Richard Davis, owner and inventor of Second Chance body armor, used to demonstrate his product to police agencies by shooting himself point-blank in the chest with a .44 magnum handgun. He also would demonstrate being shot in the chest at point blank range with the .308 rifle, while standing on one foot to show that all that crap about a rifle bullet throwing a man backwards is Hollywood crap.

I say we get the “inventor” of this Dragon stuff to stand up in it and let’s shoot at him point blank with a .308 rifle. Okay, how about AK-74 (NOT the old .30 cal. AK-47!)

He could prove this one easily if he’s willing to stand behind it, as it were.

NBC just did another hatchet job on the military on the nightly news. Reporting on the marines shooting innocent civilians. Don’t they know this is war and stuff happens sometimes (if anything DID happen)? These NBC people are really sickening traitors. When will it stop?

By the way, has Hot Air heard anything from NBC about this Vent?

The Army must be on really solid ground for a General to come out and suggest that NBC was engaged in “emotional terrorism.”

Leaving aside the issue of body armor effectiveness under combat conditions to others, what really bothers me about this vent is the way NBC misconstrued the role the “inventor” played in the development. That wasn’t misleading it was a blatant lie in a league with Dan Rather’s faked memos. Our troops deserve better.

If NBC ran this story as being about trying to get the best equipment available for our troops, that’s one thing. But this seems more about trying to make the Army, and the Bush administration, look bad.
