It's probably the best excuse I've heard.

I’m calling BS on this. Can someone point out the science here? Sounds like so much of the rest of the Darwinian drivel. I’m not saying that there’s no such thing as evolution, just that most of this stuff is pure conjecture, like someone making up stuff about why the sky is blue without knowing the physics behind it.

Snidely Whiplash on July 7, 2007 at 1:58 AM

Amen to that. I'm really tired of all these idiotic, pointy-headed intellectual, Freudian-Darwinists that think that everything under the freakin' sun revolves around sex. I think the mid-life crisis thing has more to do with old men wanting to feel relevant and young as opposed to worrying about their life coming closer to an end.

Sheesh. Irritating...

What about the guys who have mid-life crises’ who are not married and are dating several younger women at the same time…?

4shoes on July 7, 2007 at 9:49 AM

You don't need a crisis for that, just plenty of gym workouts and supplements.

The crisis part comes in when your wife is going through menopause or was a GD hateful b*tch to begin with.

Till death us do part shouldn't include death by verbiage.

My wife 1.0 traded me in for a guy 13 years her junior so SHE had the crisis, not me. I'm 48 and my wife 2.0 is a 40-something gem. We have a new baby and a rare second chance at life. Life is good.

I was single for 8 years in the interim and I was never impressed with the 20-somethings. They look great but lack maturity. You live with a woman's character, NOT her appearance. Anyone who lives in a house with a great view knows that no matter how nice the view is, it NEVER changes.

Men, can they not take any responsibility for their own foolishness? It's the wife fault now that they act like this at 50 and ride around in convertibles sports cars with their combovers flapping in the breeze. lol

What ever happened to the belief that we marry for life, forsaking all others? Good times and bad. In health and sickness. The Islamo-fascists wont have to destroy us. We are well on the way to doing that all by our lonesome because we accept the rationalizing of this behavior in men who were probably vile pigs to begin with.

I just turned 50 last month and still no desire to go out buy a hot car and chase after younger women. Plus the wife would put me in the hurt locker anyways. I have also learned from the advice of my father (whom I greatly miss). He would always say, “Son the grass on the other pair of legs is always greener.” Weird analogy, but works for me, just because a woman looks good does not mean she can hold a candle to the one you are with now. For some guys this theory might work but not for this guy.

4. Most suicide bombers are Muslim

Why? The surprising answer is that Muslim suicide bombing has nothing to do with Islam or the Quran (except for two lines). It has a lot to do with sex, or, in this case, the absence of sex.

The other key ingredient is the promise of 72 virgins waiting in heaven for any martyr in Islam. The prospect of exclusive access to virgins may not be so appealing to anyone who has even one mate on earth, which strict monogamy virtually guarantees. However, the prospect is quite appealing to anyone who faces the bleak reality on earth of being a complete reproductive loser.

Considering that I've been having a "mid-life" crisis since i was 25, i don't buy it. I also don't buy the study that women don't talk more than men. They did the study on college students. I don't think that trait kicks in till after you're married. Just kidding honey, heh.

Waiting for the Feminazi's to whine to see if my theory holds. My theory is that any "scientific" study that proposes the female as equal or better than the male at something, it gets accolades. If the male is shown in the better light, it is derided.

In yesterday's newspapers I rea dof a story that says a scientific study proved men talk the same amount per day as women, albeit about different subjects. Because it disproves the "insult" that women talk too much, it is given a pass.

This particular scientific study will be demonized for #10 alone in 5, 4, 3, ...

The article forgot the most important attribution:

"...researchers said, while standing amid a pile of their belongings outside their front doors wondering why the keys no longer worked in their locks."
