While it is apparently true that this story is going to be difficult if not impossible to verify, it would AT THE WORST fall into the category of "fake but accurate".

Gore was the senior senator from Tennessee during the nearly 5 years I lived in that state, and it was fairly common to hear stories of his elitist snobbery, his regular demeaning of those who faithfully served him. To be sure, the stories out of Little Rock during the same time frame about the shrew who was that state's First Lady were worse, her attitude toward "underlings" far more derisive. And now, they might both be running for President. How delightful.

Anyone else think this is jr's cry for Daddy's attention. I question the timing of this drug binge.

Also, isn't it ironic that his mom is the Matron saint of rock-n-roll lyrical do-goodery and she should really be policing here own family's values. Typical *Do as we say, not as we do* dumocrat.

If there are any members of the HA community that still believe that Algore is an honorable man who, in 2000, was trying to make every vote count in Florida I suggest reading the transcript of Gore v. Bush at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/onpolitics/elections/ussupremecourttext121100.htm and searching for the phrase “disputed ballots”.

While Al Gore was standing in front of TV cameras successfully convincing the American public that he was trying to get a recount in the entire state, his Attorney was arguing before the Supreme Court for a recount of only carefully selected ballots in heavily Democratic precincts.

BOIES: “And what is contested are simply those ballots that during the protest phase have been identified as disputed ballots, so that the protest phase solves 99 percent of the election or more.”

Bush won in the Supreme Court where facts count and Gore won in public opinion where style counts. The country is still suffering from the consequences of the results of that public debate and the ongoing drumbeat that “Bush lies”.

Yup, you called it. My parents would have been ecstatic and proud beyond belief if I had landed a job as a secret service agent. I guess Al wants his son to be a rock star putting out huge carbon emissions while he preaches to us about climate change. His son already looks and acts the part, just needs a modicum of music talent now

According to the book, "Unlimited Access; An FBI Agent Inside The Clinton White House" by Gary Aldrich, early in the "Clinton Camelot", Chelsea Clinton, while talking to a girlfriend, referred to the Secret Service agents of her protective detail as "paid, professional pigs". When a senior agent took her aside, pointed out that the agents were there to protect her (with their lives if necessary), and that her "cute remark" was both inappropriate and rude, she simply gave him that trademark Clinton smile and said, "But that's what my parents call you."

It seems to me that AlGore From The Planet Eco MK II is a "chip off the old block(head)"- if the blockhead happens to be named Bill.

Stupid consistence, or consistent stupidity?

You tell me.

cheers

Where the detective is wrong is that AlGore would never wish his son to be like the men standing outside the door even though his son is a failed dope fiend. The elites would rather have their children be failures than common.

We saw exactly the same sentiment from Kerry with his "study hard or end up in Iraq" statement.

I actually heard some loon from Hype Park Illinois on the radio last night make the statement that if Algore had just embraced the support of Billy Bubba Bob Clinton back in 1999, we would be celebrating his second term in office right now, and it would be the good old days like it was back in the 1990's, because EVERYONE knows how great a President Billy Bubba Bob was!

I honestly wonder sometimes exactly what planet people like this goof from Hype Park think they are on.

Algore’s sentiment is largely what’s wrong with the culture today.

We cherish people that add nothing to society like, Actors, Musicians, Minstrels, Lawyers, media figures, etc.

When we should celebrate the noble professions: Butchers, Baker, Carpenters, Farmers, Tailors , Tinkers, Teachers, Firemen and Police.

The latter are necessary the former are not.

Let me guess, it was a botched joke? He didn't really mean to insult the secret service, he really was talking about George Bush. Come on, back him up Senator Kerry, you know how it is when the fear and smear GOP misrepresents (translation: quotes you exactly) your comments.

The detective recalls the agent saying that he was outside a room where Gore was loudly berating Al 3rd for something to do with school. The agent then overheard the senior Gore say to his son something truly stunning.

"What, do you want to end up like those guys standing outside the door?"

The guys being the agent and his partners, highly trained and intensely dedicated individuals who remain ever-ready to take a bullet for whomever they are assigned to protect.

You would think that such selfless and motivated people would be perfect role models for a teenager having a little trouble staying on track.

You have to wonder if the son might have turned out differently if the father had asked the agent to take his boy under his wing.

"Now [the senior Gore] is probably wishing his son did end up like those guys outside his door," the detective said yesterday.

Can you say attachment disorder?

From the article:

"With a movie and a book, Gore has made himself the Big Guy on this issue. He was on 'Larry King' last year, talking about the climate crisis, making complete sense and reminding you what his arrogance cost everybody when he lost that election."

You know, not that I'm surprised, but anyone else notice how the piece still managed to crown Gore a saint by the end?

If I'd been the agent overhearing Gore say that, I'd have walked in, and politely told him that he could find some other "loser" to protect him.

What an unspeakable arrogant *expletive*.

For all of Gore’s later fascination with science and technology, he often struggled academically <strike>in those subjects</strike> with the truth.

Well, now we know who taught John Kerry how to tell a joke.

Just think, if Gore had been elected President, he would be following in Clintons footsteps, he would be pardoning a family member. Roger was indicted for tax fraud and sentenced to two years. He was pardoned before he started to serve the two years.

Somehow I think it would be much better than ending up a bloated laughing stock (the father) or a drug addicted ne're-do-well (the son). What a couple of freakin' losers.

Algore's intelligence is a media fabrication. This man is a true mental midget.

From inventing the internet, his hypocritical environmentalism, and not being able to identify a bust of George Washington while touring Monticello, not one of our nation's finest should be placed in harm's way to defend this idiot.

This sort of mockery of the former Vice-President is both cruel and unneccessary. We need to reach out to him because I don't think he has a lot of friends.
I'm totally serial.
