Good news: Tommy Chong solves America’s immigration problem

posted at 6:15 pm on June 28, 2007 by Allahpundit

Look me in the (virtual) eye and tell me you’d vote for Lindsey Graham if Tommy challenged him in SC.

You can’t. You can’t do it.

Why is this idiot getting air-time?

bbz123 on June 28, 2007 at 6:21 PM

I saw that live and my IQ musta dropped 20 points listening to that moron.

So I sent Cavuto this little note:

“Neil,

I watched in utter disbelief as Tommy Chong spewed his moronic opinions on your show. The question I was left with was: Why? Why waste valuable airtime on a third-rate comedian? Now if you had wanted some advice on how to grow the best pot, or who makes the best bongs, then he’s your guy, but Tommy Chong on immigration? Gimme a break.”

infidel4life on June 28, 2007 at 6:22 PM

Well, I’d vote for Vicente Fox over Lindsay Graham. I’m not going to be denied firing these pricks because of the lesser-of-two evils extrotion they’ve coasted on all this time.

But the main issue here is Cavuto. The president backed a “moderate solution” that “even Ted Kennedy backed”. Oh FNC Bushies! Oh humanity!

I shining example of a dope-smoking democrat. After we fix immigration then we can stem the tide of illegal drugs and democrats everywhere will just …. disappear ….

warriorlawyer on June 28, 2007 at 6:24 PM

Tommy Chong is from the same school of consciousness as Ted Kennedy. After partaking of daily consumptions of brain cell killers for years, they have no clear cut perception of reality. Their minds sometime work like they used to and sometimes don’t. It must be a trip to wake up and not know if you are awake or not. I would have to think twice if it came down to him or Graham though. I am afraid McCain’s lap dog is about to enter a new phase in his life.

Haha! Hilarious.

I couldn’t believe it when I heard his name on Cavuto. This dude’s delusional.

My favorite line whas when he said a few years ago a genius was running the country…doesn’t few mean three? Genius!

Pass the pipe, doooood.

JayHaw Phrenzie on June 28, 2007 at 6:27 PM

I saw this earlier and you left out the kicker. Tommy admitted he was Canadian “illegal” at the beginning of the segment. Gee, do we need a northern border fence, also?

If it’s a lesser of to evils, I’d vote Graham.

“This is your brain on drugs”.

kevcad on June 28, 2007 at 6:28 PM

Re exit question — yes, if those were the only choices. Chong would liven up the Senate, and set off the fire alarms in the men’s room quite often, cutting down on legislation time.

CrazyFool on June 28, 2007 at 6:33 PM

Infidel, I was watching it live too, but I hafta disagree, I say let this idiot talk, let the world see how moronic these lefties are.

The best part was when he said “You wanna know how to solve this immigration problem? Look at China, they built a wall and it did nothing.” That’s it, that’s his whole answer, his way of solving this problem, even though he didn’t say what he thought we should do about it, he was convinced he put forth a great example of problem solving. Keep on talkin’ lefty pothead dimwits, every word out of your mouth is another vote for a conservative who still has his brain intact.

Tony737 on June 28, 2007 at 6:34 PM

THIS is your brain on drugs.

Loved how he calls Bush a moron yet claims the reason the swimmer is not POTUS is because he is not the brightest guy in the world.

Bong hits anyone?

Talon on June 28, 2007 at 6:34 PM

How about he goes back into LA County jail for the 5th time? He is a step away from skid row and Cavuto has him on his show? What a collosal waste of time and human flesh and cannibis.

When you interview a moron, More often than not you’ll get a moranic response.

TheSitRep on June 28, 2007 at 6:49 PM

I liked Caputo’s interview with Ted Nugent better. I can’t link to it but its still up at FOXNEWS.COM. Yes Tommy Ted’s the one who went on the joyride with the girl.

sonnyspats1 on June 28, 2007 at 6:51 PM

This is gatta be Cavuto’s way to get an outrageous comment on todays events. You can see he’s enjoying this to no end. So was I.

Cheech: Hey Man, I thought you was chick.
Chong: It’s the only way I can get a ride man.

Kini on June 28, 2007 at 6:53 PM

I see more intelligent discourse when I am sitting with my one year old grandson and watch Spongebob Squarepants. Who makes the decision to interview this guy?

Let’s see what Squidward thinks about things or Mr. Krabb.

hoosierken on June 28, 2007 at 6:54 PM

You cut it off too soon, AP. I wanted to hear the whole crew laugh when Chong had the line about Kennedy “joy riding with the girl.”

Dudley Smith on June 28, 2007 at 6:56 PM

Tommy, Duuuuuuude! you gotta carb once in a while.

He managed to screw up 2 basic subjects there. First, History: Can anyone tell me what fiscal years the Enron boys and the others were engaging in their frauds? The “Clinton Economy” was aided by lies? nahh, couldn’t be. He was a genius. And an inveterate liar.

