Heart-ache: Mary Katharine Ham embraces Trutherism

I always knew there was something dodgy about her, man. She could mouth the talking points but she never really looked like she believed them, you know? The writing’s been on the wall since the Scarborough thing.

No, actually, this is strictly a “when in Rome” strain of Trutherism. She was undercover at the Take Back America conference, a.k.a. the nutroots answer to CPAC, to do a little amateur zoology. It’s a breezy three minutes but the opening shot is the most important. Quite an array of conspiracy literature they have at this very left-wing gathering, no? Must be one of those progressive coincidences I keep hearing about, like how all those anti-“Zionist” diaries keep turning up at dKos. Click the image to watch.

You are just trying to goad her into wearing something that is both revealing and pink, aren’t you?

I admire her patience with these loonies. It takes a LOT of patience to deal with such nutty attitudes. Good insight and nice “infiltration tip”..cookies? Who knew? *lol*

labwrs on June 22, 2007 at 4:57 PM

Rats! I couldn’t hear most of the video! :-(

kevcad on June 22, 2007 at 5:02 PM

The old Warner Brothers Studio (Bugs Bunny era) couldn’t have come up with a better looney bin. You could make a case study on these people and have enough mental problems for all of UW’s psyciatric students to write their doctrates.

Their lips are moving but I can’t hear what they’re saying.

Lucky for me I have terrible hearing and Couldn’t
most of what was said. Phew ! ! That was close.

Texyank on June 22, 2007 at 5:06 PM

sound sucked. this has been jesse jetstream’s mo for decades: speak in some bizarre, made-up dialect that no one else can understand, and they won’t be able to pin anything on you…

Jaibones on June 22, 2007 at 5:06 PM

The old “I brought cookies” sneak in the building trick!

Drtuddle on June 22, 2007 at 5:09 PM

I could not make out most of the audio. MKH and Hotair both leave much room for improvement in the audio department. Just some constructive crit for my favorite site.

For The Vent I suggest…

Does ACORN know its logo looks like an infant’s privates, or is that some kind of weird accident?

Blacklake on June 22, 2007 at 5:23 PM

Ya Moonbats. The climate is sure going to change if the jihadists get their hands on nukes. You can count on it. What dingbats.

Don’t most Moonbats look eerily similar? Isn’t it weird how you can look at people and usually tell if they are Moonbats? I wonder if that argues for some sort of genetic basis for moonbatitis?

TheBigOldDog on June 22, 2007 at 5:24 PM

I liked the melodramatic sound effects at the beginning, and with my headphones on I could understand everybody but one guy. Just the same left-wing nuts you always see at things like this.

Take Back America

From whom, exactly? Its citizens? Sane people? As usual, liberals can’t label anything honestly (a la the “Fairness Doctrine”), nor will they admit to being liberal. Conservatives actually put the word “conservative” in the name of CPAC, because we aren’t ashamed of what we are.

ReubenJCogburn on June 22, 2007 at 5:32 PM

Yeah, this one almost needed closed captioning! Had to watch it a couple times to figure out what was said.

Jack M. on June 22, 2007 at 4:56 PM

Aren’t we all, Jack? Just teasing, MK!

Bad Candy on June 22, 2007 at 5:47 PM

All you complaining about the audio really are missing the point, here.

I mean, did you see her in that shirt at the end? Not even the press pass could mess it up.

Yup.

amerpundit on June 22, 2007 at 5:55 PM

I like chocolate chip cookies. Those will bribe me anytime. Seriously, if I were a guard at a Hillary Clinton event and you brought me some warm CC cookies, I’d totally let you through and chow down.

Oh yeah, brink some cold milk too so I have something to wash those yummy cookies down with!

Mmmmmm!

I like MKH but please get a video producer.

What happened to the awesome HamNation “She drives me crazy” intro?

I couldn’t hear the moonbat pronouncement on the worst challenge facing America. I thought it was “Conservative ideology” or something similar, but there was too much background noise to be sure. For better audio, look for a camera-mountable external mic with adjustable sensitivity. Sony makes a nice model that switches from wide-angle to narrow-angle (although it’s not a true shotgun mic). That mic significantly improved the sound of my family video footage. Since I’m unsure about posting commercial info on a comment like this, I’ll just say that you can find such things in the online catalog of the major NYC photo and video retailer.

Catching up with the previous HamNations… I loved the “Sopranos” spoof. Very clever.
