This is the paper that set out to unseat Sen. George Allen. They had to explain to everyone why Macaca was offensive. Do you doubt that they will stop at nothing to get their way politically?

I wonder why the crime rate in Leadville, Colorado, isn't the highest in the nation? Kind of blows his theory all to pieces.

When I moved from Colorado in the last 1990's, there were news articles about the kids in Leadville playing on dirt piles that were full of lead contamination from, left from the silver mining days. Those kids should now be criminal adults, if you believe the lead/criminal theory.

“In Britain and most of Europe, they did not have meaningful constraints [on leaded gasoline] until the mid-1980s and even early 1990s,” he said. “This is the reason you are seeing the crime rate soar in Mexico and Latin America, but [it] has fallen in the United States.”

In the Baltics and Middle East they did not have a meaningful number of cable television outlets until the late 1990s and even early 2000s. This is the reason that cable television viewing is still not universal in Australia and New Guinea but has increased in the United States.

White lead has been used in cosmetics throughout history, as face paint/powder and in eye shadow. Though they've been banned in Western nations for quite some time now.

You'd think history books would have mentioned gangs of middle-class women running about committing crimes and engaging in anti-social behavior.

Chicago’s Robert Taylor Homes, for example, were built over the Dan Ryan Expressway, with 150,000 cars going by each day. Eighteen years after the project opened in 1962, one study found that its residents were 22 times more likely to be murderers than people living elsewhere in Chicago.

Noise pollution drove them crazy!

Um...lower levels of lead = lower crime rates.
Weird.
In Dallas, they've spent the last couple decades, at least, doing away with as much lead in the water system as possible.
Crime rate's never been higher.
But hey, they must have taken out the wrong lead.
I'm just sayin'.

Of course, if lead was a real culprit in criminality, how come crime didn't follow the middle class blacks when they fled the inner cities? Remember the Left's whinging about "Black Flight?"

There's a social sorting going on. If an area becomes crappy, anyone who wants better GETS OUT. The problems stay behind, one reason because they export themselves to subburbia and are in short time, arrested. Better stay in the crapola areas where they get away with more. The stagnant pond becomes more sludgy, but the creatures with half a brain and some legs crawl out and head for better water.

And with guns, too, of course. Shooting ranges and ammunition makers should look for a new round of regulations coming out of this news, as dewey-eyed gun-grabbers wistfully fantasize yet again about a positive correlation between private gun ownership and crime, while statist bureaucrats and slick trial lawyers take them by their hand and say, “I’m there for you.”

Perhaps a new twist, but attacking the gun industry and owner regarding lead is the old approach.

The attempt of OSHA to regulate other aspects is the new attack. If this passes, run to Walmart and buy what you can. http://www.nssf.org/share/PDF/FedReg041307.pdf

I'm led to believe that the WaPo would lead us to the truth that lead would lead Mr. Giuliani to be prevented from leading this country.

However, the WaPo is mostly out of plumb or off plum, and therefore maximus plumbum.

Give me enough money and enough time and I can do a study that somehow links the effect of Chilean llamas' birthrate, couple with Eastern Poland's potato harvest with an increase in ear infections among males born on weekends to mothers with brown eyes.

They chip away and chip away with asinine factoids and 20 year old fallibles hoping something will stick. Gonna be a long 18 months.

Bill Clinton’s mom did massive amounts of tequila shots from leaden shot glasses while she was pregnant with him.
You can see the effects even now.
No sincerely,
The cure for lead poisoning and other heavy metals is chelation therapy w/ EDTA, I.V. and oral. it takes allot of treatment.
Lead poisoning is cumulative and doesn't go away when you change the environment.

For the love of Pete!
