Video: A short history of the United States, Iranian style

“Short” being a relative term here. As usual with these things, it takes about three times too long to get its point across; Michael Moore did a much snappier job with the same material in “Bowling for Columbine.” Which maybe explains why Ahmadinejad is so hot to meet him — he needs tips on comic timing.
The evil Jew doesn’t make his appearance until about two-thirds of the way through, FYI. Stick with it: the revisionist version of who started the Soviet-Afghan war is worth the wait.
Click the image to watch.
Update: Here’s Moore’s version for comparison. It’s longer than I remembered it but he packed a lot more in there. He’s got more grievances than they do, I guess.

Isn’t this copied from a Micheal Moore movie?

*blink blink*

Hmm A country that declared war on the US in 1979 and the American left have the same talking points. Im shocked! well not really.
elBarto on July 3, 2007 at 9:12 AM
Oh boy. I never saw that Michael Moore clip.
My question is, if he really thinks that way, why hasn’t he offed himself yet?
Nice to know Michael Moore and his liberal following are operating on the same intellectual level as uneducated, ignorant Muslim types. Then again, we all knew that already.

Scoobie-doo. Where are you?
locomotivebreath1901 on July 3, 2007 at 9:15 AM
Nice production values.
Did they do it on an Apple II?

Anyone catch this on the ticker scrolling at the bottom:
By comparison, a history of Iran would be the common people living in abject poverty while shieks and ayatollahs living in splendor. The only change would be that the rich got richer after the discovery of oil.

Where’s the part where America invents the very technology they’re using? Invents the plane? Frees Europe from Hitler’s murderous attempt to takeoever the world? Geez.

Theres a few trohpy heads missing from that wall.

I love the smell of propaganda in the morning!
woodman on July 3, 2007 at 9:30 AM
That was terribly predictable. Two Thumbs down.
amerpundit on July 3, 2007 at 9:32 AM
Whew. So, I wasn’t the only one who was thinking that. Good.
amerpundit on July 3, 2007 at 9:33 AM
hmm, the white hooded figure looked an awful lot like Sen.Bird. wasnt it the dems that refused the blacks to own guns ?
palefaced on July 3, 2007 at 9:33 AM
That’s where the evil Joo comes in. We grow them and they do our bidding. Notice the black uniform, armband and monocle. Colonel Clink-esque for sure…
Swinehound on July 3, 2007 at 9:46 AM
Shouldn’t we riot and burn down the Iranian embassies in the West in response, as crazen Mohammedans did about the Danish Mo Bomber cartoons?
Oh, that’s right, we only laugh at cartoons.
Or not, when they’re not that funny.
As a wiser man than the imams once said:
“Sufferin’ succotash!”

So that’s where Jews come from!
And, apparently, buffaloes oink.
SouthernDem on July 3, 2007 at 10:11 AM
What strikes me the most about Islamic propaganda is the projection. They blamed us for slavery, but who actually received the most slaves from Africa? The muslims!! I could go on and on about who committed what atrocities, what acts of aggression. If Western Civ hadn’t been so economically successful in its teenage years from the 15th to 20th century, the muslims would be clear winners in evil behavior. We just simply had greater technological capability–one result of our superior civilization.
If we can get people to think rationally, we’ll win the propaganda war. Do people think rationally?
thuja on July 3, 2007 at 10:14 AM
The Iranians clearly aren’t a threat, I saw Transformers yesterday, and lets just say their animation is a little behind.
libertytexan on July 3, 2007 at 10:19 AM
thuja-
You have to have a grasp of history for the “rationally” to work.
Otherwise its like putting silly putty in a blender instead of food.
The blender (rationality) may work, but its spinning nonsense.
profitsbeard on July 3, 2007 at 10:21 AM
Sorry, at about hour 5 I just gave up.
Does it have a happy ending?
CatsGodot on July 3, 2007 at 10:31 AM
No doubt this will get Oscar consideration
Grafted on July 3, 2007 at 10:38 AM
Although, one point that may have been missed. Notice where we “freed the slaves?” I don’t remember the US claiming parts of the Arctic. If that’s supposed to be the South…well…can anyone say, “climate change?”
Yep, we’re responsible for that, too, and waaaaaay back then as well. We were ahead of the curve on that one.
CatsGodot on July 3, 2007 at 10:41 AM
I found the Michael Moore cartoon rather offensive (oh dear). When will people open their eyes to the fact that slavery still exists today in other parts of the world, islam allows slavery and they were helping africans export the tribe next door to the US and Caribbean, and so on.
yggdrasil on July 3, 2007 at 10:54 AM
What’s the take-home? Don’t mess with Uncle Sam?
Spirit of 1776 on July 3, 2007 at 10:55 AM
The Michael Moore clip just goes to show that gun control = oppression.

