority of Americans.

Is it getting to the point where all you can do is bash Fred, no matter what the topic?? You used to have good and sometimes insightfull commentary on topics other than Fred.
What happened to that person?
mrfixit on July 14, 2007 at 4:40 AM
4 % the wicked sarcastic ones among us
EricPWJohnson on July 14, 2007 at 6:06 AM
4% Criminally insane and Hollywood elite.
sabbott on July 14, 2007 at 6:37 AM
The 4%? I’m betting hobos hiding from ace.
bbz123 on July 14, 2007 at 7:30 AM
The 4% are clearly Fred groupies because now their buddy Fred? can write a rehashed essay about how much congress sucks and when he’s president[snort], he’ll ask God to change the the script of actors in congress so they’ll be easier to work with.
Bad news for the country is good news for a new Fred? essay. Vote for a somewhat charismatic TV lawyer and essayist with no executive experience (or outstanding anything) and a tendency to postpone important announcements, Fred? Thompson/Fred? Thompson ‘08! Fred? Thompson, a man so mighty he can be President AND Vice President at the same time!

Go to your room and watch F-Troop
Kowboy on July 14, 2007 at 8:14 AM
Yeah, well you can expect to see left-leaning news outlets like CNN and MSNBC start harping on Congress’s ratings like they harp about Bush’s ratings on the next crisp snowy cold day in Hell. I mean, you hear the expression “Impeach Congress!” lately? Didn’t think so.
pilamaye on July 14, 2007 at 8:37 AM
Well, that probably was over the top. My bad.
csdeven on July 14, 2007 at 8:44 AM
Only 4%, but watch how many incumbents win. Term limits I say…
JWS on July 14, 2007 at 9:23 AM
The best way to ensure a Republican sweep in 2008 is for Pres. Bush and VP Cheney to both resign simultaneously, install Nancy Pelosi as President. It would become evident so quickly what a total disaster the radical left-wing Dems are that the nation would race to the right. Although, she could do a lot of damage in 18 months. Just look at the damage she has caused in 6 months.
bopbottle on July 14, 2007 at 9:37 AM
Great! Thanks! I just threw up a little in my mouth.
csdeven on July 14, 2007 at 9:38 AM
For once we totally agree on something. lol
Kowboy on July 14, 2007 at 10:07 AM
Awesome! And you know what? We can even disagree without insulting one another.

Sven on July 14, 2007 at 11:10 AM
Doing great! My soldier is home for a few days and he deploys to Iraq mid September.
My sailor is in the gulf now, serving as a Damage control man on board a destroyer.
Thanks for asking and I appreciate your support.

Glad to hear they are doing good.
Thank them for thier service for me.

I find it amusing that Congress is getting more positive press, IMHO, than Bush, and he’s beating them in approval numbers. Granted, both have two feet firmly planted in the hole, but it looks like Bush is standing on Boxer’s head.

“My sailor is in the gulf now…”
Mine also. He is aboard a carrier, rashed out from finger tip to elbow from jet fuel and cleaning solvents. He will tough it out though.
Greetings from my family to yours.

I hope he’s wearing golf shoes or baseball cleats.
Tennessee Dave on July 14, 2007 at 12:17 PM

csdeven on July 14, 2007 at 12:23 PM
I believe that 4% are Kool Aid(Jamestown fashion) fans who also wish to sue for anything that Edwards will be their attorney. I could be wrong nah not possible
MNDavenotPC on July 14, 2007 at 4:21 PM
So its that bad? I have intentionally stayed out of Vermont in the past few years. I looked at some Vermont GOP pages (one was good one looked like Drudge, but cheaper, and not intentional) and couldn’t see much. Why has Vermont Gone that way? If I remember right Carter didn’t even take Vermont and now it is insanely liberal.
Is this Liberalism exaggerated? Is it more liberal than Alabama is Conservative?
Canerican on July 14, 2007 at 7:55 PM
The 4% are probably people who don’t really pay any attention. All they know is that democrats are in charge so things must be going well.
boomer on July 14, 2007 at 10:35 PM
Wow 70% of those polled were registered voters.
Kermit on July 15, 2007 at 4:17 PM
Consider yourself lucky. The EMT doing CPR on me after my reading of bopbottle’s post caught a glance at the comment on the monitor and threw up a little in…I’m sorry, I thought I could speak about it, but the double trauma is still too fresh.
soundingboard on July 16, 2007 at 4:04 AM
Thus ends your authority to comment on threadjacking, and you must pay EVERYBODY $100.
I don’t want to know who the 4% are, there are easily that many folk in any thousand who are insane, completely stupid, or just want to mess with a survey, without accounting for congressional staff/family, each of whom may also fall into one of those categories. I want to know about the 24% who fall in the areas of Mixed Feelings to Somewhat Approve.
Think about it, even Peacemother Sheehan hates congress now, who’s left to approve of their general failure to uphold their oaths? Are there that many liability lawyers in this nation?
