Reason 999999999 why Islam is NOT a religion, it’s only a death cult and by no means does it qualify as a religion.

I’m just glad that the boy didn’t understand why he was wearing the vest. That may mean that there is still hope for him.

Must mean they are running out of adults. Seems to be a trend when it comes to splodeydopes.

No, just means that it is getting more difficult for the adults with bomb vests to get close to their targets. BTW, this is my first comment in HA!!!

Yeah, gee, let me think. Where were the terrorists? Hiding behind the children, like they’ve done so many times before?

Obviously you don’t want to target civilians, but people need to realize that if an army is hiding among non-combatants and using them as shields like cowards, THEY are responsible for the loss of innocent life, not their adversaries.

is this desparation on hte part of the taliban or using our humanity against us?

Both. When I left in ’05, they were not doing anything even remotely this desparate. Of course, we had been zorching them as they crossed the borders (and we still are) – so they have had to adjust since they can’t seem to even muster enough to get into stand up fights anymore. It’s down to kidnappings, IEDs and this type of suicide attack.

Doesn’t indicate strength in the “resurgent Taliban” (I don’t even see the press touting/using that one much anymore)if you have gone from 100-150 man formations fighting in the mountains to strapping bomb vests on 6 year olds, kidnapping journalists, and setting up bombs. These guys are turning into an Islamic FMLN.

I think you got the emphasis wrong in most of those posts, nonfactor. People were pleased, generally, that the our forces were finally not being constrained by the old trick of these clowns to use women and children, and hospitals, and ambulances, etc. etc. ad freaking nauseam as shields to hide behind. They weren’t applauding the fact that children got killed, just that the fact that children might get killed didn’t prevent us from trying to take out the high value targets. The Geneva Convention states that combatants out of uniform who hide themselves among civilian populations are responsible for what happens to those civilians. The side that is playing by the rules is allowed to fire away in those cases. The (pre-Islamofascist era) idea here is that irregular combatants will be discouraged from trying these tricks because they will cause harm to come to those civilians (their countrymen presumeably), and hospitals will become targets and ambulances will be searched, relying on the fact that said combatants have one shred of decency somewhere in their hearts. The Geneva Convention gets the distinction; most of the posters the other day got the distinction–why don’t you?

I know it was an insensitive or “not PC” thing to say, but what is there to say about the story? Everyone here knows suicide bombings targeting civilians are reprehensible and the fact that a six-year old is being forced to go through with it is even worse. Repeating such would be unnecessary. I was simply commenting on the comments in this thread in regards to comments in a thread I saw the other day, pointing out a slight hypocrisy in hopes that others here would realize it themselves.

Reading the story actually humanizes the children in the possession of these radicals, to think that just a few days ago people were applauding the fact that children like this young boy were killed, in my mind, is disgusting, and I figured I’d bring it up as a (rhetorical) question.

After the NATO boys (or was it just us?) wiped out 80 of these maggots in Pakistan, I am starting to believe that the left’s dream that we are “creating new terrorists every day with our occupation” may be a liberal dream that is running out of gas.