2nd, Economics: Without an artificial border, a commodity will be moved until price approaches equilibrium. That means people (labor) wil keep coming until their pay here approaches their pay in Mexico, and it won’t happen from wage increases south of the Rio Grande. That’s a brilliant liberal thinker right there, he totally misses the unintended consequence – hurting low skilled (and even some skilled trades) laborers here. That’s ok, the Gub’ment will take care of them, right?

trubble on June 28, 2007 at 6:58 PM

Compare Ted the Sledge, who has never used drugs, doesn’t drink and hunts with bow and arrow to the drug addled ramblings of Chong the Bonger.

bbz123 on June 28, 2007 at 7:07 PM

Let me get this strtaight: Kennedy is an OK guy, not a moron. If he were the smartest guy around, he’d be President. So, the smartest guy is President. But wait, our current President is a moron?

My brain hurts.

DR Good on June 28, 2007 at 7:09 PM

Some memorable quotes from Tommy Chong interviews:

“…and I don’t really drink alot of booze, alcohol will kill ya… but I smoke all the pot I can find, I don’t smoke it all at once, I just do a little bit at a time, and I uh, I used to take acid but I quit around 1971.”

“I call this the Tsunami Government. This government is just like the tsunami. It’s coming in, it’s going to wreak havoc and desolation, and then it’ll go out. It’ll disappear. So we just have to live through it.”

“I done ecstasy and uh, it was great.”

“Edmonton always had the better musicians, but we had better looking guys in Calgary.”

“That’s why people that have an education, you know, that’s why they spend time in art museums, or reading good literature or listening to good music. Because it affects the body’s chemistry in such a way that it produces a very mellow high that you can never reproduce with any kind of drugs.”

“You know, I left the country when Reagan got in; I went to France. And when George Bush Jr. got in, my instincts told me it was time to go – I’d felt that we had grown above that, you know?”

“I don’t think you could find anybody who hasn’t tried marijuana, and I take a lot of credit for that. They’re going to have to change their policy.”

SilverStar830 on June 28, 2007 at 7:10 PM

I think Chong was smoking dog sh*t before he went on Cavuto.

“These uniforms are lame, man.”

HaroldFine on June 28, 2007 at 7:10 PM

I’d take Tommy Chong over Paris coverage any day of the week.

And, I’d probably support him over Graham. Just for the comedic value. Besides, is there really that large a difference between their stances?

nailinmyeye on June 28, 2007 at 7:27 PM

So, who is bong man supposed to be representative of here?

Americans are celebrating and FOX picks this stoner?

MrC_5150 on June 28, 2007 at 7:32 PM

Just laughs at Tommy. Talk about burnout! Just shows you what 40 years of taking drugs does to the mind.

He says we have a moron running the country now, but had a genius running the country a couple years ago. Let’s see, who was president waaaaay back in 2005? Oh yeah! George W. Bush!

Then he’s arguing against his own position with regard to the defeated immigration bill.

Keep smoking the weed, Tommy. This American loves laughing at you!

I love Tommy. 20 years ago I used to laugh with him. Now I laugh at him. He’ll always be funny as hell to listen to. Just don’t expect important insight or anything resembling coherence.

Nonfactor on June 28, 2007 at 11:53 PM

You really believe the whole world is supposed to know that guy? Yeh, that’s ethnocentric in the classic sense. Here’s some real cross culture: Africans were not as impressed with the Reggae culture as Westerners – in African societies, from West Africa to East Africa, North to South, dreadlocks are a spooky sign of mental illness and degradation, possible demon-possession. Africans spend a lot of time on their hair to keep it neat, they don’t like “wild.”
And of course, winding back to the original subject: the conceit that everyone must be in agreement to “legalize it.”
And that incredibly after viewing a clip that displays that Tommy Chong is a walking billboard for the argument NOT to legalize a drug that makes a person stupid.
Legalize it? “America’s Dumbest Criminals” would have so much material, it’d be a nightly show rather than a weekly broadcast.

naliaka on June 29, 2007 at 8:52 AM

The American people dug it out because we wanted the friggen borders secured because of 9/11 and they responded by expending lots of effort on a POS bill that we did not want! They could have very easily passed a borders security and employer sanction bill. But they could do that because then they wouldn’t have border security to hold over our heads in order to get their amnesty passed.

Where the heck is Newt? He should be articulating this and setting a path to rein in our out of control congress.

Er…thats a bit of a sticking point most of us conservative would like to pretend doesn’t exist…After the Mexican American war when the United States purchased the southwest from Mexico we did sign a treaty with Mexico granting Mexican citizens Free right of passage.

It was done because there were several million Mexican citizens who literately became American citizens overnight who still had families in Mexico. So we agreed to their free right of passage so that they could visit their families any time they wanted to.

However also to be fair that free right of passage was never intended to allow tens of millions of Mexicans to illegally enter this country and take up semi-permanent or permanent residency.
