Technically impressive, conceptually clever, and yet somehow inexplicably irritating. Just like all JibJab productions. Click the image to watch.

How about the “Star Mangled Banner”?
kjspeedial on June 27, 2007 at 9:52 AM
Meh. The problem with that is that once you’ve seen the first five seconds, you know what the rest is going to be. No suspense.
Farmer_Joe on June 27, 2007 at 9:54 AM
Also, it’s sort of a copy of someone else’s work.
EditoratIP on June 27, 2007 at 9:55 AM
I hope they didn’t waste as much time making that as I did watching it.
RedWinged Blackbird on June 27, 2007 at 10:00 AM
The Disney Fair(y) Use Tale was pretty cool, too.
eforhan on June 27, 2007 at 10:00 AM
Hey…I kinda liked it.
flipflop on June 27, 2007 at 10:01 AM
I thought it was great

When does the copyright suit by Francis Scott Key’s heirs start?
Bigfoot on June 27, 2007 at 10:10 AM
Damn it all, the Navy won’t let me go to Jib Jab.
ic1redeye on June 27, 2007 at 10:10 AM
Kooky fun.
It’s hump day!
Tru2my2 on June 27, 2007 at 10:20 AM
I recognized Ronald Reagan in there, but who were all those other tiny little clowns?
saint kansas on June 27, 2007 at 10:20 AM
The real fun doesn’t start until humping robot day.
saint kansas on June 27, 2007 at 10:21 AM
It’s good to see a little humor instead of the doom. Laura is on her radio talk show lets give her some support in our other ear..
Legions on June 27, 2007 at 10:23 AM
Uninspiring…..
sonnyspats1 on June 27, 2007 at 10:23 AM
Blah. Didn’t do much for me, one way or the other.
ophelia on June 27, 2007 at 10:34 AM
I always love the Battle Hymn of the Republic and wish it was our national anthem. Recently, I saw a documentary on Winston Churchill. At his request, they played it at his funeral. I know the religious overtones would make it unacceptable to many people, but there is no more inspiring song and one that reflects what truly makes this nation great.
Blake on June 27, 2007 at 10:38 AM
And the message is. . .
All politicians are interchangeable? Ralph Nadir (sic) would love this piece.
smellthecoffee on June 27, 2007 at 10:44 AM
Blech.
Totally not worth it…Jib-Jab phoned that one in…
JetBoy on June 27, 2007 at 10:45 AM
Looks like this one was not actually made by the JibJab guys themselves. They give credit to ThePartyParty.com. Whoever that is.

How about the “Star Mangled Banner”?
kjspeedial on June 27, 2007 at 9:52 AM
Indeed kj, although I believe the “Star Mangled Banner” honor still belongs to the lovely Rosanne Barr…
soulsirkus on June 27, 2007 at 11:05 AM
Now… if they had done the other verses… the ones most Americans don’t know… that woulda been kewl..
Romeo13 on June 27, 2007 at 11:18 AM
Not irritating to me. Way cool rippin’.
Griz on June 27, 2007 at 11:20 AM
Alright AP, here’s my response… took a while to upload, so late on the scene:
National Anthem
Spirit of 1776 on June 27, 2007 at 11:20 AM
Actually, that wasn’t as good as some of this editor’s other works on YouTube. You might have seen the same sort of mash-up of Bush words singing U2′s “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, which did something I didn’t think anyone could do: Make me listen to a U2 song.
He did a particularly nice compilation of speakers in the 60′s, including Reagan, Kennedy, Goldwater, King, and Malcolm X. You can see it here, and I highly suggest it. It’s a quite inspiring collection of conservative patriotism that we no longer head in this country except from a rare few like Fred!
MadisonConservative on June 27, 2007 at 12:17 PM
Pretty lame.
saiga on June 27, 2007 at 1:13 PM
That’s actually pretty low-tech editing for June 07. You’ve got kids on youtube doing way better stuff with dad’s camcorder and freeware editors.
Not only that; it was quite irritating.
Mephistefales on June 27, 2007 at 1:55 PM
Meh. Cool idea, poorly done. And I agree, irritating to watch.

ic1redeye on June 27, 2007 at 10:10 AM
If I understand your post thank you for serving.
As far as the video, just boring to me. Nothing more nothing less.
PowWow on June 27, 2007 at 3:36 PM
The Tony Blair video was much better.
Nethicus on June 27, 2007 at 4:16 PM
I thought they’d end it in Spanish. Thanks for not going there now.
Entelechy on June 27, 2007 at 10:14 PM
Don’t forget Steven Tyler.
Heh, you’re gonna tell me an IC1 can’t get around a simple site-block? (j/k) No way JibJab’s site gets past NMCI filters, but that’s NMF.
Freelancer on June 28, 2007 at 2:20 AM
Pretty simplistic, especially since it’s something I’m sure they’ve all publicly recited in its entirety. I’d be more impressed if they made them sing, say… old Violent Femmes, maybe?
Tanya on June 28, 2007 at 7:47 AM
Ha. Yeah, the Blair one’s great.
Tanya on June 28, 2007 at 7:51 AM
I thought it was cute and entertaining.
Thanks for posting this kind of stuff.
It takes my mind off the really big problems.
