Dog bites man: Hamas member working for the BBC

And just like that, last summer’s controversy over the mixed motives of Arab stringers takes on a repulsive yet exciting new dimension. What’s next? Hizb ut-Tahrir members working for the Guardian?
Despite Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) opposition and per the request of the BBC, the coordinator of government activities allowed a Hamas member who works for the BBC to enter the Gaza Strip last week to assist in efforts to release kidnapped journalist Alan Johnston.
Defense officials told The Jerusalem Post that a week ago, a request came from the BBC asking that a Palestinian employee of the news company who is believed to be a close associate of senior Hamas officials be allowed to enter Gaza.
And to think, I thought the biggest absurdity of the Alan Johnston kidnapping would be Hamas playing the role of hostage negotiator. Exit question one: Why would an infamously left-wing news organization employ members of a genocidal religious fascist group? Hmmm. Exit question two: I guess this solves this mystery, eh? Exit question three: Why on earth would the Beeb go to the trouble of hiring Hamas when it can hire useful western idiots to do the same job?

Did anyone else notice this comment?
Perhaps if someone could highlight where the BBC calls for the dictatorship of the proletariat and the establishment of workers’ collectives across the nation I might be more inclined to believe claims that it’s “left wing”.
My own impression is that it’s broadly centrist, generally conservative on social issues and classically liberal on political ones.

This man probably thinks that radical socialists like Hillary Clinton are pro-business, mainstream centrists!
*shakes head*

This is a symptom of one of the biggest problems facing the Western world: terrorism, like barbarism in general, thrives when it’s tolerated in any way, even the smallest ways. The old “no negotiations with terrorists” doctrine of the 80s recognized this. The idea that any Western news agency would employ members of a terrorist organization is absurd, and besides confirming a number of our worst fears about the media, it gives terrorists that ray of hope they need to prevail. Tolerating them is the first step to capitulating to them. Once you let guys carrying grenades into your dinner party, it becomes awfully tough to cut them off when they’ve had too much punch and start demanding more.

Even Castro and Chavez look like centrists to Stalin.

Is anyone really surprised? Isn’t the beeb basically the West’s version of al-jazeera? They are anti-western, anti-Israel, anti-US - what more evidence is required?

It is a bit late… but I would like to ask for a moment of silence to mark the passing of a once great venue of democratic thought.

Big Surprise: The BBC in league with Hamas. Who would have guessed?
But then I have long since written the BBC off and only get information about their media releases and company through second hand sources, such as this article on Hot Air.
I suppose I have demostrated a definite lack of interest in those MSM components that are identified as not only promoting the propaganda of the Left - but are allied with our enemies.

Some people seem to blindly support underdogs even when said underdogs wish them dead.
Guess who these people are.
Hint: “Fairness, fairness fairness!”

I’m too much of a Doctor Who fan to stop watching it despite its BBC connection, but grrr.
