Video: Mary Katharine Ham on Glasgow, Edwards, and the “Coulter conundrum”

If my count is correct, this marks her one thousandth appearance on “Reliable Sources.” Congratulations, MK! Lest there be any doubt that Kurtz digs her, watch him try to impress her towards the end by busting out a list of left-wing news outlets that unfairly distorted Coulter’s quote about terrorists killing Silky Pony. Why, it’s the talking-head equivalent of making her a mix tape.

As for Silky’s shameless Coulter demagoguery as a fundraising ploy: it worked.

Exit question: What’s a good Christian girl doing in a TV studio on Sunday morning? Heh.

I proclaim MK to be ‘halal’.

Exit question: What’s a good Christian girl doing hanging around TV studios on a Sunday morning? Heh.

If you’re doing good works, it’s fair enough. Countering Left viewpoints can fall into the category of good works.

naliaka on July 1, 2007 at 2:30 PM

Also, there are such things as afternoon services.

apostle26 on July 1, 2007 at 2:33 PM

Countering Left viewpoints can fall into the category of good works.

And dealing some of them (Matthews, Edwards, etc.) could even be considered a form of penance.

Proselytizing to the godless liberals.

csdeven on July 1, 2007 at 2:34 PM

Wow, 100 stations throught, what, the entire planet. Yes that might be an audience larger than a captive highschool assemby but, come on.

warpmine on July 1, 2007 at 2:35 PM

And the democrat party/liberals don’t hate, right? Riiiiiiiiiight!!

SouthernGent on July 1, 2007 at 2:37 PM

In fact that is a plank for the party: Separate, create anguish and get them to hate one another. It’s been working that way for 47 years now.

warpmine on July 1, 2007 at 2:40 PM

Exit question: What’s a good Christian girl doing in a TV studio on Sunday morning?

I was about to post a response to that, but then I decided to behave myself instead.

ReubenJCogburn on July 1, 2007 at 2:44 PM

If they want to stir up things why not go all the way and put on Micheal Savage ( that is Dr. Micheal).

Legions on July 1, 2007 at 2:48 PM

If you want to understand how liberals think check out the video. Evan Sayet I have watched it 5 times, at least.

TheSitRep on July 1, 2007 at 2:48 PM

Wow. That big guy was kind of a mindless shill. Why do they even have those type of people on panel shows?

frankj on July 1, 2007 at 2:50 PM

What is MKH doing on CNN with a bunch of used car salesmen?

ronsfi on July 1, 2007 at 2:51 PM

I’m just now going over the multiple threads on the news regarding the bombing plots. If someone already put this forward, I apologize.
As for the concept, I’ve been suppressing the thought for as long as I can; but someone please reassure me its just my overimaginitave mind… I’m not one to believe in Conspiracy Theories; but to create one?

No or few victims; repeated bombs (made to look like Al-Queda at first), but possibly jihadists (not just Nichols/McVeigh types); and then news channels can’t stop suggesting the very idea that the est. 40,000 cameras photographing the avg. person about 300 times per day… starts to sound like the Orwellian “Big Brother” concept is being touted as a wonderful concept. Then even RUDY GIULIANI goes and says thanks to the offensive, the cameras and such, they’ll have a better idea in solving and preventing further attacks… What!? This ridiculous notion has nothing to do with party lines in my humble opinion; it sounds more like a New World Order implementation, one that has its roots deeper than a concerted U.S./U.K. concocted “terror plot” to garner worldwide fervor…

Ben Franklin comes to mind.
Does anyone else see a strange and twisted government plot possibility here, or am I just reading WAY too far into this?

nationspatriotcom on July 1, 2007 at 2:55 PM

The guy with the face for radio speaks of “sticking it to AC” and she’s the hate monger?
My God, these people are just double-talkers all the way.

Just a thought: To give equal time to the 25% of the population who are retarded?

infidel4life on July 1, 2007 at 3:04 PM

IIRC, this Ed Schultz was supposed to be the left’s answer to Rush. Ha! Fat chance (pun intended). It’s obvious even from this short clip that the guy’s completely devoid of any sense of humor or entertainment savvy. I think part of Rush’s draw is that even in the face of unrelenting lfetist grimness, he’s never lost his sense of the absurd, or his instinct to entertain while he delivers his message.

A hundred stations? My cat could broadcast on a hundred stations. Feh.

