From today&#8217;s &#8220;Big Story,&#8221; it&#8217;s the same old shinola but it&#8217;s fun to watch him spin and, especially, sweat when he&#8217;s pressed on the minor fact that Carranza wouldn&#8217;t have been here to kill those kids had we simply enforced the law. Gibby puts it squarely to him at the end of the clip and his reaction quite literally is to sigh. The one new bit is at the beginning where he fleshes out his proposal to make immigration status a factor in bail hearings for Class A felonies on the theory that illegals charged with serious crimes are more likely to skip bail if they&#8217;re released. Which actually makes no sense: someone facing a serious felony charge like a Class A isn&#8217;t going to worry about being deported, he&#8217;s going to worry about lethal injection or life in prison. He&#8217;s the same flight risk as a citizen charged with the same crime, which is why bail is so hard to come by in those cases in the first place. It&#8217;s the lesser offenses where illegal status might matter. An illegal looking at a year for a DUI is a greater risk to jump bail than a citizen in the same circumstance because what he&#8217;s really worried about is being deported when he gets out. Geraldo realizes that, I&#8217;m sure, just like I&#8217;m sure he realizes that it&#8217;s the DUI&#8217;s who seem to do most of the killing among criminal illegal aliens, but he&#8217;s too much of an amnesty shill to take the sensible position on this. He doesn&#8217;t want people deported if they commit anything less than a Class A felony. Simple as that. [...]</description>

It would be a very pleasant surprise indeed if our elected officials started thinking rationally about our borders and protecting our citizens, but I sure won&#039;t hold my breath. 		<description>I wonder what it would take for the American people to, according to the provision in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, to usurp the powers of the government and establish a new government.

&lt;em&gt;Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;

Sounds to me like the conditions for that provision are approaching. 


Yet, I wonder. I believe, that save for a small rogue group, the vast majority will never rise up against their own government regardless of circumstances. 

That being the case, I believe that no matter how corrupt the system gets, no matter how corrupt the politicians, no matter how criminal the effect of their malfeasance, the American people, like all people throughout the world, will not revolt en masse. The few that will, can be put down by the Army. The days where revolutions were possible and enacted by a few brave men are long gone. The government is so powerful and expansive, no small group of men could make a difference at this point. It would take, at least, several hundred thousand well-placed citizens, ready to risk their lives, to act in concert to form a new government. Many of those would have to be in the upper echelons of the military. 

Not going to happen. Mexamerica is coming with or without amnesty.</description>
