Poll: The thwarted London bombing was meant to distract us from…?

posted at 12:08 pm on June 29, 2007 by Bryan

In the face of yet more evidence that there’s a terrorist enemy out there that wants to destroy our civilization, many on the left have predictably retreated to the comfort food of their souls — idiotic, baseless conspiracy theories. Acknowledging reality is just too much for their delicate constitutions to take.

Well, sometimes you just have to illustrate the absurd by being absurd. So here’s a Hot Air poll: If the timing is to be questioned, then what was the attempted bombing meant to distract us from?

SodaHead Opinion Poll: The London car bombing was meant to distract from…?

Feel free to come up with your own answer in comments.

Update:What absurdity am I talking about? Well here’s a sample of nuttiness from the Huffington Post.

I agree with that last guy’s take.

(thanks to rain falls on everyone)

More: Clearly no poll on this question could be complete without listing Ron Paul as a choice. So here’s a new version, or an extension of the poll above.

Political Correctness is when Truth becomes taboo.
Remember it is when you fool yourself, that you are truly a fool.

TheSitRep on June 29, 2007 at 12:21 PM

We can never allow ourselves to forget how seductive the liberal belief system can be. It basically boils down to the path of least resistance in all things.

It is SCARY to believe that the people who constantly scream they want to kill us all are actually trying to kill us all. Therefore, it can’t be true.

It is COMFORTING to believe that we conservatives are their only “threat.” Therefore, that belief will be held by liberals no matter how many insane convolutions of fact are necessary.

Bad Candy on June 29, 2007 at 12:39 PM

Personally, Bryan, I think the *attempted bombing* was to distract from the government’s embarrassment at having the last conspiracy exposed by the conspiracy theorists, whichever one that was.

Dusty on June 29, 2007 at 12:40 PM

Ordinarily I’d say Ron Paul as well. Today I’m going to say Craig Biggio’s 3,000th career hit. But I may be the only Astros fan here.

Distract us from the scintillating, insightful, and deep introspective answers given in the Dems debate to a wide variety of issues that if the administration would just listen to would solve climate change, illegal immigration, Muslim extremism and immediately make every person in the world independitly wealthy.
Oh yeah solve the energy crisis.

There was no attempted bombing; the reports and vids are fakes concocted by BushCo-Rove. Since I’m not distracted, I can now return to following the really important news of Paris Hilton’s take of the immigration bill’s sabotage by the right-wing extremist Supreme Court’s activist ruling against balanced NASCAR racialing.

It’s bad enough that one person comes up with an idea like that. But then the comments are what gets to me. There are so many lunatics. Theyre trying to show their intelligence, but show the opposite in spades.

Maybe we should start our own rediculous conspiracy theories…

maybe these bombs were placed by the evil leftists trying to keep attention away from Dianne Finstien having given her husband big government contracts. Now that shamnesty is killed and Paris is freed the media needed something else to cover so they could justify continuing to ignore the scandal.

And for any nutroots keeping an eye on us. Sarcasm is intended. ;)