Lurking Vet on July 1, 2007 at 3:11 PM

It’s the same ol “marxist/socialist/liberal/pro-regressive tactic. If you can call someone a hatemonger/racist conservative, it is then, allways acceptable to lie about them. Then, if the evel conservative throws your hipocrasyin/accuracy back in your face, throw up another strawman and misquote something else they said. This never ending circular argument of the left is one of many reasons you can’t have a rational convesation that leads to solutions. I mean, this indignation on the left over what AC said is childish when you show no such indignation for people who have openly stated that they want to kill you!

Sorry if this was a little OT but people sometimes truly amaze me with their uncanny ability to misprioritize the most innane with the most sublime.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Lurking Vet on July 1, 2007 at 3:11 PM

Also, I loved this quote: “Ann Coulter hates leftists. She hates Democrats. She hates some Americans.”

Erm….does this mean that Democrats and leftists aren’t Americans?

Lurking Vet on July 1, 2007 at 3:13 PM

Hey, lurking vet, if the Birkenstock fits…..

bbz123 on July 1, 2007 at 3:31 PM

Every time I hear or see Schultz I conclude he is annoying. The only way MSM can zing AC is to take her out of context, so they do. No surprise there.

MKH: charming as always.

Spirit of 1776 on July 1, 2007 at 3:31 PM

I find it fascinating to see our most female, feminine, powerful visions of youthful womanhood start to force the direction of policy. When you have Elizabeth from the View and now this new person who is so calm and articulate, you have the irresistible element in play. God bless the highly evolved human. We are going to be alright.

Hey, lurking vet, if the Birkenstock fits…..

bbz123 on July 1, 2007 at 3:31 PM

Guess what I meant was, is Ed admitting that he thinks Democrat and American are incompatible states of being? What a Freudian slip that would be. :-)

Lurking Vet on July 1, 2007 at 3:36 PM

It’s funny how these liberals don’t see anything wrong with misrepresenting Coulter’s words cus we know what she thinks. That definitely explains the liberal bias in the media.

Chudi on July 1, 2007 at 3:38 PM

That girl is going places. Classy and hot.

Pablo on July 1, 2007 at 3:42 PM

It blows my mind that Schultz at #5 is the top liberal talk show host in the country. He is ahead of Laura Ingraham (7)Beck (10), O’Reilly (15)…. as well as Stern, Boortz, Mancow, Opie & Anthony, Colmes, Levin…..and out of Fargo, North Dakota. You learn something new every day.

volsense on July 1, 2007 at 3:46 PM

Okay, I get the point. Sometimes it’s just better to bury your head in the sand than engage in alternative thought.

nationspatriotcom on July 1, 2007 at 3:50 PM

“The lovely guest to my right is right”

Lovely yes, but to your left, genius.

Pablo on July 1, 2007 at 3:51 PM

Well done Mary Katharine.

Griz on July 1, 2007 at 3:53 PM

As for Silky’s shameless Coulter demagoguery as a fundraising ploy: it worked.

That’s just $9 million that didn’t go to the Hildebeast or Barry Obama. Conservatives should hope for a knock-out-drag-out fight in the Democrat primary. Let them spend their money trying to position themselves further to the left. We win in two ways: they deplete their warchest and they move further out of the mainstream.

cmay on July 1, 2007 at 4:01 PM

So another liberal justifies a lie because it serves a higher Truth(We know about Ann.)

I’m shocked er suprised, well bored maybe.

TunaTalon on July 1, 2007 at 4:01 PM

MKH does another fine job. And wow, what a roll call/mixtape. Schultzie even continued the lie after it was pointed out. How bad is that? Some of these people have no shame. How can I seem surprised?

PowWow on July 1, 2007 at 4:08 PM

MKH great again, as usual. So smart. Glad to have her out there for us.

So much for my Physics training: The Heisenberg uncertainty principle broken down to this point in existence state that MKH can either be Beautiful or Intelligent but not both. Kiss that F’n theory goodbye. . .

stanfil2 on July 1, 2007 at 4:45 PM

Seixon, of course it matters if you take her out of context. You may not like her, but her whole goal is to be witty and thought-provoking; wit by necessity needs context.

Spirit of 1776 on July 1, 2007 at 4:50 PM

If liberals (and even turncoat Republicans) can go for a shut the hell up your bugg’n me doctrine, we can go for a purposely derogatory video editing law.

Anyone who sees the entire contextual part of this clip knows that Coulter is the target of derogatory manipulation with intent to do harm (or raise primary money).

Speakup on July 1, 2007 at 5:01 PM

ronsfi on July 1, 2007 at 6:29 PM

They keep putting her on because she speaks truth to truthers. Of course the drive-by’s are unfair the way they misreport what she says. There’s nothing truthers hate more than the truth.

