I really envy you guys in the States with your right to carry firearms and shoot bad guys. Here in Canada, no such right exists. Indeed, if an intruder enters your house in Canada, and you shoot him, YOU will be the one in trouble. No Canadian has the right to use deadly force on an intruder, much less a robber in a Subway restaurant.

If this had happened in Canada, the man who defended himself would be facing second degree murder charges, as well as charges for carrying a concealed firearm. Suffice to say, the Leftists turned Canada into Sweden from the perspective of gun laws, while doing nothing to stop Canada from turning into the States from the perspective of violent criminals.

Truly, I say, the worst of both worlds.

Another Marine to the rescue! I don’t think this guy will have any problems dealing with what he did—-that’s what Marines are trained for.

More people need to have licenses to carry a concealed weapon, including me. I’ve been thinking about it for years, just haven’t got around to doing it.

Thank God that this conceal carry holder was there when he was. The people in that restaurant should be thanking him for their lives.

If you have a conceal carry permit, I say carry often (always when legal). And for those who don’t have a permit, look into it. You will definitely learn something about the laws in our country and you might enjoy learning how to shoot and protect your family and friends.

I sure hope the police don’t waste too much of the hero’d time or keep that business from turning a profit by dilly-dallying for ‘evidence’ etc… It’s obvious neither will be reimbursed for their time. Those crooks shouldn’t be able to hinder business or keep a law-abiding citizen from his date or TV shows. ;)

This actually sounds like a failure of gun-control. I mean, one of the robbers escaped! Whatever happened to emptying your clip in the x-ring? The customer needs some more time at the range and some proper instruction as to how to deal with perps!

Still, he did get one perp and put at least one shot in the torso of the other, so he’s a B-student with potential to improve.

As another commenter stated (eloquently), I will save my sympathy for those who deserve it. There is no reason to believe it couldn’t have happened like the Wendy’s Restaurant shooting in Queens, NY a few years back. That time, the thugs rounded up the workers, put them in the walk-in freezer and killed them execution style. Here is a choice quote:

“Police responding to a robbery call early today saw the wounded workers upstairs and broke through the locked glass door to help them, Chief of Detectives William Allee said at a news conference.

The other five were found in a basement walk-in refrigerator, their hands bound behind their backs and their mouths taped shut. All but one died at the restaurant in the Flushing section of Queens. The fifth died soon after arriving at a hospital.”

It in not the primary responsibility of police to protect anyone. They are to enforce the law (Lar for those of you who wish John Kerry was POTUS).
Point is…You are your own first responder. This gentleman proves the point. If he were my father or grandfather or even an acquaintance; I would give him a hug and tell him “I’m sorry you had to go through such an ordeal but thank you for having the balls to do what you know is right!”
