hehe, I like the comparison at the end of the video. Great Jihad Watch, Robert. Keep em coming.

Mohammad killed poets and anyone else that ridiculed him after his mob came into power. All these centuries later, and after all the genocides and suffering done in his name, is it any wonder that this behavior is acceptable to the even larger mob of Islam?

Elizabeth “Lion Heart” and Sir Rushdie, I salute you both.

Next on the knighting list, Sir Robert Spencer?

Hening on June 29, 2007 at 8:57 AM

I have some advice for her majesty and her subjects. Learn how to say “up yours!” in Farsi.

Bigfoot on June 29, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Robert Spencer is a treasure. Like all treasures, he must be kept safe. He surely must be a thorn in the side of CAIR, and any other Stateside or international Muslim organization with a jihadi bent. I would hate to see a fatwa declared on him.

Qzsusy on June 29, 2007 at 9:13 AM

silly rabbit, freedom of speech is for Muslims and only Muslims

jediwebdude on June 29, 2007 at 9:14 AM

Wow, this really shows how intolerant and ignorant these people are.

hinduconservative on June 29, 2007 at 9:16 AM

I’m constantly amazed that these barbarians still exist in the 21st century. It’s a bit like waking up to find a T. Rex in your back yard.

RedWinged Blackbird on June 29, 2007 at 9:23 AM

Sir Rushdie—stay safe. To know your still safe is one little ray of light.

Legions on June 29, 2007 at 9:28 AM

How do you say “Go to hell” in:
Urdu
Arabic
Farsi

I think I can ask my Mom about how to say it in Hindi, which is pretty damn close to Urdu. But I don’t know Arabic and Farsi.

mram on June 29, 2007 at 9:34 AM

Hmmmm………

‘Sir Robert Spencer

How would Islam deal with that?

Catnip on June 29, 2007 at 9:45 AM

In the spirit of securing our borders, maybe the civilized world should build a wall around the middle east to keep these barbarians in.

Mephistefales on June 29, 2007 at 9:52 AM

Truth hurts don’t it fanatics

Drtuddle on June 29, 2007 at 10:08 AM

Again a very informative insight into the bipolar minds of the fundamentalist islamic (small letters used to indicate the appropriate level of respect they deserve)sect.

The sect’s rhetoric and actions further justify continued programs to monitor their the movements and intentions and those of their sympathizers.

I do not know if the very noticeable scar on Mr. Rusdie’s wife is the result of bigoted islmanic action, but if it is such issues should be shared to show the level these animals would go to deface anyone that opposes their view points.

MSGTAS on June 29, 2007 at 10:12 AM

Mr. Spencer’s view on what truly is freedom of speech is eloquent!

Sadly, it isn’t only the Muslims that cannot perceive what freedom of speech is, but also a growing number of citizens and politicians here in the United States.

Thank you Mr. Spencer for your continuing insight on the jihad threat.

Next on the knighting list, Sir Robert Spencer?

Sir Robert Spencer

How would Islam deal with that?

Can Robert claim relation to the Spencer family that produced Diana Spencer and Winston Spencer Churchill? If so, I’d say knighthood is overdue!

Bigfoot on June 29, 2007 at 10:30 AM

islam is incompatable with western democracies. no way to put the 2 together.

VTWaldrup on June 29, 2007 at 10:40 AM

It is amazing what these people want. They want us to give them respect without giving any respect to anyone. The knighthood for Rushdie has nothing to do with Islam, and everything to do with the sovereign state of Great Briatain. Yet they call it ‘Islamophobic’. It’s more like ‘westernophobe’ on their part. I’d say it’s the opposite of ‘islamophobe’.

I will never understand how they can be so ‘offended’ and so barbaric at the same time. Thin skinned and cold hearted must be a hell of a way to go through life. Maybe one day they’ll actually contribute to modern society instead of trying to destroy it. But I’m not holding my breath.

Thank you Mr. Spencer. I thank you for the work and writing that you do. I’ve learned a lot from your books.

Islam is incompatible with freedom period.

Is there anything that won’t hurt the muslim’s whittle Feelings? Its not called the Religion of Perpetual Outrage for nothing.