It’s already been shown that MKH hates cats. Remember her whipping that cat off her balcony one time?

cmay on July 1, 2007 at 4:01 PM

We should all try to help Silky in every way we can. It will be great if he can go the full distance in the Dem fight.

Saw Chris Wallace on Fox this afternoon with the chairman of Air America (guy called Green). It seems as if the new idea is to take a page out of Hugo Cavez playbook and not renew licences of concervative talk radio stations.

SIJ6141 on July 1, 2007 at 7:18 PM

You got that right, volsense — you really do learn something new every day. Today, for instance, we learned that the top-rated liberal talk show host in the country is so freakin’ ignorant he thinks “vile” is a verb. A minor point, I suppose…if we didn’t all know the vicious ridicule to which President Bush has been subjected for just such minor verbal slips.

frankj on July 1, 2007 at 2:50 PM

Frank, if I’m not mistaken I think they said that fat, stupid, red-faced man has his own radio show. Is that what they said? It’s always startling to see the depths they have to sink to in the effort to make money off of/criticize Coulter.

What is MKH doing on CNN with a bunch of used car salesmen?

ronsfi on July 1, 2007 at 2:51 PM

I’m almost sure I bought a Ford Tempo with a 5 speed and 138,000 miles from the fat one. The odometer said 38,000, title had been fudged…it had a bad transmission.

I wish there was a Jewish punditbabe ™ as cute as MKH.

rokemronnie on July 1, 2007 at 8:51 PM

I really like Ed Shultz for one reason: his show is growing in market share. The reason that’s so great is that it proves that you get a good business plan, get a syndication deal, put out a product that will pull Arbitron numbers - and thus advertisers - you thus get your word out. Ed Shultz (and Randi Rhodes and Rachel Maddow and Lionel and others) will be a great pin to help pop the absurd Maurice Hinchey-Dennis Kucinich-Nancy Pelosi-Trent Lott-Diane Feinstein-John Kerry Fairness Doctrine trial balloon when it starts floating towards the stratosphere.

Other than that…Shultz is a putz.

eeyore on July 1, 2007 at 9:02 PM

Oh, for the day when FNC gives Michelle and MKH their own half hour show not unlike the Beltway Boys. It would be a ratings boon, and the audience would be richer for it.

Now *I* am motivated to start video blogging.. ;-)

itzWicks on July 1, 2007 at 9:23 PM

Wow, 100 stations

More like 100 cb sets connected to the same lefty pos LOL

investwize999 on July 1, 2007 at 9:46 PM

Semi-related…How does Bill Maher pretty much keep getting a free pass? I figured since he was mentioned in the clip, I could bring him up. I’ve watched his show a few times, to find out which celebs to add to my list, and the venomous bile that spews from his mouth is past pretty much anything AC puts out there. But barely a peep in protest to him.

PowWow on July 1, 2007 at 10:17 PM

Who is that Ed Schultz idiot and what radio station carries him? What a dope.

Mary Katharine RAWKZ!!!

Ed Schultz is complete and utter ass who’s incapable of peeing and hitting the ground. No wonder his ratings have never rise above toilet water.

“No conservatives have taken AC to task for other outlandish things she has said.”

“It doesn’t matter if we take AC out of context because we all know where she’s coming from.”

Good grief. Does Ed Schultz moonlight as a DU poster, or is that his day job?

Physics Geek on July 2, 2007 at 8:01 AM

Beauty and brains - MKH is the real deal!

Hilts on July 2, 2007 at 8:32 AM

Don’t be surprised that The Silkies used Ann Coulter for fundraising. They have and will used the death of their son, I suppose for the “pity” vote, and Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer, likewise, for maximum effect in his campaign. Some people have no shame.

Qzsusy on July 2, 2007 at 8:53 AM

Two thoughts.

One: Who is Ed Schultz?

Okay three.

Two: Who is Ed Schultz to chide others about being “hate merchants” and who is he to demand “responsibility” from others? — Typical of that leftist lunatic.

Three: Why must these guys always make comment on the physical appearance of women like MKH? It is rather condescending, as if to say, “She’s pretty so she’s stupid.”

We get it, conservative women are smarter and prettier than liberal women. Now, convert or get over it.

srhoades on July 2, 2007 at 11:43 AM

Ann Coulter is a brilliant speaker, satirist and author. It’s clear that the left fears her and is going out of its way to silence her and to destroy her career. They cannot.

This conservative has nothing but praise for Ann Coulter, a true American patriot and an important voice of reason. I love her wit, which is often taken out of context.

Go-Ann-Go!

sinsing on July 2, 2007 at 11:53 AM

Yep, Kurtz digs her. So did the guy to her right. The talk show host? Meh.
