Man are my instincts honed. I’m glad I hated this thing long before it ever came out, and feel justified after seeing that the Times loves it. While others may have the iPhone, it’s just the latest “I’m a hip and edgy liberal, look at me!” device. It’s the same as all those douches he want to preach the glory of Macs at any opportunity. Or wear hemp. Or bash Walmart. Or drive their Volvo. I’m sorry to those that like this thing, but it’s just the latest elitist/college liberal “must have”, and that was obvious from the get go. The NY Times love for it only confirms that for me.

Forget the iPhone! You can't even add software to it! (ghetto!) It would be better to save up for an OQO (video) and team it up with GrandCentral (for visual voicemail) and going with a carrier that actually acknowledges that you are human (Verizon and Sprint) than selling your soul to AT&T (who doesn't treat you very well) via an iPhone. How do you like those apples? (pun not intended)

I’ve been an Apple fan since I wrote my thesis on a Mac 512K back in the 80′s. But…

Good Lord, people, get a grip!

It’s a gadget, nothing more! It means you don’t have to waste space in your briefcase by toting an Ipod and a cellphone. But you still pay far too much for the priviledge.

Apple always takes the first-adopters for a ride. Wait for IPhone 2.0 before you get one. Trust me on this.

Yeah, let's hear 'em sing "I want an IPhone!" after they hear that there is a problem with the unit's battery wearing out too quickly. Even better, the battery is soldiered into the phone itself, so if you want it replaced, you have to send it to Apple, who, to the additional tune of $80, shipping and handling NOT included, will cheerfully replace the battery for you. This ON TOP OF the $500-$600 price tag, not to mention the $1500 you have to shell out for the two-year contract. OK, ALL TOGETHER NOW! "I WANT AN IPHONE!" NOT!

What makes it worse, is that I’m a Legacy AT&T Member. I’ve been a member since cell phones resembled bricks. They made me update my plan, get all new phones, and stand there for hours, before I could add the iPhone to my family plan. So, as of now, I’m out of a phone, because my SIM’s in the new phone, which isn’t here.

I’ve been hearing that Apple.com orders are coming after AT&T, but apparently still earlier than people were told by Apple.

I’ve heard more complaints about AT&T from those who ordered/bought their iPhone from them, instead of Apple. I can imagine Jobs isn’t too happy about this…nothing like having your “new big thing” troubled by the carrier you teamed with.

Yeah, too bad AT&T can’t get its act together. I had told you that I purchased an iPhone on Tuesday, right Allah? Well, I purchased Priority Freight along with it. I was told by the in-store salespeople it would be 2-3 days max, most likely having it by Friday/Saturday.

AT&T has a forum up just for the direct fulfillment. No one can seem to get an answer from a Rep, they get the run-around, some have had their cards charged twice by AT&T, and now more than one rep said they won’t even get another shipment in until Monday. That means my Friday/Monday arrival will be a Wednesday/Thursday of the next week arrival.

I see the big thing now is all these hackers trying to get the iPhone to work with carriers other than AT&T…why, I don’t know…If you want service, you still have to pay for it.
