Chutzpah has a name, and it’s Clinton

posted at 10:25 am on July 4, 2007 by Bryan

I usually try to come up with some witty set-up for a story like this, but in this case the best I can do is a lame LOL:

Former President Bill Clinton criticized President Bush on Tuesday for commuting the prison sentence of I. Lewis Libby Jr. and tried to draw a distinction from his own controversial pardons.

Yes, that’s right. The perjurer who sold pardons for fun and profit is criticizing Bush for commuting Libby’s sentence. My friends, that kind of chutzpah ought to be bottled up and sold on the market, so pure and potent is it.

In Iowa to promote the presidential candidacy of his wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Mr. Clinton was asked by a radio host, David Yepsen, “You had some controversial pardons during your presidency; what’s your reaction to what President Bush did?”

“Yeah, but I think the facts were different,” Mr. Clinton said. “I think there are guidelines for what happens when somebody is convicted. You’ve got to understand, this is consistent with their philosophy; they believe that they should be able to do what they want to do, and that the law is a minor obstacle.”

Replace the “theys” with an “I” and you have the truth. We’re looking at a true sociopath here, a man who never let a pesky little thing like the law get in the way of a good time, a man who turned the Oval Office into the next best thing to a brothel, a man whose serial indiscretions earned the official desigination of “bimbo eruptions,” lecture Bush on the single commutation of a sentence that was the result of a highly dubious investigation into a crime that never occurred. And this man might wind up back in the White House.

“It’s wrong to out that C.I.A. agent and wrong to try to cover it up,” Mr. Clinton added. “And no one was ever fired from the White House for doing it.”

Well, that’s because Richard Armitage did it, and he didn’t work in the White House at the time. But it’s a useful lie, so Bill Clinton is the surest man on earth to wield it.

Mr. Clinton pardoned 140 people in the final hours of his presidency, including Marc Rich, the fugitive broker who had been charged with evading tens of millions of dollars in taxes, and who was the former husband of a top donor to Democrats and Mrs. Clinton’s first Senate campaign.

Rather than tread lightly on the Libby commutation, the Clintons have chosen to confront it; Clinton advisers said there was no real alternative, because the news media would bring up the Rich pardon anyway.

They’ve chosen to confront it they way they choose to confront everything–by lying, dissembling, and then going on the offensive.

Just let the record show that Mr. Clinton is a perjurer who had his license to practice before the Supreme Court taken away. Let the record show that he sold pardons to his rich friends. Let the record show that he’s still a brazen liar. And let the record show that it was his pal Sandy Berger who stole sensitive documents from the National Archives, hid them under a trailer, then took them home and destroyed them to cover up something that the Clintonistas didn’t want going public, and remember that Berger’s actions made the 9-11 Commission’s work incomplete, and we’ll never know what he covered up. And let the country remember the missing Rose law firm billing records that mysteriously turned up in the Clintons’ White House residence, and all the rest of that sordid mess that the Clintons drag around with them like a trailer park full of skeletons wherever they go.

Did you really expect him to show any humility or respect for our intelligence? The day he was elected someone asked me why I was so upset. I replied that there was nothing wrong with him, “other than the fact that he’s a liar, a cheat, a thief and a coward.” I have yet to be proven wrong.

David Geffen, one of Hollywood’s most prominet mover and shakers said, “all politicians lie, but the Clinton’s do it with such ease, it’s troubling.” Bush has been a bumbling idiot at times, but I think an inherently a decent man. The Clintons have absolutely no morals or ethics. They seem to lie even when the truth would be easier. The support they get from their followers is mind numbing.

Bryan, you left out what is in my mind the worst of Clinton’s pardons:

On August 11 1999, Clinton commuted the sentences of 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican nationalist group that set off 120 bombs in the United States mostly in New York City and Chicago, convicted for conspiracies to commit robbery, bomb-making, and sedition, as well as for firearms and explosives violations.[2] None of the 16 were convicted of bombings or any crime which injured another person, though they were sentenced with terms ranging from 35 to 105 years in prison for the conviction of conspiracy and sedition.

“I have yet to be proven wrong.”

Nor will you ever be. The “man” makes pond scum look appealing, and his admin made Grant’s look like a model of integrity. What that says about the liberals who have been taken in by his carny act…well, I’ll leave that for a day when we’re NOT supposed to be honoring the good things our country stands for.