CrazyFool on June 29, 2007 at 10:54 AM

Islam: world’s largest crybaby streetgang.

infidel4life on June 29, 2007 at 11:04 AM

I am interested to engage a Muslim in debate over a topic I am confused on and that is, if Islam is the law for a Muslim, how can a true Muslim co-exist in a Western Society ruled by secular law? In other words, do Muslims only follow the laws that are in agreement with Islam and thwart the rest, or do they run the risk of being in violation of Muslim law which of course could have even more dire consequences?
I’ve tried to have this discussion several times now and each time the indiviual I’ve tried to engage has gotten very upset and left the conversation.
Another interesting thought, is that even if the majority of Muslims would be willing to submit to secular law, would the unyielding minority then work to undermine the entire society as a whole in an attempt to bring Islam to the entire society? Or would they only target the infidels who have defiled their faith?
I would love to hear some constructive conversation on these points.

Um, does the supermodel come with the knighthood or are they separate?

Meh… Turns out CAIR really doesn’t have the membership to be a threat. They were lying about their numbers - a lot.

Whoa, the hot hostess for Top Chef is Rushdie’s wife? Man, why didn’t become a writer instead of a code monkey…

I always wondered about that big ugly scar on her arm, too.

LOL. You may not get to have Padma Laxshmi, but there are plenty of anti-jihadi women out there. Perhaps Ayaan Hirsi Ali counts.

mram on June 29, 2007 at 11:13 AM

I don’t fear for the safety of Rushie nearly as much as I do the safety of Spencer. Robert Spencer poses a much greater threat to the Islamists than Rushdie ever did. Robert…, If you’re listening…, Take care of yourself, Friend. We need you as much now as we appreciate you for your service thus far. God speed, Brother.

Spencer for Homeland Security Czar…!

Mephistefales on June 29, 2007 at 9:52 AM

Because the Liberals would find ways to ensure that the terrorists get the contract for the construction AND security of the entire project and it would be a wall keeping civilization OUT and allowing them to pay us cordial visits at will. The humor wasn’t lost on me though. LOL…!

Rugged Individual on June 29, 2007 at 11:23 AM

if Islam is the law for a Muslim, how can a true Muslim co-exist in a Western Society ruled by secular law?
HERE is the link.
“In February this year, a poll was carried out by ICM, and this showed that 40% of Muslims wanted Sharia Law. Sharia, or Islamic Law, involves no democracy, and in its history, implementation and resistance to amendment, it is totally alien to British Law.”

In other words, do Muslims only follow the laws that are in agreement with Islam and thwart the rest, or do they run the risk of being in violation of Muslim law which of course could have even more dire consequences?

Yes. islam 101

Another interesting thought, is that even if the majority of Muslims would be willing to submit to secular law, would the unyielding minority then work to undermine the entire society as a whole in an attempt to bring Islam to the entire society?

The word “islam” itself means “Submission”.

Or would they only target the infidels who have defiled their faith?

They would target both those that proselytize and those that convert away from islam (apostates).
Hasri Husan, a leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (search), a militant Muslim group that is operating a refugee camp in Banda Aceh, made his feelings clear.

“We will chase down any Christian group that does anything beyond offering aid,” he said before making a slashing motion across his throat.”

Swinehound on June 29, 2007 at 11:41 AM

All this trouble for pointing out that their “prophet” admitted being deceived by Satan while composing the Koran.

What kind of loser “prophet” would even admit such a thing?

Or “marry” a 9 year old girl?

Sounds like a medieval Jim Jones.

Or Pol Pot.

You try to leave their cult, you die.

Same old madness, new dress.

And to finish the joke… Then fill it with water!

Swinehound on June 29, 2007 at 11:49 AM

Man, that was a good one. I like the point that freedom of speech isn’t for the nice stuff, that it’s for the critical stuff, the stuff that you don’t want to hear. Savage had said that yesterday on his show (well, shouted it several times actually) about the “fairness” doctrine. Both are perfect examples.

rahjr2k on June 29, 2007 at 11:59 AM

Bigfoot

If I were Robert, I would not be proud of any relationship with Lady Diana, should that exist. After all, aside from being a celebrety with dubious causes - like removing land mines from the DMZ in Korea, towards her last days, she was busy dating Dodi al Fayyad. Wouldn’t want to have to visit Egypt now and then for family.

