If we had ten of those to choose from, I could actually understand all the nitpicking that’s going on right now.

“He cleared his throat on TV! He’s not talking to Chris Matthews enough! The LA Times said he once met with an abortion supporter! His wife is too hot!”

Even something as insanely idiotic as: “He didn’t announce when a media pundit guessed he might!” could be enough to kick somebody out of contention IF we had a thousand potential candidates out there who were talking about conservatism as a political system, instead of as a handful of unrelated “values” issues.

But we don’t.

Why is it then that atheists say they have no problem’s with God because they claim He does not exist, yet spend months making books entirely devoted to causing others to disbelieve in Him.

You also have the “smug Atheist” archtype, who believe that their nonbelief entitles them to belittle believers. They somehow think that because we believe in a higher power than humanity that we can’t empirically prove exists to the athiest’s satisfaction, we’re more susceptible to crooks and shysters. This coming from the largest group of deluded self-aggrandizers in the world. How do you get an athiest to buy anything you want? Tell him he’s God.

Well, it is wide open for anyone to get out there and start speaking some Reagan! That is all it will take! The Marxists, I mean the Democrats, have had it all to themselves. Somebody somewhere, maybe a Republican page or some 89 year old Republican in the Capital that just answers the phone that can speak and live Reagan, just come out and announce they are running and they could change the world!!

Of course! “Law and Order” is in summer re-runs! Nice bit of pocket change, that. Be a shame to let it go just to announce for a race still 15 months away.

Given that he’s already told Hannity that the decision’s made, and it’s pretty clear that it isn’t “I’m not running”, he’s effectively announced that he’s an unofficial candidate at this point. That status allows NBC to run those episodes and pay him. What would being an official candidate do for him today that it wouldn’t do for him next month?

Fred is doing his best to be a candidate while not being a candidate. Having the rights Olbermann, Hannity, be his press agent.

If he announces in August, come September all of this hot air and supposed frustration will be long forgotten. I support Fred and am not the least bit concerned with it. He is picking and choosing his spots and playing all of us like a fiddle. Allah, Fred’s not your guy, right? If your guy is the one then it doesn’t matter what Fred does. Although I understand your frustration with the effort some candidates have put in and their relative poor results to show for it.

I suppose everyone here is in agreement that the campaigns aren’t long enough. Fred made it clear he was going to do this on his terms and I respect that.

Man, what a bunch of disappointment junkies you all are! Don’t get upset, let the campaign pick the right time for the announcement. There’s no credible debate on whether he’s running or not. He is. He’s appearing at a ton of Republican events, he’s getting his message out, he’s tied with or very near the top of the polls — all without spending any money on advertising.

His interest is not peaking, it’s just getting steam.

There. I’ve said my pep talk piece. Just so you all know, the only investment I have in this campaign is the $100 I sent in, and I am not connected to the campaign in any way, other than I see in Fred a breath of fresh air for this nation, something we have needed since the Reagan revolution. Someone who can make this country proud again of itself.

Just call me Pollyanna. But that’s what I’m hoping for.