Mike H on July 4, 2007 at 11:04 AM

This man is pond scum, and his “wife” is a maggot. I moved to Arkansas in 1988. Something, ny instincts, whatever, told me these two were not to be tolerated. Something about them just made my skin crawl, and the feeling has only intensified. How can so many be so blind as to honor these two with ANY office at all? I couldn’t believe when my local fox news channel GLEEFULLY quoted Hillary saying that the Clinton pardons were different than this one (ie. not wrong) after they put up the total numbers of pardons where Clinton had about 500, Bush had about 13 (I wonder if that includes the turkey every Thanksgiving). This local fox channel is as liberal as they come – it’s for sale. Of course they can’t see the spin for their bias is in the way.

If Hillary wins with all her baggage, this country needs to re-evaluate the election process (not that I see any good alternatives). Where have all the conservatives/leaders gone? I wish we could find a politician who cares about someone other than themselves.

Billy Boy is audacious, but he’s not stupid. He does this because he knows the electorate will buy off on it. Many women will swoon over him, even as those same women scorn the woman who had to put up with his dalliances. Having the Hollywood vote in his pocket ensures his popularity in the media, no matter what he does.

Lincoln would extend a full-size ax with his arm for people he met while campaigning without dropping it, to show the measure of his mettle. Clinton played the saxophone on MTV, and bragged about not inhaling.

It all depends on what you look for in a leader, doesn’t it?

Bill Clinton truly is a textbook sociopath, and I don’t say that lightly. There are a lot of Democrats I disagree with profoundly, from Reid to Carter to Kucinich, but I’ve no suspicion that any of them actually lack consciences. Bill Clinton, on the other hand, is the real deal, in detail.

MB4 on July 4, 2007 at 10:01 PM

“..they believe that they should be able to do what they want to do, and that the law is a minor obstacle.”

Replace the “theys” with an “I” and you have the truth.

I’ve observed that with most Democratics politicians (but especially so with the Clintons and John Edwards), what they accuse Republicans of is is exactly what they themselves are guilty of. The best defense is a good offense, so they go on the offense on a regular basis to proactively defend themselves. If they are first to the punch, then when you try to point out that what they are saying is false about the Republican but true about the Democrat speaking, it ends up looking like you are the grade-school child saying, “I know you are, but what am I?”

Does anyone else see it this way? They are masters of deception. Bill Clinton is only the second impeached President in the history of our country, a proven perjurer, while President Bush is one of the most honest we have ever had, yet somehow the Democrats gain traction with the “Bush Lied” and “Bush acts like he’s above the law” mantra.

I take some small solice in the fact that in the 20th century, only 2 winning Democratic Presidential candidates got a greater percentage of the popular vote than George Bush received in 2004 (FDR and LBJ). Clinton never topped 50%, Carter had 50.1%, Kennedy had 49.3% (When Nixon had 49.6% but graciously conceeded, unlike Gore in 2000).

[Data Source]

Let’s hope that Republicans come out in force in 2008, and that Democrats don’t cheat (or at least get caught and prevented from stealing any elections). I have serious concerns that some 2006 elections may have been stolen with stolen and hacked Diebold smart cards (cards were stolen; hacking wasn’t proven, but why would someone steal the card in the first place?)

ITookTheRedPill on July 4, 2007 at 10:38 PM

It’s all down right hilarious.
The great and tragic comedy that is the past 30 years of American politics.

The Clintons are so easy to hate for perfectly legitimate reasons that it practically comes naturally…. if that even makes sense.

I look at him and I look at Hillary, and I think of that seen in ‘Castaway’ where Hanks puts the ice skate blade to his tooth…..something has to be hurting you pretty hard to drive you to do something like that….That’s how I’ll will feel when I vote for the big H. Let’s get it over with…the poison has got to go.

It just astounds me how the blatant liberal biased MSM gives the Clintoon baffoons a pass on everything…legitimizing every little lie they tell….and then pass this crap along as gospel truth. And believe me, there will be enough morons in this country who will cast a vote for Mrs. Baffoon.

Like the Jihadists (land liberal left) calling us terrorists. Cut from the same cloth, both out to destroy America.