They forgot to show their new glass making specialty in the future scene.
Static on July 3, 2007 at 11:03 AM
It’s absolutely clear that the Iranian animator watched the Michael Moore cartoon and was inspired by it. The slavery/KKK scenes were just too similar to be coincidence.
So thanks, Michael Moore, for once again providing inspiration to our enemies. Will you be giving them more anti-American propaganda tips when you visit Tehran?

I’ve never seen bowling for columbine, and now I’m glad that I never saw it…. such bull, the inaccuracy’s of that drivel were innumerable
j_ehman on July 3, 2007 at 11:49 AM
all looked pretty true to me… except the white house thing
Kaptain Amerika on July 3, 2007 at 12:03 PM
michael moore left out the part where we killed over half a million of our own citizens, brother against brother, father against son, to end slavery. I guess that doesn’t fit with the fat rich spoiled American stereotype though.
Michael Moore is what he hates: a fat, white, rich, spoiled american.
Keli on July 3, 2007 at 12:11 PM
I would assume that Uncle Sam in the Vietnam sequence, and the tank in the Iraq portion, both sinking in the sand is the cartoon equivalent of a “quagmire”?
AZ_Mike on July 3, 2007 at 12:20 PM
“… and they still have the same talking points.”
Indeed!
Lawrence on July 3, 2007 at 12:22 PM
Surprisingly gentle and sweet, I enjoyed it. And as a Jew, I found nothing in it offensive in any way. Yet more evidence that we need promote a variety of diverse national cultures so that we’re not always viewing our own society back through the “mirror” of Western media. I wonder what Marshall Mcluhan would make of this? Anyway, two big thumbs up, this should give Ratatouille a run for its money.

Notice how everyone and everything has the itch. Maybe it’s fleas.
mjkazee on July 3, 2007 at 12:23 PM
But I thought Jews were the decendents of Apes and Pigs? Was it Apes gettin’ it on with Apes that gave birth to the first Jew or was it Apes and Pigs gettin’ it on with eachother? I’m so confused. I had no idea that it was a cowboy wattering the desert that gave birth to the first Jew. That was very informative.

Think maybe the Iranians are worried about that empty plaque over the mantle all ready for mounting another head? Maybe Iran?
Lawrence on July 3, 2007 at 12:36 PM
I found it a truly fascinating precis’…..
Of the commonly-accepted “narrative” of American history as defined by our own “progressive multiculturalist” crowd in academia today.
Was Noam Chomsky or Ward Churchill a consultant?

NOW can we question their patriotism?

If all we did in WWII is drop two bombs, what took us so long? American ineffeciency I guess.
dvldog1142 on July 3, 2007 at 1:37 PM
Kind of ironic how the eeeevil Jew goes offscreen, where there is an explosion.
Anyone seen any Israeli suicide bombers lately? Anyone? Bueller?
MadisonConservative on July 3, 2007 at 2:18 PM
Reminds me of a joke.
A cowboy and Indian and Muslim are sitting at a bar.
The Indian laments “Once we were many. Now we are few.”
The Muslim pipes up and says “Once we were few. Now we are many.”
The Cowboy responds “That’s because we haven’t played cowboys and Muslims, yet.”

I thought it was an eyepatch – like it was supposed to Moshe Dayan. Perhaps an amalgam of the two?
I can laugh at this because it comes from a foreign culture whose leaders are murderously opposed to the US and to the West, and which keeps its ordinary citizens in the dark about their own histories. But the Moore clip has no such excuse – although perhaps much the same aspirations. Really, neither divert significantly way from what is taught in any college history program these days. And over that, I can’t even raise a nervous giggle.

It’s also amusing how the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened only for kicks. I also thought that after shooting at the hammer/sickle (Soviet Union) and not succeeding, they approached the Jihadis, who pulled it off for them. After all, many Afghans believe it was they who brought down the Soviets.

So this is what Schoolhouse Rock looks like in Hell.

This is Iran’s retort to “300″? It’s a petulant limp-wristed whiff.

1930’s Mickey Mouse cartoons were better than this.
Sooooooooooooo how come we are afraid?
