Video: Awesome new advances made in nonlethal awesomeness

posted at 2:12 pm on July 10, 2007 by Allahpundit

It’s all a question of stopping power. If you’re out for a lark and looking for momentary stun capacity, you’ve got the Slate arsenal. If, like the big A, you play for keeps, you’ll want to upgrade to what Popular Mechanics has got cooking. Be sure to watch both clips at the PM link, incidentally (by clicking the image below). There’s nothing you haven’t seen before in the second video but it’s comedy gold.

I don’t mind telling you that the words “Taser-armed robot and what amounts to a Taser landmine” have left me feeling a little frisky.

Why didn’t they use a hot chick to cool off?

americaslaststand on July 10, 2007 at 2:28 PM

Robots? Someone mentioned robots?

Will be be blessed with a robot vid? Are you teasing us Big A?

Kini on July 10, 2007 at 2:28 PM

I personally would pay to see Al Franken tasered.

pilamaye on July 10, 2007 at 2:30 PM

Taser-armed robot

Maybe now the robots will have someone to hump instead of ‘air-humping’ all the time.

I don’t get it. In a time where the enemies of decency and civilization are proliferating and becoming ever more violent and deadly, why is it that our defences continually become less violent and deadly?

In the cold war, generals warned about gaps. Missile gaps, intelligence gaps, megaton gaps. Now it seems there will soon be a killing gap. All the bad guys will be doing all the killing, and all the good guys will be doing none of it.

I’m disappointed that there were no sexually suggestive waterguns.

Robot Snot – I know AP’s gotta have some robot vids for us!

You picked it, I clicked it, now I need a tissue.

Kini on July 10, 2007 at 3:14 PM

Why do taser-bots hate black people?

natesnake on July 10, 2007 at 3:27 PM

Your headline story about faceblindness is interesting. Years ago I read a blog by a guy up in SF who has it and related how various members in his family history had it. It’s a little more than just nor recognizing faces. The inability to pick up visual clues can lead to a simple confrontation becoming lethal. Ignore all the gay stuff (did say he lived in SF, didn’t I?): http://www.choisser.com/faceblind/discov.html

Hey “Big A”…imagine this integrated with the next generation iPhone?

“I’m on the phone!” *Zaaaaappp*

JetBoy on July 10, 2007 at 3:48 PM

Awesomely awesome!

csdeven on July 10, 2007 at 4:20 PM

I laugh at your battery operated girly-man taser play toy. When you play for keeps nothing says *I love you not* like my govt. issue .45 model 1911.

Locked, loaded, licensed to carry for any lawful purposes…even in the Peoples’ Republic of Socialist Massachusetts.

Alden Pyle on July 10, 2007 at 4:59 PM

Not robots, but T-Rads “Taser Remote Area Denial”s are pretty kewl. 4:20 into it

- The Cat

Did I say 4:20? Well if you get hit by this, you’ll be acting stoned enough.

MirCat on July 10, 2007 at 6:08 PM

Tough? yes – But not TASER tough!

Armed and Famous Taser Scene (((— a must see. Jack Osbourne, Wee Man, Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson, Trish Stratus. Trish was, of course, the tuffest.

Homemade stun gun robot Robot! I said Robot!

Homemade flamethrower robot Robot! I said Robot again!

- The Cat

P.S. Another flamebot