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill - that would be another matter.

infidelpride on June 29, 2007 at 12:44 PM

LOL. You may not get to have Padma Laxshmi, but there are plenty of anti-jihadi women out there. Perhaps Ayaan Hirsi Ali counts.

Robert would have a tough time keep her away from the ever-prying eyes of Hugh Fitzgerald, a closeted paramour of Hirsi Ali.

awake on June 29, 2007 at 1:11 PM

The scar on Padma Laxmi’s arm is from a car accident. I’m a Top Chef fan and went looking for the info. It wasn’t easy to find.

speed911 on June 29, 2007 at 1:26 PM

So the way Muslims fight terrorism is to force Britain to withdraw the title?

So much for moderate Islam.

desertdweller on June 29, 2007 at 2:25 PM

Um, does the supermodel come with the knighthood or are they separate?

Robert Spencer on June 29, 2007 at 11:05 AM

It certainly appears that way. I mean Salman Rushdie not unnattractive, but still…

Excellent and informative Jihad Watch as always Mr. Spencer, thank you.

What is needed today is find a way for the civilized world to deprogram 1.2+billion Muslims starting with the children. While waiting for this plan to be developed it may be necessary to remove the technological infrastructure of a few places, such as Iran, leaving only the essentials, tents, camels and goats.

Annar on June 29, 2007 at 5:11 PM

“….freedom of speech is part of a view of the dignity of the human person that is ultimately rooted in Judeo-Christian conceptions that are superior to the islamic view of human beings as slaves to allah.”

Robert! Buddy! Awesome!

Take notes boys and girls - this is classic comparative religion that highlites a prime difference which the jihadis will never comprehend.

As for you Mr. Spencer, as always, your eloquence in saying things we try to is topnotch.

hollygolightly on June 29, 2007 at 10:08 PM

More insight from Robert Spencer into the Islamic Assault, insightful as always, with clear reporting and commentary.

Islam is incompabable with democracy, or for that matter anyone who does not believe as they do. The sooner that this fact is realized the better off those who wish to remain free will be.

omegaram on June 30, 2007 at 2:38 AM

Speed 911, thank you for the information regarding the disfigurement. However, it does generate questions, especially after reading “Infidel”, regarding the value islamic fundamentalists have for women or anyone that do not blindly follow their twisted sense of life.

Being a boomer of the 60’s from S.F. it is an interesting observation that the “Black Panther’s” and other radical groups adopted the religion of peace (Islam). My observation is that practitioners stopped reading the Koran when they sensed that any and all violence is acceptable if it means they can obtain their goal of dominance.

Finally, the insights of Mr. Spencer serve as evidence of this observation and Mr. Spencer is a valuable asset in our effort to understand what the enemy is thinking and why. As with any valuable humanit (human intel) asset he must be protected.

MSGTAS on June 30, 2007 at 9:27 AM

Meh… Turns out CAIR really doesn’t have the membership to be a threat. They were lying about their numbers - a lot.

The entirety of islam lies about their numbers. 1.5 billion? NOT. Not a chance. Maybe 1 billion, tops. They’re losing muslims faster then they can pop ‘em out of the womb. Their numbers are getting smaller. Not just CAIR, but muslims worldwide. Why do they enforce killing apostates now more than ever?

Great post Robert, you are indeed an integral part of todays sane society. THANK YOU!

You did say one thing that is disturbing, and sadly may become true….“post Christian west” , that stung a little. Can the world survive in a PCW? Probably not.
But-
While the left (and the ‘youths’) is doing everything they can to dismiss us all, don’t count us out yet. We DO number 2.6 BILLION Christians and we ARE growing at 185,000 new Christians each and every day.
Thanks again HA and Sir Robert, you are a knight to us.

Money quote:

Freedom of speech encompassses precisely the freedom to annoy, to ridicule, and to offend. If it doesn’t, it is hollow. Inoffensive speech doesn’t need the protection of a Constitutional Amendment. The instant that any person or ideology is considered off-limits for critical examination and even ridicule, freedom of speech has been replaced by an ideological straightjacket.

That pretty much destroys the foundation under all PC thought, I’d say.

Freelancer on June 30, 2007 at 3:18 PM

That’s a “keeper” quote from Robert Spencer. That will go into my quotes log. Thanks for pulling that out for us Freelancer.
